Yes, Crystal, a million times, I love putting my cooled baked sweet potatoes on the my cuisanart food processor for a velvety smooth texture. Bless you, those strings are valuable and healthy fiber. Boiling the sweet potatoes makes them lose their flavor and vitamins. You are fabulous 🤩
Thank you so very much for your tip on puréeing the sweet potatoes in the food processor. I just tried it! IT WORKS! I didn’t find one string. I’m freezing my batter until 3 days before Thanksgiving and I will try your tip on putting butter and brown sugar in the pie crust.
Thank you for the tip in using the food processor to purée the sweet potatoes 🍠. EXCELLENT idea. Also I love the tip on spreading butter on the crust and brown sugar. Thank you 😊
This is my favorite pie but questions???? I’m the only one that eats it in my family. And my family is strange so 😊 But I want to know how to downsize the recipe for one.. I have a granddaughter (15 months)who is allergic to dairy & eggs (whole eggs). So how do I make it without the eggs? Is there away? And how can I freeze it for later.? Your presentation was on point. I never used the orange but only the vanilla & lemon. Thank you kindly.
I’m not sure that you can make it without the eggs, milk and butter, but you could roast a sweet potato, mash it, then add in the cinnamon, brown sugar and nutmeg. Then use that to fill those mini graham cracker pie crust you can get from the grocery store. Not quite the same but a variation😊
I'm not sure how the pies would taste, but here are some vegan substitutions. 1/4 cup apple sauce per egg. Use a plant based butter instead. Coconut milk for reg milk. Good luck
Nice tip with the layer of butter and brown sugar. Liked and subscribed

So we’re actually using yams for this pie and not sweet potatoes? Just making sure before I go out and buy ingredients.😊
