If you compare the previous model Transit with 3.7 engine with 6 speed automatic, the previous Transit average around 15-16mpg, and like you stated, if you get 18mpg on new transit with 3.5 engine and 10 speed automatic, that's a substantial improvement from the previous model. If your expecting over 20mpg on these heavy vans, it won't happen unless you get a 4 cylinder diesel. In comparison the 4 cylinder 2.3 ecoboost on the Ranger crew cab in a real world average around 20-21mpg with 1/4th of the less weight as transit. If you compare old Econoline van with the the great engine of 4.6 or 5.4, they average between 10-14mpg, the new Transit is a great improvement.
This van is fantastic for large families. I thought it was hilarious you said dugger or church van. Things you didn’t mention, you can pull seats out and reconfigure them to fit your families needs. The mid roof and high roof have extra storage cubbies and area for an entertainment system. The seat material they call vinyl. You can get cloth, leather or vinyl. The XL comes with vinyl floors and the XLT standard with carpet. Also apple car play and android comparable. Your van didn’t have the last row bench which is why there was so much area for storage. If you have the full 15 passenger van that’s what the last cup holder and plug are for.
To your comment about MPG, I'm upgrading to this from an '06 Silverado crew cab that gets about 15mpg with a fraction of the carrying capacity, so I call 18mpg a win in my book.
4:50 you wouldn't want your phone in there because it looks like the dash will cover it when you close the door and will have to open the door to get access to it.
I'm not a fan of Ford Transit but because of the new looks in the front makes it a little bit Bold for me! I would probably check my local Ford dealer to get a test drive on this van. I would say it should not be so that bad because this van is still rear wheel drive!
I like the new front body work. The dashboard, not as well. As for the cell phone...put yours in the pocket, then slam the door.....LOL It shuts against the side of the dashboard. It would crush a cell phone.
I got one great family van, that holder that has the no phone sticker ,if you rest your phone there then you close the door you will smash your phone with side panel
This salesman is knowledgeable about most everything on this van, but lacks Common Sense when it comes to the cubby hole in the doors that say DO NOT PUT CELLPHONE IN HERE . If your phone is tall , when you shut the door, you’ll crush your phone. If your phone is short , and you close the door, you can’t use it !!!

Thanks for elaborative introduction
Do any seats fold down?

The dash will crush the phone if you put it in there.
What’s the weekly gas on that big boy?? I need to get one I’ve been looking for a while now!
Is it rear traction.?
Can the seats fold down if you need more storage than seating?
I dont think so.... we looked at a 2019 and 2020 today.
That is incorrect.
Great video! How many miles did it have!
I think around 12,000, but I don't really remember.

Nice Van! 👍
Put your cell phone in it and close the door... That's why
What cell phone? That pocket only holds broken plastic, glass, circuits, and battery acid. Great for recycling cell phones🤪
That is not what you are suppose to do in every transit
They removed the last sits that’s what the cup holders are there
My 2021 E350 7.3 with 4.56 gears would crush it on gas consumption
Ok
