The hardest working man on RUclips. Mr. Raiti keeps on bringing us the business. Joe, you keep on getting a consistent flow of new models to review. Why do I feel that the way things are going that at some point you are going to run out of new cars to review. Well, I will watch you review GM built ventilators! Hey, that’s not a bad 💡 idea! OK I might be going slowly insane. I can’t tell if that’s funny or not. Hmmm...
Thanks Philip for the compliment! I always appreciate your support! I have been told many time already that I would have cars to run out of. That was 1,000 reviews ago. LOL Thanks for having my back brother!
Joe can we get the forward view on the test drive but with another camera view of you inset in the corner? It’s great to see you when you’re talking. Loved seeing your reaction when driving the GT350 😃
That flat square part that you said that you wondered about is where the 4Motion selector knob goes. Since it is front wheel drive that piece is there instead of the selector knob.
Only extra zonk is that for the tech package I feel like it should have full power assist for the passenger. It really can’t be that challenging/expensive to do so imo but beautiful car with the color!! The wheels look like they’d shine for days in the sun. Great job Joe!!
What a great review ! I picked up an Atlas Cross Sport SE V6 with technology in metallic gray for 33K and absolutely love it. Don't think the rear looks bad, she's fat! Going to buy a box of Twinkies tomorrow morning. :)
Just bought an Atlas Cross Sport SE 4Motion. The 2.0T feels like a better motor than the V6. I don't feel the technology package really has much to offer over the non-technology. My only complaint so far is the key fob being cheap and the rear seats not being foldable from the rear hatch area.
you should have pulled into Hillsborough Auto Mart and done donuts in the lot...lol! I miss Tampa! I miss my Westchase and my Lightning! Oh well Japan isn't so bad though.
Video content feedback. If you are going to mention ground clearance let the viewers know how much ground clearance it has and note how it compares to the competition. GREAT video as always Joe.
Several manufacturers are offering 2 row midsize SUV's that complement their larger 3 row offerings. But while others (e.g. Honda, Kia, Hyundai, Chevrolet, Nissan, etc) reduce the size of their two row offerings by at least half a foot in length compared to their 3 row vehicles, the Cross Sport is only only about 2.8" less in length than the Atlas. In fact, the Cross Sport is slightly longer than Toyota's 3 row Highlander. VW apparently believes the Americans like their VW's LARGE! A lesson they've learned with the American versions of the Passat, the Jetta, the American version of the Tiguan, and the three row Atlas. Only the GTI/Golf R have resisted that treatment. Thankfully imo. One of the major advantages of the two row midsize crossovers that compensates for the absence of a third row of seats is the shorter length (typically between 188" and 192") that's more maneuverable in traffic and easier to park. So even though as a GTI owner I'm partial to VW's, I'd be apt to opt for a Honda Passport, a Hyundai Santa Fe, or a Subaru Outback if I were shopping in this category. That half foot less length in the Passport coupled with an equally large cargo space would be a major consideration.
Thanks Joe. Did you notice the headlights on the SE? The daytime running lights are only the single lights, not the doubles. Just bought one and didn’t realize until afterwards. Weird that they look like lights, but don’t light up unless I am missing something. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.
I like the Atlas CS better but I’d pick the passport. Go on the forums and check the insane amount of issues the Altas has with coolant loss, miscast engine blocks, driver door/front end rattle, water pump failure and a host of other problems. They do look great but there’s no way I’d ever buy one. Honda and Toyota have their problems too, but no where remotely near as many problems as VW.
I like this guy....likes the junk food just like me....Zingers? I'm more of a Suzy-Q type....overall great review....really makes me curious about VW...I have a 2010 Acura MDX but could be tempted to try a VW if they have good lease deals, wouldn't trust to own though due to high costs to fix them and not great reliability track record for VW. I do like the interior size and your mention of the need for a third row, NOT ME, I'll take extra size. Engine options are OK, wish they had a Twin Turbo 6!
Love this new Atlas Cross Sport, looks fant- I mean, fabulous, Joe! Reminds me of the sister Q8. Also, the interior remains unchanged from the regular Atlas. (Love the new VW logo on the steering wheel).
How is the Coronavirus situation affecting you? Because for me, as a car reviewer, the channel is taking a hit. And being in SLC, we now have a stay at home order.
Why do dealers try to portray they are actually doing a test/ comparison. This is borderline false advertising. You have a video of a Honda Passport last year.
VW has a lot of tech issues. My friend had 2 jettas. Didn’t learn the first time. 1st car push button start had a fault. Traded it in when he took it in to fix and got a new 2019 Jetta. Blind spot detection feature keeps going off for no reason. They suck
I'm not sure if I'm a fan. How does it drive in comparison to the Atlas? I think the Atlas feels under-powered. Also, seems like another soccer mom vehicle which is why I might consider the Honda Passport. Yes, it has a soccer mom feel too but at least it has some light off roading capabilities.
I'd go for 4 motion wheel drive so I can paddle shift from 1st gear to 8th gear haha also I sometimes drive sideways or upside down, keeps my attorney on retainer heehee love ya JOE - you're my BRO > tony
I’m not digging the look that much. It has potential. Wheels aren’t doing it though. Mistakes at the rear. Other makers are really bringing though Joe.
Exterior is awesome, but that interior is cheap AF!!!! That interior doesn't justify the price point, especially with a price tag of upwards of $50,000 for the highest trim model.
@@nancicelenko3144 That's really weird. The SEL feels right on par with Q5/Q7 build. Drove them side by side. Materials are all soft touch, and have the exact same feel. Even the 2.0T is the same🤷♂️

The Atlas Cross Sport looks much better than the Honda Passport
Love the rear taillights and hate that ugly front. The interior is wonderful but I'll stick with my SE Jetta and take a nice holiday instead.
That sounds like a great plan TJ!

I test drove the atlas seL 2019 model. it's very lightweight on the hood when driven.
