Just picked up a double live album from Derick and the Domino's found used in perfect condition. What a treasure/ killer album.. Seemed like Clapton used a lot more wah pedal then. It's really amazing. Bobby's playing is smokin on that album. Thank you for telling all these stories behind the times and the music.
When I see you've uploaded a new video, I get excited like a kid on Christmas morning. You had me laughing hysterically with some of those stories today. I really appreciate you guys.
Keith Moon stories are great. Any story by Bobby is great. Hearing Bobby tell Keith Moon stories is priceless! Also it's great to him talk about his 'spent' youth. Honesty is always the best policy.
Bobby you gotta be the coolest cat on earth. I know about reinventing myself brother. Pro & semi pro my whole life. I hope I can see you someday live. Your vocals blew me away wayyy before I ever even dreamt of being a musician. 10 yrs old maybe? Love this man. Thank you
Bobby, yes the 1960s were very hectic but you were one of the people whose music we "hippies", "stoners" or whatever label sticks, all listened to. I have listened to those albums in varying states of stimulated consciousness and enjoyed them all, have always been a great fan of Eric Clapton, since the Beano album.
It's amazing how your life, regardless how remarkable, is savored as an experience and not boasted. You're aware of it and that alone brings you happiness. It happened and you enjoyed it all. Your reality is you love your wife, your pets and your art. You are a man so comfortable in the now. You place no value on things, only on the joy of doing. I admire you and how truly blessed we all are to hear you speak. Everything and everybody are equal in all of your stories. You have no ego, no envy, no meaness. You're a wonderful person of enormous talent.
Love your memories that you tell us. I wish you had been mentioned more for your contribution to All Things Must Pass.I'm an Harrison fan and to know all you did at Friar Park is amazing.
Coco seems to know when to keep things rolling and when to sit silent and let things flow out of Bobby. Those can be really revealing seconds and moments. His voice will trail off, but he fills in those last little details. These are the moments...
we used to love our martin houses. They like to nest in high places so the tallest pole we could get we used to mount it on. Over time though the damn sparrows took over and drove the martins away.
LOVE LOVE LOVE all these gems of stories, Bobby & Coco...Moonie is close to my heart, being a Who fanatic. Any story I've not heard before is such a treasure. How about the other Who members? Any stories about them? How did Keith feel about the other Who members and/or the band? Did he seem happy?
Many I'm sure saw the famous clip of Ringo Starr and Moon talk about getting on and needing their medicine... quote unquote. The story I heard and believe is Moon was trying to deal with getting his life on track, quit the drinking and drugs, but he was the life of the party, and expected to Wow crowds, when he was himself, he didn't feel he could live up to public expectations, but he could have done it for his own good and forced acceptance, that he'd been there, done that...already. There's much hope that Roger Daltrey will helm the proper document film to Keith Moon's life. I love the insider stories as well, Rock is what I'm most passionate about
Have you read the 'Dear Boy' book about Keith Moon (Tony Fletcher) ? Best bio' I've ever read (as one who majored in English my thoughts are that Dear Boy could be a text for bio' writing...it's so comprehensive admiring of the subject but upfront about Moon's violence towards his wife, drunkenness etc). Book's so good I wrote to the author and told him as much (and he, God bless him, replied) !
@@MorGuitarz ; glad ya' read it. I'm 57 ; forty odd years ago when I got kinda' crazy into record collecting/ music there existed precious few books on rock'n'roll, no real analysis etc. That's all changed, I guess time's like that. For me it was just Cream/ Circus and Rolling Stone (and fine local mags' here in Australia, late 70's etc). Mojo is a fabulous English magazine which - in my humble op' - has no real comparison. It's certainly worth checking if ya' into in depth stories - indeed extremely well written/ researched stories - on all manner of bands/ musicians. It's available in the U S, I've seen it there on visits there.
Bobby, you said in one of your recent videos "Well, I guess we're running out of things to talk about." No your not. We just sharing life's stories now. You and Coco have shared so much with us already, it's like we got a little commune going on here. I'd be happy watching you and Coco cook dinner together and we could all share a glass of wine while doing so. You two must know some good southern cooking recipes.
Bobby, I love how much you LOVE CoCo!!! You deserve someone like her in your life!! I love that you are a Nation of Two! Bless you two, I hope I can have such a Love Nation in my life some day...Thank you for demonstrating the real thing! Peace and Love
I was born and raised in San Diego and remember saving coke bottles to turn in for 25 cents to buy a gallon of gas to get to the beach and back, yeah I'm a old guy !!!
My husband did the coke bottle in Jacksonville, went to school with Van Zandt & woods with bands practice sessions. My brother loved San Diego, released from Marines, explaines Bobby's happy nature
I'm an old guy to. In the 50s the Clinch river near Grandma's house in SW VA would flood every Spring. When the flood receeded we borrowed a wheelbarrow, gathered the bottles left behind. Then headed for the little store for candy.
You all down there in Texas better get your electrical grid figured out. It's probably a good idea to get your own generator installed. These storms are going to continue to get worse.
Recalling the bio on Harrison, his mansion his first real buy with Beatles money was fairly isolated iirc, our folks retired two and half hours North of the MN metro, that's rustic about 20-30 years back, very over-grown with trees, they didn't pave the roads, but they did build homes where we once had tents and campers! People take to the lake in jet skis and regular skis when it's often the tranquility that's best, getting away from the Metro City life. The news was an International hack of the pipeline put the computerized business end in suspension, but not the actual moving people can do without electronics,I love electronics though, but evil people ain't going anywhere, and they seem to be breeding like rabbits
Great stories all around, in particular the "ghost" spiritual stories.. Good to see ya back at it. Do you remember a guitarist "Marty"? He used to jam with you in the early 70's? Big tall hunkering guy from TN? We worked together for a while in a restaurant chain?
I had to fly down to Corpus Christi(from Burbank)last weekend(14th-17th) and there was some serious Thunderstorms. I use to live there in another lifetime.. Gas was $2.49 a gal vs $4.89 out here in Cali..
Damn man, look at all that hair. (Coco: Well, leave it alone. Is good.") "Well it's-a one for the money (bad-um bum), A-twowa for the road (bad-um bum)..." For a bald head, mine's pretty decent I've been told. But you can't be a front man with a bald head. Even a side man, ugh. We gotta go with cool hats and outfits to make up for it a little. Anyhow, can you guys imagine Eric Clapton going bald at 30? LMAO
thank you for the great video bobby and coco!! when you mentioned gas I couldn’t help but wonder if you guys have any cool or unique cars yourself? I know eric is into his Ferrari’s
Just curious ...Do you think it’s time to thin the paintings herd ( yeah I know about the online offerings ) ...but a two car garage full !! Meanwhile ..you two ..keep on keeping on 👍😎🎸
As always, great stories, a great attitude. With all your latest problems with water and flooding? Did you guys ever consider perhaps maybe you should be living in a house on stilts? lol, Just saying. I'm sure glad that both you and Eric sailed thru. You both have more to share. Peace & Love.
Love these videos. It's like having morning coffee with a couple friends, you guy's have helped alot thru covid isolation. Wonder if you're white cat is deaf like mine?
I saw Steve Marriott play in a little club in S Carolina in the 80s and after the gig he hung out on the beach with my friends and I, smoking weed and having a good time. He absolutely slayed everyone with his humor and of course we were in awe of his voice during the performance earlier in the night. Cool guy . One of my favorite memories
I have noticed some unflattering asides about Delaney here and there..no doubt justified...how about a mention about his vocal ability..he struck me as quite exceptionally gifted..such dynamics, nuance and range...Bobby..you must have learned a few tricks off him?
these conversations are better gifts than things could ever be.....thank you.
Great R&R History! Anything but a waste of time! Keep it coming!

Maybe checkout "Delaney and Bonnie featuring Eric Clapton" ; phenomenal. The Doms' live in '70 are some outfit for sure.
Dont forget Jim Gordon. On got to get better in little while he is just Magic
I believe Joe Walsh once said one of the scariest things that ever happened to me was that Keith Moon decided that he liked me. LOL!

"Didn't go to Keith Moon's house to read the bible"-thanks-I snorted sparkling water out my nose on that one
