I am enjoying this experimentation! However, I have tested stock O3 AU antenna and Integra goggles out to 9km, and have no doubt that the system is capable of more. At 9km I was getting 5-10mbps, delivering a smooth and perfectly flyable image.
@@PattyFlipzI've DMed you the video on IG. It's actually even better than I said: 10mbps at 9.25km. Obviously it depends on the noise floor, and on both Tx and Rx ends. If you are standing next to a bunch of houses spewing out 5.8GHz, you'll get poor results.
@@PattyFlipz I really appreciate your informative videos 🙏 if I mod my goggles this way would they work with a regular dji drone? Or do I have to buy a separate Antena receiver and install it on a regular fpv drone?
@fabiomurillo3000 thanks for watching! For best results definitely have matching styles of antenna on the goggle side and fpv drone side. If it’s mismatched like LHCP to linear it will still work up to 4km, just not as far and penetration might not be as good .
Excellent videos! I'd like to do the mod (already purchased half the stuff to do it + printed the TPU) but I'm wondering if I need to change the o3 antennas or if I can keep the original ones?
I've tested my all LHCP setup with O3 antenna quads, and it seem to do just fine for anything under 4km distance in remote areas. Farther than that you notice the signal bounces up and down, not as steady. Penetration of concrete walls 1km away isn't as good either VS matching antennas during my tests. If you don't plan to change the antenna on the quad, then I would suggest just trying longer ones made for the O3 AU for now and keeping stock antenna on your goggles. Test your quad in remote locations (no interference) for good performance.
Yep I'm going to need one of these too i hope the feet i love fit this as well. I can't wait to see this available soon. If the flashbang feet are available for this I'm get the bones kit and print them here with the Proto5 logo on the feet as well.
Hi, thanks so much! Yes I think I added a lut or filter. I use Final Cut Pro and have some film like plug ins, or I play with the stock colour grading tools found in most editing programs now
Actually I’m not too sure. I feel more comfortable with manual mode though, signal output seems to be more consistent. I only use auto mode when I fly with other pilots using DJI goggles.
It's called FCC mode. It's unlocked in the US but not elsewhere. You can easily get it to work elsewhere but there might be legal consequences so do with that info as you will.
Im looking at replacing my vtx antennas for my o3 air unit, ive also god the goggles integra and im wondering if the stock antennas are linear or lhcp?
Hi, so far so good. I'm pretty confident with the custom set up. Almost hit 7km mark (remote location) the other day and just ran out of room to go any further lol. Honestly though after I posted these mods and videos, many have replied and said the stock goggle antennas were just fine, they go up to 10km without issue just like the specs suggest. Main thing is: if you plan to send it, make sure it is a remote location, no interference, no radio towers, electrical towers, metal fences, No Wifi, obstructions in your way etc.. AND ensure a very very good antenna placement where that tip of that antenna can see your goggles at all times without being blocked by the components of the drone, especially the battery and frame. If it gets blocked, get a longer version of the drone antenna to clear the blind spots. That's about it! :D
No problem. I’ll write it here anyway, could only get 3.5km-3.8km until things got too sketchy for me and had to turn around. But maybe I tested it in the wrong locations 😂 someone here said they got 9km.. need a pretty nice battery pack for that. Waiting for his specs and video :)
@@PattyFlipz 21700 Molicel 4200mAh is decent for 6 km. Or make 6Sp2 8400mah for more flight time. But for me was 4200mAh enough and i still could fly around with my 7 inch. I will do this on my G2 and probably i will do some venting holes above lenses like on old V2 for better anti fogging.
The goggles has a sd card slot you can insert to record the osd footage. If you meant how to get osd activate from betaflight you need to go into the ports and pick the uart your o3 is connected to and on the very right the pull down menu choose vtx display port MSP. (I think that’s what it is) You need betaflight 4.4 and up to use this feature . Then go to your osd elements and customizs

@@PattyFlipz i did 15 km with mjølnir antennas on the goggles v2's, 8 mbps at 15 km ! will try the same antennas on the goggles 2.
@christianmong-hansen1835 wow those antennas look like night vision goggles or something very cool. What kind of lipo you use and quad?
Awesome video and write up. I was getting nervous at the end seeing the 3.19V! Lol
For sure!! 😂 thanks for watching

there are 4 antennas on Integra.
- 2 external -> stubby
- 2 internal -> X-AIR MK II
do you know any different functions between them?

Thank you man! You’re gonna love it.
What a beautiful place to fly (and so much water to drown the drone 😀)! Hopefully your PROTOFPV P6 is released soon ;-) Can't wait ...
Thank you Axel!!
Great video!!! What filter did you use for the scenes without osd? Did you even edit it?

3km and video dropping bellow 20Mbit...man, this is the same as with the stock antennas on my drone🤔
Putting the channel to Manual mode gives you better signal?

I believe stock antennas are linear.
how much improvement you reckon from this adjustment?

How you doing?, Wow. you made gorgeous dji, have a nice day! Pattyflipz.
I’m good thank you
What was your max range with the stock Integra ? (with the same mbps)

What’s the release time on the proto6?
Ahh.. maybe in about 3 months.. I’m still in the verification testing phase
