    It will always baffle me when people criticize other players characters for being "sub-optimized" or bad. And it's even worse if they get pissy when said character proves effective.

      @pandachantheking  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yeah as long as the player in question is having fun who even cares how optimised the character is. As long as its not taking awey form the rest of the partys fun

    Wizard sounds like he is riding the line of main character syndrome. It is always more fun to bask in the glory of your friends than turn away from them when they are glowing.

    • @pandachantheking
      @pandachantheking  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah I know right. But even if you do get frustrated that your friends are doing "better" than you, its alweys possible to talk it out or find a solution that is not just storming off in anger

    always so weird to me when people are upset that others get lucky and powerful in DnD and other roleplaying games. you can still be the most 'important' and talked about member of the party while also being the weakest. I would argue that the weakest (and unluckiest) party member gets talked about THE MOST by the rest of the party because they have to protect them plus the DM will try to buff you up eventually to compensate.

      I get that sometimes when your character is not well built or unlucky you could feel upset but that can be resolved with a talk to the DM. I know last time that happened to me my DM helped me and let me change classes / multyclas to make it more fun for me. But I never felt like fun was taken awey just cuz my party members were doing better damage

    Weird to see a wizard of all people complain another character is too squishy.

    Wizard might well have had some legitimate complaints but his obnoxious attitude and jealousy really didn't do him any favours. Hard to sympathize with a guy who lashes out at a player for not sucking!
    My current Favourite Multiclass is (Pathfinder 2e) Summoner with Beastmaster dedication, its a ton of fun playing three characters in combat!

    Since you asked about favorite multiclass.
    I play multiple campaigns but my favorite character of one of those is a wood elf samurai fighter with the sage background and linguistics feat. I plan to add a dip into tempest cleric after level 7 as I want the Courtier feature beforehand. I really love this character as I play them as a linguistics scholar with an excellent read in people and society (the overlap of their studies means they are also very good at anthropology and psychology). They are melancholic at times due to still mourning the loss of their late fiancé who died in a wild creature attack, one my character still blames themselves for because they have a compulsion to look after others and feels they failed to protect the one person who meant the world to them. These feelings are not helped by the fact that their fiancé brother, a former friend, also blames my character in their grief for the loss of their sibling and has a one-sided blood feud with my character now. But that’s neither here nor there.
    The party meets my character when an npc ally they are seeking has gone missing, the same npc who is the local guide and friend of my character who is in the area studying the ancient ruins. With my character being the last known person to have seen the npc, and fully combat trained enough to hold their own, the party and I set off and find our npc ally captured by a pirate crew, all with fiend pacts. Some careful planning has us able to successfully release and escape with our friend to safety, only to find out the npc was trying to prevent a far worse disaster. And that’s some of the beginning of how my character got pulled into the party.
    Some recent highlights is that the monk discovered information that highlighted their character arc of becoming a better person and my character shared with him their secret about their fiancé. We managed to bring our wizard back to life when he fell in a battle after the pirate rescue mission. And we managed to purge and fight back against the evil fragment of a god of spite and wrath that had long possessed the monk (family sword situation and wouldn’t leave him be and his arc meant he finally decided he wanted to change his fate for the better). My character has also acquired our wizard and monk as new students of theirs, and the cleric has basically been adopted as the honorary little sister. My character is still trying to figure out how to relate to the ranger but they both share the fate of already being marked and noticed by the god of warriors and storms, so that will likely come into play soon. As for the artificer, I believe “conflict” (table approved) is in the horizon for this pair. Both are scholar and of the same faction but their approaches to research, their priorities, and so much more are in direct conflict with each other. For now, both have a deep respect for the other, which is likely to change as they have to compromise more and more for the sake of their close proximity. Professional respect won’t be enough if neither is willing to bend, and these two are weirdly the most stubborn about the traits that put them in the most conflict. It’s going to be a juicy storybeat, for sure.
    Anyway, as you can see, this is definitely my favorite character and I play them in a rather roleplay/storytelling heavy campaign with lots of political intrigue. Combat is tough but also not the priority. One of my biggest joys is playing this character who is very nuanced, smart, wise, strong, and charismatic, but is also deeply and realistically flawed. They are someone who is a caretaker who has a compulsion for it, and often takes on more responsibility than they should or is fair to them, and yet they are trying so very much to break that habit and learn to live for themself. Not to mention they are still learning to live with their own grief regarding their loss, the unmoored feelings they have had from suddenly loosing their support system right after, the fears they have over not being enough to protect what’s important to them, their fight to be independent and stop giving in to their toxic family’s expectations of them (parentified eldest child but like, of a well off family so even more hang ups there), and so so so much more. The group theme is “finding/returning home” and defining what “home” means. Yeah, found family is going to be a huge theme here. My character has already slipped into the role of being one of the “parents” and/or “older siblings” of the party but it’s one they feel more comfortable with. Already the party members are learning to call my character out on their hypocrisy and I adore it.
    But enough about me. Thank you for sharing the video. It was nice to listen to and definitely gave me some food for thought.

      The Wizard sead that he wouldn't play with a gish which is A character that is skilled in both physical combat and the use of magic. The other two words are well not really nice so I sincerely them.
