  • Ja’Marr Chase was a highly regarded recruit in high school, but no one expected him to have the sophomore campaign he had in 2019. After having a really weird recruitment, Chase eventually settled on LSU and he played sparingly in 2018. Once Joe Brady came in, the offense completely changed and Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson & Ja’Marr Chase all broke out and as they continued their journey to the title Ja’Marr Chase broke numerous records along the way including the SEC record for Touchdown receptions in a season. Now he is expected to be the best WR in college football in 2020 and he will be an eventual first round pick in 2021. Here is his story!

      Everybody plays in a system that they think gives them the best opportunity to be successful,, that’s what the entire game is built around. The ability to find an advantage over the team that you’re playing against !!
      You can’t fault a team or players numbers because of them figuring out the best system for them to play within. Those numbers are a reflection of the time, effort & energy they’ve put in work wise to be the best that they can be within the offensive system that they’re using.
      Those numbers don’t just happen out of the blue for absolutely no reason at all. Those numbers happened because of the coaches & players going out on the field and earning them. The system doesn’t make the players, it’s the players that make the system !!!
      Keep in mind, Alabama, Ohio St., Oklahoma, Clemson & numerous other football programs also play out of an RPO based up tempo spread offensive system nowadays, just like LSU does now !!!
      Are the numbers for every WR that plays on those teams questionable too ???
      Regardless of the offensive system that a team uses, the players still have to go out on the field and block, throw the ball accurately, catch the ball & run with the ball to be successful !!
      It’s a new age of football that’s being played now. The age of just needing a great defense & mediocre at best offense to be awarded a mythical FBS football national championship are gone. In today’s game you have to be able to outscore teams on the offensive side of the ball !!

    Dang I miss watch Chase play.He’s for sure a 1st rd top 10 🔒.I gotta admit with Chase out the WR that was the 3rd option behind Chase and Jefferson last year in the Perfect Championship Run in Terrance Marshall on the other hand is showing everyone with the numbers he’s putting up that he’s at least right now for sure a top 20 pick.I see Chase and Marshall going top 20 in the 1st rd of 2021 NFL Draft.

    Joe Brady was the WRs coach & Passing Game Coordinator, not the QB coach. He installed a few wrinkles and NFL route combinations that college defenders just can't cover at this point in their careers. That's what opened up the offense. Good content though..

      Slight correction to the correction. Munoz was the analyst thats not allowed to coach on field so there was no true designated QB coach even though Ensminger is a former QB coach and held that title in other places. Joe Brady was the Passing Game Coordinator/WR Coach officially sharing the WR duties with Coach Mickey Joseph.

The game is now played with the complete opposite Philosophy as it was just 10 years ago. The Philosophy that they play with in today’s game is that it’s offense that wins championships, instead of it being defense that’s wins championships like it use to be just a few short years back !!!
    Playing with the Philosophy that it’s offense that wins championships, is the direct reason for the explosion in the offensive numbers that the players are putting up in today’s game !!!

      I want you to WATCH Ja’Marr Chase’s catches this season... not just the TDs but the catches. I’ll leave you a link. While you watch keep in mind: Tre Diggs, CJ Henderson, Noah Igbonogne, and AJ Terrell...
      I know you may favor shiftier quicker feet off the line of scrimmage guys... and I’m not telling you to change your mind. Rondale Moore is a STUD. But Ja’Marr Chase is an absolute LION as a WR. His ability to fight for the ball while it’s in the air and during his route is absolutely unique. He reminds me of Larry Fitzgerald at Pitt. I think that’s my take when I break this comment down to its point... I feel like your comparing Steve Smith (Rondale Moore) to Pitt’s Larry Fitzgerald (Ja’Marr Chase).
      Watch it and tell me if it adjusts how you feel. 👍🏾

      @@Fearlessleadr7 watched the highlights and compared again to Moore. Chase can win 50/50 and break a tackle for a few more yards. Moore can do that plus, has a dead leg, high step, returns punts, breakaway speed, insane power for his size and shitfiness in the open field. Chase has a chance to really prove himself this year as does moore

    • @Fearlessleadr7
      @Fearlessleadr7 4 года назад +3

      Stephen Warbington you’re not wrong to favor WRs that get more separation and turn short receptions into home runs. I just took exception to the “benefits from the Brady offense” comment.
      Yes Chase did benefit both from the offense and the accuracy and fearlessness of Burrow’s decision making... but it is very difficult to force an incompletion on Chase.
      Thanks for looking into it. 👍🏾

    • @shamichaelthompson6713
      @shamichaelthompson6713 4 года назад

      Moore was on a weaker team and he also faced much weaker competition. Chase destroyed 1st and 2nd rounders all year...as a true sophomore. His ability to win 50/50 balls and his elite strength & physicality as a WR separates him from the rest of the pack.
