@ immaculate grid has categories for playing different positions for a minimum of one game, so these guys would get you really low rarity scores, but I initially thought it was team based and not position based when I saw the title
I'm pretty sure at least one person in the MLB played baseball last year, correct me if i'm wrong. It happens sometimes in the minors, but it's less common in the big league.
Love this - what I’d also love to see is a “wait, they DIDNT play there?” Team. You mean to tell me Joey Wendle didnt produce 2.2 WAR for Gabe Kaplers Giants?
Thank you for saying what needed to be said about Brandon Crawford. Seeing him in a Cardinals uniform hurt me just as bad as seeing Lincecum in an Angels uniform.
He’s a white american baseball player who posts progressive political things from time to time. Rare in MLB, most of these guys don’t talk about politics but you can kinda imagine where the majority of them land on the political spectrum
Connor Wong became a pretty good Utility player for me, in my OOTP save! :D Played every position, except CF for my Red Sox, most of them very adequately.
"The way I was raised was to be nice to everybody. Be kind. Be respectful. Be a good person. There is no reason to make anybody feel like they’re less than, or that they’re marginalized -- especially the people who statistically are marginalized in this country." Mark Canha. How much better would the world be if everyone agreed with Canha?
Can we get an honorable mention for Luis Castillo who had an AB this year due to the starting catcher getting hurt and the backup having started the game at DH? I know pitchers hitting was common in years past, but the universal DH is a thing now so...
Should have had ex Phillies SP/RP Vince Valesquez in left field. He played there in a close game in the 9th inning and threw out a go-ahead runner at home plate and I think even made an acrobatic catch.
@ In MY opinion, Bailey is just calling him a "Stupid Liberal" as a joke since, him being a large advocate for specifically the LGBTQ+ community has landed him in hot water with conservatives. Even though im not sure how dudes kissing is political
@@rev_dudesonnot conservatives, more accurately some loud and prejudiced bigots taking issue with their goal being to stir up quiet and agnostic bigots.
pissing and shitting in outrage that my short king/utility god Christian Vazquez has been snubbed from the 3B ballot not the Royce Lewis injury contingency we needed, wanted, or deserved, but the Royce Lewis injury contingency who stepped up* (*for one game)
Connor Wong was a good shortstop in college at Houston, so I’m not surprised to see his versatility in the big leagues. Austin Nola was also a good defensive shortstop at LSU before ultimately becoming a catcher in the big leagues.
Maybe not as good but Jared triolo played in RF for the pirates this year for two innings and made a diving catch to force extra innings, pretty funny to have your gold glove utility infielder play outfield. He did play 7 games in outfield for AA but other than that completely new to him.
Judge should have played a lot of left field last year. They knew the only position Dominguez was ready for was center field. They should have had Judge getting comfortable in left in case they needed Dononguez to take center. And, as it turned out, they would have really benefitted from having Dominguez trying out center to see if he could be ready and contributing by October.
I’m a brewers fan, but not putting the Rizzo 2B/Baez 1B incident, along with when Travis Wood, Spencer Patton, and Pedro Strop all played left field in the same game is criminal. Also throw me a bone for Jonathan Villar in center
The "Toy Field" theme from Mario Superstar Baseball was a nice little easter egg EDIT: all of the Mario Superstar Baseball music getting some love in this video makes me happy
Shohei the best hitter and top 5 pitcher lol how does that make sense crazy he did both for almost half a decade and got close to a cy young as well in 2022 its just crazy man
3:01 As a leftist, I wasn’t expecting that joke. It’s so random it was funny. Also yes, according to his Wikipedia page Canha has described himself as a liberal and ardent supporter of LGBT rights.
@@RealBrizz I might be bias as a Red Sox but I appreciate how Duran apologized right away and admitted he messed up. Still a horrible thing to say to anyone. But I forgive him, just as long as he doesn’t do it again.
I think Christian Vasquez deserves a mention at 3rd base. As a twins fan I about shit myself seeing he was starting there the last game before the all-star break.
I consider myself to be quite the baseball nerd. Around 2017 I finally realized Carlos Santana wasn’t playing 1st base anymore. Curiously I went to baseball reference and found out he had been permanently moved about 3 seasons prior.
I've been waiting for the Connor Wong utility man experience video and this will suffice. I'm pretty sure he also had some time at first AND if I also recall correctly, there was a game back In Sept last season where he was listed to play the outfield as well; don't remember if he actually did doe.
Real Blue Jays fans know when Russell Martin started games for us at 3B and a game at SS in 2018. Sad he wasn't at least an honourable mention, although I guess this is just for 2024
This will be very useful for future immaculate grids
i misunderstood the title too
@ immaculate grid has categories for playing different positions for a minimum of one game, so these guys would get you really low rarity scores, but I initially thought it was team based and not position based when I saw the title
Joe Mauer played one game in right field.
@@JamieAtSLCI will always remember that game. The commentary was hilarious.
not since this comment blew up lol
"Eloy Jimenez, who should never play the same position as Kevin Kiermaier."
Elegant prose.
yay another main channel upload

Bobby Witt Jr played shortstop in 2024.
That isnt suprising because SS is his primary position, but it is a true statement.
I'm pretty sure at least one person in the MLB played baseball last year, correct me if i'm wrong. It happens sometimes in the minors, but it's less common in the big league.
why am i getting twitter jon bois energy from this comment
HUGE whiff for not including that one time you played for Braves in 2006
It was 2001, get it right
Love this - what I’d also love to see is a “wait, they DIDNT play there?” Team. You mean to tell me Joey Wendle didnt produce 2.2 WAR for Gabe Kaplers Giants?
Never change Bailey, never change. B & W for Blackmon is hysterical.
It’s not quite Blackmon in CF weird but Randy Arozarena had a single start in center because all 3 of Seattle’s CF’s weren’t healthy.
Mario baseball music? Nice touch
I am stunned that Christian Vasquez didn’t make it here at third base, he played 3 games with 1 start at third!
And I just remembered he played a few innings at SECOND BASE in 2023 (and prior years)
Thank you for saying what needed to be said about Brandon Crawford. Seeing him in a Cardinals uniform hurt me just as bad as seeing Lincecum in an Angels uniform.
Is it really surprising that Mark Canha was on the left side of the infield?
What is this a reference to?

Unfortunately basic respect for others, especially those different than you, is called “woke” now.
Christian Vazquez made a start at 3B for the Twins, another honorable mention.
3:20 very surprised not to hear you say "someone else had to Steer the ship"
Can we get an honorable mention for Luis Castillo who had an AB this year due to the starting catcher getting hurt and the backup having started the game at DH? I know pitchers hitting was common in years past, but the universal DH is a thing now so...
I wanna see Shohei out in the outfield
5:17 all hail our defensive king, Daulton Varsho!
It's extremely fitting that Julio Teheran's likely final appearance in Major League Baseball came in Atlanta
I like that you put Bowser music for Aaron Judge. It's debatable which of them is a better home run hitter.
Is there no big boy baseball awards this year?
This reminds me of when Omar Narvaez played an inning on 2B for the brewers in 2021 or 2022
Should have had ex Phillies SP/RP Vince Valesquez in left field. He played there in a close game in the 9th inning and threw out a go-ahead runner at home plate and I think even made an acrobatic catch.
DH honorable mention to Jahmai Jones, who had the most DH starts of any Yankee not named Giancarlo Stanton or Aaron Judge.

Sick use of Superstar baseball music ❤
1B honorable mention should’ve been Jon Berti, who got a 1B playoff start in 2024 despite never playing a major league inning there before.
Rice was my fantasy catcher for weeks
Berti not being an honorable mention at 1B is criminal
BOLD choice going for Nintendo music
God the Mario Baseball music throws me back to simpler times
That reminds me of the time Omar Vizquel played one inning in right field.
Double dash intro music is elite
surprised we didn't get a taylor walls at DH
You had the chance to do the funniest thing and list Connor wong as the HM for first base
Well done
Never forget Ian happ’s tenure at second base
I was actually not aware that Cueto and Teherán played last year. The more you know!
"Brandon Crawford started at DH for the Cardinals"
Imagine hearing that sentence in 2015 - so many things wrong with it at that point...
Fun fact! Pablo Sandoval was drafted as a catcher
That canha line killed me 😂😂

another good one for first is john berti yanks put him at first in a playoff game for his first ever professional appearance there
Amed Rosario and Santiago Espinal played some RF for the Reds if I remember correctly
Just Bailey showing what his first DD team in MLB the Show 25 is gonna look like.

Mario Superstar Baseball music (chefs kiss)
RF honorable mention. Jared Triolo
Shout out to Cabrera on the Yankees who played 8 positions last year.

Bert Campaneris once played all 9 positions in a single game.
I think Taylor Ward for the Angels coulda gotten the 1B honorable mention
I swear if Dbacks Mike Leake isn't on here...

Santiago espinal played every position but first and catcher I believe
Missed an opportunity to include the Mark Reynolds CF or Alex Avila 2B with the Nationals lmaooo
Carl Edwards Jr mentioned!
Lemme just give a quick shoutout to 2016 Carlos Santana for playing left field in not one but TWO World Series Games!
Alex Bregman 2019 played half the szn at short. I don’t think he’s played there before or since.
Remember when they tried Don Mattingly at third base? :-)
I know a good Mario Baseball soundtrack when I hear it!
