Saw JP in 1978 for $6 at the famed Starwood in Hollywood. Hell Bent for Leather tour, right before they hit it big. Was stunned at the economical fingerwork of Glenn Tipton. He's a very deliberate, precise player, much like Iommi. Thanks for the vid.
Taking me back to high school JJ! The big deal in 82-83 was the Iron Maiden/Judas Priest double bill in New Haven, Ct! My metal influence lasted till March 86 when I saw Wasp/Anthrax/Black Sabbath.Coffin nailed and never could look back! Great lesson and memories though!!
Just found out about your new channel just now and your videos help me a lot! Could you please do a tutorial for rock and roll band by Boston or SoothSayer by Buckethead.
Oliver Oliver I guess so. But I guess it comes down to a question of how many metal songs I have to like before I would consider myself to be "into metal." :)
E Man I'm not sure exactly what it is, or was. My brother gave it to me. It's probably about 10 years old, and it used to have a Bigsby on it (I don't know if you can see the screw holes in the video). It's got an ebony fretboard, and I'm not sure which SG models have that. The Gibson logo is a transfer, rather than an inlay. And it's got the larger pickguard. So maybe it's some kind of Frankenstein.
She would be about 24. And Math? I remember you mentioned in your PT channel that you took Calculus & Vectors in College, and you hated it. I don't blame you at all.
That wasn't me, that must have been somebody else. I only took one math class in college and it was advanced trigonometry. But it's true that I hated it.
One of my favorite Priest songs. Great message about overcoming BS in life.
Never thought I'd see you play Priest. Kudos bro...heavy metal man.

How about a series on Santana tunes James? - if ya have not done that yet.
I use that open D and G in my playing all the time. It's mean.
But man if you're out of tune it can sound bad.

btw, I wanted this song for a long time and didn't even think to ask. Do you know how cool it is to get it, out of the blue, like this?

Coincidence how my mom was born on the same day as your Tshirt.
Oliver Oliver You can't possibly mean your mother was born in 1991. She'd only be 23 now.
Haha I was just kidding James! Great video anyways! Hope you can make more of these!
Oliver Oliver Thank God. I was trying to do the math and I'm thinking, "Well, I guess it's biologically possible..."
