So fucking interesting and well made. You're by far the most slept on channel on youtube. Already showed several friends it, looking forward to the rest.
Lets just say that first battle was a learning experience getting gaped that hard. I can honestly say driving and learning from clubzerohour made me a better touge driver overall.
Great documentary. There are a lot of moped drivers in Hawaii so please be careful on Tantalus. I used to drive up there on my moped myself when I lived there but I'm sure it not that bad of a problem late at night.
I never would've thought of Hawaii as a touge haven but it makes total sense. It might take me 50 years but I'll at least come and drive these roads as a boomer lmao
@@RidgeChaser yea, basically Test Drive Unlimited is not only restriced to Tantalus. It is open world racing game with whole Hawaii as a playground. If you would like to try this game, or if you have any questions feel free to ask. ;)
We won’t double lane certain roads or spots where we can’t light check or it’s just really busy. But every time else there’s no point not to and with light checking we haven’t had an incident with traffic at night in years
Me and a friend have been touge racing are local road for a year or so now just the two of us not even know touge was a thing until I found your channel and realized we aren’t the only two driving passes like that Since then we have found a couple other drivers and gotten a small seen going thanks for that
There is actually alot of news coverage of this mountain both good and bad and of all sorts of things that happen. This is not only for cars there also mopeds motorcycles there is bikers, hikers, joggers, dog walkers, skaters, tour guides, etc. So much activities including hunting residents tourists locals a like. Crashes happen alot cuz tourist dunno bout this place locals dont even at times much people push their luck. But most of all the natural elements of the mountain makes the road very unpredictable. I been doin this since 1995 and everytime i come up its different and it no matter how good and grippy tires u have they wont grip on storm runoff, and especially tree saps and berries. But believe some cars have launched twigs, gravel, branches to other cars.
Did I see you on Saturday while I was chillin in my wagon at the bottom of the downhill? Thought I recognized the voice as these 2 guys talked about their run
God, I wanna go back to Hawaii now. Also there are crazy consecutive hairpins and more on mount heklelEa (idk spelling sorry), as well as volcanoes nation park. Unfortunately they are monitored and close at night (I think) but you may get a run or two in if you play your cards right.
It will be interesting to see the similarities and differences of the content based on different types of challenges. Albo's take shows a proficient video producer getting insight into the touge world. Over here, we're touge drivers figuring out how to use video production to best tell a story.
How is the situation with animals in the road and unexpected road hazzards out in hawaii? Are there often crashes due to road conditions that couldn't be completely accounted for?
Here are some answers from the locals⁝ ⁕ Plenty cats, and boars ⁕ And that random dog hoard ⁕ I hit a boar before lmao. Was coming into the turn and it popped out the bushes and I punted that føcker, sent it tumbling but it got up and ran away lol. so yeah looks like its a handful out there haha
@@RidgeChaser Honestly, I'd feel pretty bad if I hit someone's cat trying to race. The "dog hoard", not so much. If you just have a bunch of dogs and you let them run off-leash without a care in the world, then I have no sympathy for your or your dogs. This may have something to do with the fact that the subdivision I live in always seeming to have a few people at any given time who let their, often aggressive, dogs run freely, and that I've actually been attacked by one while peacefully walking my own dog on a leash.
@@Rory695 cops have already been strict af on tants ever since the biker incident a couple years ago and there’s MANY drift spots here but those are for those in the know.
So I just pulled up Goolag Maps to find the road these guys likely run on, and I just about wanted to cry from the number of houses I saw. Is it too much to ask for new-home builders to leave a few twisty roads alone here and there? Sincerly, a guy from Alaska where some D-list "celebrity" from the Discovery Channel just built his homestead (and attendant driveway) on a blind corner of this area's one remaining touge road, and the road leading there is also about twice as residential as it was 10-15 years ago.
Worth mentioning that we don't have a track down here so the street is where a lot of car enthusiasts turn to.
Very true - I have a feeling some drivers will emphasize this in some future vids =)
Impossible to have a real race/tune scene here with these shitty roads
Same story here in Western NC. But every backroad is amazing and only an hour from the tail of the dragon so who needs a track
"Some Mitsubishis crash into the harbor and Hawaii is a state"
Damn, you really had to do them like that.
I mean, yeah maybe I left out a few details.
dont trust these bots. ( there used to be a scam bot comment)

As far as I’ve seen police started frequently checking after kicking people out of scenic area after 11pm years ago
POG bois we on the map
indeed thanks for making it happen!

very much liked the talking and backstory! it is cool to have a lot of new things happening in one video
I wish the UK had anything approaching a scene like this, this looks amazing
I miss home. And the only thing I miss is This.
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO , Welcome to Hawai'i Homie
@clubzerohour on top.
Yes, I used to race at Tantalus... in Test Drive Unlimited game. Amazing video, big like from me. 👍
Wow I didn't realize that Tants got representation in a video game... this will be intersting to check out for sure

@Christopher Natale unfortunately yes, map in TDU is not laserscanned, its a shame but still we are talking about arcade open world game from 2006 ;)
I have heard of stories and a few glimpses of Hawaii's scene. Thank you for covering their story!
The locals have been kind enough to share it 💛 Glad you are enjoying it
What a great tour. Always nice to hear touge stories!
Indeed, big props to the tour guide! He had a story for virtually every corner haha
YES YES YES HAWAII TOUGE

@@RidgeChaser come to find out I think you are local to us I’ve seen some roads that we drive on your videos
A couple years back the news covered this pass, and someone apparently ate it really bad by the houses.
It’s pretty normal for people to eat it every so often. A lot of normal cars too
Well it was in the news so that’s why I brung it up

would be sick. should start a group buy to pay some modder to do it. should be simple to make just off google maps street view and other youtube vids

Only the WS6 is automatic in this video - everything else is manual
