i know this follows after Toxic, the official wiki says as such that the guy is her boyfriend and he cheats. After returning from her secret job, Britney suspects her lover has been cheating so disguises herself for the day and finds out her boyfriend is a womanizer
I think the story of the video is that the guy doesn't know that all the different girls are all Britney, so by putting disguises that's the way she finds out that he just plays aroud with different girls.

In the very last scene in the beginning sequence of the video when they are in the room with the copy machine if you look there is a guy behind in the very back right side that guy is the same guy Britney had in her toxic video when she's in the airplane bathroom before she rips his mask off ❤️

according to the video wiki, this takes place AFTER Toxic, she returns home (as a spy) and suspects her boyfriend has been cheating so dons disguises such as a barista, a gothic waitress and even his private limo driver and learns he is a cheating piece of shit. When he comes home at the end, she has the outfits laid out on the bed (the image of the three Britney's pinning him down) and she confronts him and kicks him where it dont grow back.
She disguised herself as different women to prove that he would hit on diff women or cheat on her. And he fell for it. So she reveals it was her at the end.
