- On June 19th the East Troy Electric had their annual railfan day. They ran a variety of equipment including Chicago L cars, South Shore cars, and a morning run of the Dinner train. Newly restored North Shore #761 was also on display.
Terrific video!
Thanks!
I remember those Big Orange South Shore cars. And the 4000s.
Nice documentary video of all the festivities at the Museum.
Thanks!
Great video!
Thanks!
My special needs son loves trains 🚆🚂🚃🚄🚅🚇🚈🚉🚝🚞🛤 especially antique streetcars 🚊🚋 and interurbans like those he thinks they are highly underrated forms of public transportation and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service in city streets and between cities just like they did when they were first built. He also thinks that the departments of transportation should rebuild interurban lines and the Gomaco trolley company in Ida Grove Iowa should build clones of interurbans and run these on them.
Wow really awesome video! I might have to head up there next year for this event!
Thanks! The event is definitely worth going to.
It's really cool seeing both North shore and South shore interurban cars side by side both representing their respected interurban lines out of the two the South shoreline lives on as the last interurban operating in North America the Chicago's North shore and Milwaukee was abandoned The Illinois Railroad museum owns a section of original North shoreline trackage they have a pair of North shore interurban cars and an original North shore streamlined electricliner train set although currently an operable at one time it did run it is on display currently not sure if they're going to restore it to operation or not

Yes the interurban and trolley are back again looking newer
