I saw this a mile away. It just was a rare opportunity to get the number 1 WR that played with the QB you have with Joe l. They went oline with the 2nd round pick so all good to me.
im a dolphins fan and i wanted jamarr chase badly because he was 19 years old with nearly 2k receiving yards in college. i definately thought the dolphins wee going to get either kyle pitts or penai sewel
Chase's timing when he tracks the ball is something that any receiver has to get comfortable with. Every QB has their "fingerprints" on the way a ball in flight feels to a receiver....and there was exactly zero learning curve for him in the NFL to learn Burrow's passing nuances. Yes, Chase is an insanely dangerous receiver on his own, but I cant help but feel like his immediate familiarity with a deep ball from Burrow, and inversely, Burrow's familiarity and trust in Chase to execute his routes is what makes these 2 such a scary combination. All this is basically to say "These fellas know each other."
Yeah but that mainly explains the back shoulder throws. Most of the time Chase is wide open. Also, Chase is one of the best yak runners in the league. Many of his catches are simple 5-10 yard catches that he house calls or just makes 3 guys miss and turns a -1 yard play into a 10 yard 1st down.
Now apply everything you said to Justin Jefferson and imagine how lethal he would be with Burrow. Of course Jefferson has a veteran QB in Cousins who is no slouch as far as throwing the ball but he would really eat in a wide open passing offense.
He's just playing and running like he does...... it's that natural talent that you just can't teach He's just built that way...... look up videos when they are in practice when he has shorts on..... dudes got massive legs
Nah the scariest thing is when you realize we got burrow and chase for a couple more years each rookie contracts so the o line will definitely improve. Give burrow better protection and a whole year of chemistry with the team. Imagine how dangerous burrow/chase will be next year when burrow can actually have time👀
Best breakdown of these two I have ever seen. Great video. As an LSU Alum/Fan who watched them all 2019 LSU season; I was baffled people were questioning Burrow's input on Bengal's drafting him so heavily. This is literally a Heisman winning QB who is throwing to his Biletnikoff winning WR who he broke records with and won the National Championship with in college. Now he is his #1 NFL target. When has that ever happened from College to NFL.
The fact that they are ripping the nfl apart on their rookie season (Joe missed half his rookie season), just shows how crazy good those guys are. Those college teams had no chance when even the nfl teams can't even keep up.

Excellent...Excellent analysis. I watch/listen to/read more football analysis than I care to admit and you, Sir, are phenomenal. Your analysis is second to none. And your voice is perfectly soothing and stable. Looking forward to more; hopefully a lot more of the Cincinnati Bengals, specifically.
I’d love to see you analyze Chase again - what he’s done the past few weeks is nothing short of incredible. So much fun to watch…unless you’re trying to cover him 🤣
Ja'Marr is fantastic and was supposed to be, but I also see that Stokes is a really good corner for GB and a lot of people had their doubts. Love the work you are doing here.
I rarely, if ever, post on YT videos. But this was a TOP NOTCH breakdown of a receiver I already had a lot of respect for. Not only is he just a great rookie, he displays all the qualities that make a WR last in this league; a play-maker at heart, but selfless when it means the team will win. Even as a Chargers fan, I just can't help but appreciate how much this young man has grown on the field.
Watching this in July of '22, can't wait to see the improvements after last year. Better o-line now, and after a lot of experience and learning, I honestly think they can make it back to the big game. That Mixon TD with the nasty Chase block gets me so hyped man I love this team
Great video and commentary! Ja'Marr's deceleration and acceleration and timing is incredible. He is a smart player, and that is why he is so lethal. He is also VERY strong for a WR. Those who underestimate his strength are going to get burned. It is so fun to watch the chemistry of Burrow & Chase. They are going to get even better. Now, if the Bengals can get that O line improved, those two will be unstoppable. Loved seeing Chase and Peterson, two LSU greats, go head to head.
HELL YEAH! I literally searched RUclips for a video like this because watching his highlights you ask yourself, how the hell is he cooking every DB on cruise control. He understands the pace and subtle nuances of the game. Like a Chris Paul or Stephen Curry in basketball, so he doesn't look like an explosive elite athlete but he has elite technique, elite IQ/game awareness, rhythm, and athleticism. Thanks for the work you put into making this video.

The difficult part for receivers is adjusting to how their bodies (might) change in their mid-20's. That's when being a professional and improving your knowledge pays off. All that as it is, it was one helluva lot of fun watching Chase, Jefferson, Moss, Burrow, and all those guys at LSU in 2019.
Ja’Marr Chase has exceeded many expectations with all the drop balls and things that they were pouncing on him about he is definitely a star player and will be for a long time as long as he’s healthy 💯Who Dey!!!🔥🔥
Chase is very serviceable as TB/RB in 11 personnel. Brady used him a couple times in the position at LSU. Bengals need to work on the uptempo/no huddle offense as well.

Damn, I just found out I don't know anything about football! I knew Ja'Marr was ridiculous, but now I see exactly why. That said, I disagree that the ball at 4:25 is underthrown. Considering the lateral pursuit, the throw was placed perfectly to make the receiver adjust to the only place it could have been completed.
You don’t have THE BEST SEASON IN COLLEGE as a QB without a superstar at WR. Bengals made the perfect decision and I’m glad they did. Jamarr is uberly talented, him being selected at 5 shouldn’t have surprised anyone, perfect pick.
Burrow said it best. Chase has the lower body of a running back and has such incredible balance at the top of his routes. CBs typically cannot stay with Chase at that speed which is why it looks like Chase just glides on by defenders.
I'm glad the Eagles drafted Devonta Smith but Chase is a generational talent who was definitely gonna get drafted before my team got Smith. Bengals made the right pick by getting him. And the "tackle" argument was always absurd because their tackles aren't the issue. It's guard and center.
