Quick personal connection from a stranger, flattery, flattery, declarations of personal wealth, employment status and philanthropy, flattery, flattery, then sudden requests for money for the weirdest reasons - no money for food, work equipment failure, family illness, legal problems etc etc etc. My line in the sand is that NONE of my friends, lovers, relatives have ever asked me for a loan for anything more than a cup of coffee. I feel sad that these victims self esteem is so low that they are susceptible to these attacks and the money for love line blurs.
I’ve noticed that a lot of the people that have been successfully scammed haven’t dated since the 70s or 80s. A lot of widows/divorcees that got married as soon as they left high school. These women on here need to spend that money on themselves in their family invest improve their life. They need to get their hair done their make up maybe a little plastic surgery go to the gym just get them selves looking and feeling right so they can meet a real man!
This lady was super cool finding several other victims and warning them.
she was that savvy but she is a nurse who believes that rich people go to the hospital for lunch when they are short on funds.....
I could not respect a man who asked me money off the bat and most self-respecting men would not ask their woman for money!! Not until you're married or in a very serious relationship where you are sharing everything.. BAFFLES THE BRAIN!!!
I agree. That would be a HUGH turnoff. I think many of these people just get so down, they lose self-esteem. They're just in a bad place. On the other hand, if I'm that down, to know that a "bum" is interested in me, that would make me feel worse. I'd have to get away from him quick. I'm thinking, darn, I'm really messed up if this is the best I can do.
Same!! I thought I was just old fashioned thinking that
This goes both ways. Men have also been taken advantage of by scammers (either women or pretending to be women) appealing to their generosity.
Exactly, such a turn off and a clear sign of wrong intentions.
You couldn't lend me a fiver could you, for a cup of tea. I'll pay you back.
Yes, there is a way to stop this, DON'T SEND MONEY! You will see they will call you all kinds of names and then move to their next victim.
Right?!? If people stop sending money to COMPLETE strangers, this stops now. It's literally that simple. Talk to them all you want (even though they aren't real), but Nigerian scammers have been a known thing for YEARS. The oil rig ones crack me up (although I feel for the people who have lost money by trying to be 'nice'). These 'engineers' are telling people they have to buy machinery for a freaking oil rig? Yeah, that's not how it works. The billion dollar oil rig company pays for their own machines!
Seriously! Just stop sending these people money FFS.
'i'm hungry, send me some money otherwise I i have to go to the hospital'. If anyone falls for that, he/she desreves to be scammed.
Especially an RN!

Golden rule if a woman can't take care of herself and willing to ask a complete strangers for money without physically meeting me not on my watch if I take a person out and spend money on a date I don't mind because I'm getting to know her but sending them money hell no 😆
That is correct, it is an absolute scam.
Well I have learnt the hard way but now I don't care who it is if anybody ask me for anything I don't care what it is I automatically blocked them
Another plain Jane flattered out of her money. “I would love to get married to a woman as beautiful as you are”. 🙄 They never learn.
'What have you eaten .' ..big red flag. It's part of the scammer script bizarrely
I've recently learned it's a part of the grooming process.
I think they have a script with questions and quotes and e mails they will send to their victims. How could someone you have never met or seen his face says to you' I cannot live without you, you are the air that I breathe' 😳 and you literally believe that and empty your bank account...come on ladies

I do not like the phrase "we met online" or "online dating". This isn't meeting, and this isn't dating. What a world we live in, when people are so starved for human contact that they call this "intimacy". Even thirty years ago, people would have laughed at the possibility.
I hope you get another dog. They would never do you wrong.

Yes, why doesn’t she help the homeless? I’ve done charity work at various churches. Quite satisfying to help a real person.
Loneliness will make someone vulnerable.

How do you fall in love with a person YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN?????
This so much!! I cannot comprehend grown people calling someone they have never me their boyfriend.
Even worse is the ones who want to get married and buy a wedding dress and plan a wedding for something that will never happen, what they are doing is buying a fantasy
Its lust lovetakes time
Never met? Hahahaha😅
How is it that she finds someone else's thing suspicious but when a complete, rich stranger, who couldn't afford to buy food to eat, asked her for money she didn't find that suspicious?
I reported several profiles of a 4 star general who was writing those typical comments under some comments of women (like me). Facebook refused to take it down. This is something I really do not understand. This general for sure has not the time to report those fake profiles himself. It is so obvious, why are they not removed and “against community standards”?
I’m shocked how many people fall for these scams
Medical professionals who believe in “visions” terrify me.

The people who get scammed all start out saying how aware they are of scammers and they're not looking for love, yet they miss the flashing red lights every time.
They don’t realize how different the world is now. They have matured in every way, except with dating, their minds are still teenagers. It’s sad.

But there are times when scammers can come across as educated, polite individuals with an excellent command of the English language. If the texts originate in places like Nigeria, for instance, you may be talking to a young teacher or engineer who, for reasons of very low government salaries, are desperately looking for a sure and fast way to supplement their meager income. This happens more often than most people realize. It's not always the uneducated dunce that showers their mark with insufferable "pigeon English."
I need $100 to eat . . . and it has to be in bitcoin. Gee, this might be a scammer, maybe?
Why do these women keep shelling out all this money to these guys when they have their own living expenses to cover. I don't get it! I'm single, fully employed and have a side business and can't imagine doing this for these grown men. I have bills to pay!

She doesnt really understand social media and the internet
Why do they always ask what you ate for breakfast?
Also, never send money to anyone unless it's your family (is you get along with them)and you don't expect it to be paid back.
In my opinion... meeting people online is nice to chat too to pass the time...BUT...as soon as anyone starts talking about money I'm done with the foolishness. I work too hard to give my money to an online image.🤑💰
I honestly don't think there's a way of stopping these scammers. People simply need to be informed. Educate yourselves! You don't need to learn the hard way. And please! For goodness sake! DO NOT SEND MONEY TO A STRANGER! Why does this happen so often?! Don't allow sweet talk to brainwash you! If you've never met the person, then you don't know them. Simple.

It's like catching water with a sieve, you may get a few droplets trapped in the sieve, but the bucket underneath will be full of those that got away. People need to stop thinking that love equals emptying your bank account and your future.
The ONLY WAY to stop them is only one way because they will never stop, BE INFORMED!!!! DO NOT GIVE A STRANGER ANY INFO NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY!!! Remember to them its a job!!! Only after YOUR MONEY!!! Thats all!!! Not your heart!!!!
Here’s an idea; try dating someone in your community.
But then they would have to go out make an effort be interested in OTHER PEOPLE wont happen
