this is how you should treat a betta not in those small plastic cup.
Right petstores shouldnt handle them if they can afford small divided tanks like other places.
Those are just temporary though
But I agree
I have 463 male Bettas, do I need 463 tanks like these. I mean plastic cup is too much but I just keep them in a simple 5 litre tanks.
Call them "sauce containers" and it shuts up most people who try to argue about the plastic cups

Me too - since she was 4, my daughter, who's 19 now, collected cool rocks on walks with me and her Dad - I put them in my 75g in my living room - great memories!!
CJ Black That’s precious! My 55 has this rock my stepdad carved into a heart as a gift for my mother, with their initials carved into it. I like to think that having it on display in the tank helps them solve their disagreements lol

this really helped. i did not want to put my koi in a small bowl but im overwhelmed with basic necessities. getting a bigger tank (10 gal) is a given but i needed feedback on filters/heaters/plants and this video was everything thank you.

Both tanks were beautifully scaped!
I have a female betta that went from 1/2 pink and black (head and 1/2 body pink and rest black) she gradually became all black with an almost aurora-ish quality.
It's cool that the red in his fins are just visible when he's not swimming, and spreading his fins :)
Richard has marble genetics! He’s not sick, just extra cool. Marbles can change so completely that you wouldn’t recognise them. It’s not as obvious with all that dragon scaling, but he’ll probably continue to change.
Very nice, much better for the fish. I always get a bit sad when people hold Bettas in small pot.

I know bettas dislike flow, but my plakat i had in my 55g community tank used to love swimming in the flow of the HoB filter. He would actively swim back and forth through the flow of the return even though there was plenty of very low flow areas in the aquarium.

I'm just getting my first beta I didn't know I had to be a chemist LOL I just got normal substrate in a 5 gallon tank of course I filter and a heater but I don't know all about that other stuff

For a betta tank green sludge limiting flow sounds great, I mean sure it doesn't look good but it sounds like it provides filtration while limiting the flow

STOPH8N TRYLOVE yes, but they would need each 10 gallons so if you were to get two you would need a 20 gallon tank, and a lot of hiding spaces

Hi Mike great scape, its looking awesome. Just looking for some advice, my halfmoon has a number of rips in his tail. He doesn't have fin rot, but wanting to know how to speed up the regrowth process of his tail. The tank has a nu ber of Indian almond leaves and im feeding him a variety of foods from bloodworms to vegetables to omega one betta pellets and kelp pellets. The growth just seems to take forever. Any hints, tips and tricks you could suggest? Thanks

I remember seeing someone use a floating ring to prevent their floating plants from growing too much over the surface of the tank. I think it was just a plastic tube with the ends attached, so it's like a floaty?

This is awesome. I want to buy a little betta hammock for mine. I think he will love it! I’ve totally developed a love for Betta. I have a Veiltail Betta named Blueberry (AKA Blu) and I hate the small tank, no filter bullshit they do to them. It’s cruel!

Ive noticed a few aqua scapers to use floating plastic tubes to keep floating plants in a certain area.

Same thing happened to my king Betta it was pure two tone blue then over time some red came in on the fins in the same places you only really see it when the light shines through.

My betta Master was a solid orange color when I bought him. As he grew half of his tail fell off and grew back purple. Looks like richard is going through growing changes like master did.

Awesome setup, I'm new to planted aquariums but i didn't see or hear anything about the Nitrogen cycle with this setup. Is it not neccesary with betta's? Thank you for your great work.
its necessary, but he kept the media in the filter and original substrate just added on to it so the good bacteria from the original cycle is still there.
Does your betta "redecorate"? Mine would always uproot his live plants and move em.
