    As far as the “fake” exhaust tips, the salesman said that if the exhaust did come out the opening, it would discolor the chrome around the opening. Well, the exhaust discharges right behind where the “fake” openings are, so there will probably be discoloration eventually. JMHO.

      Neither are their shit ignition systems that seem to be an issue on all their newer cars. After my car wouldn’t turn off I was charged $900 to replace it. VW told me this is normal maintenance. I’m waiting for the class action to force them to fix this. They outsource everything to Mexico now so that explains a lot.

    Love it! Looks gorgeous. You can definitely tell the plastic, trim, and many other touches are straight out of the Audi Q5 (which is awesome). Tune the 2.0T with an APR+ tune, and get over 300hp/300tq, while being covered under a powertrain warranty. A regular stage 1 tune will probably yield around 320hp/340tq.

    As a real owner of this car but in blue the color of the outside makes a huge difference on the looks. Overall it drives like an Audi and it’s really nice. We got ours for 0% APR and we negotiated the price of the top spec model with the special blue color down to 47500 plus that interest rate. Would definitely recommend at a good price.

      I agree with u. The Touareg was nice, but not a chance that happens. It wasn't well received in North America. Our market won't pay 60k for a VW. That's why this Atlas exists. They did the same thing with the Passat.

    • @DMCarReviews
      @DMCarReviews 4 года назад +4

      @@garynembhard7433 If anyone has ever driven or been in the new Touareg, it's nicer than an Audi Q8, no joke! In Europe and Russia, the price tag goes up to $105,000-$110,000 for the higher trims.

      @@DMCarReviews the only European made VWs we see in North America these days are the Golf R and the Arteon. I haven't seen not one commercial ad for an Arteon, which leads me to question it's marketing, or if they're selling! VW occupies a weird space in North America. The moment they're priced over 40k USD, we put it against the Audi, which will always be more expensive.

    • @DMCarReviews
      @DMCarReviews 4 года назад

      @@garynembhard7433 Not really. What about the Tiguan, which is in both USA and Germany? The new Jetta, Tiguan, Teramont (Atlas), are found in most Eastern European countries, Canada, Mexico, and more. Each country has a different set of popular models. The only car which America lacks is the Touareg. In Europe it can cost over $100,000 well equipped. They offer the Audi Q8 as an alternative. I would still likely take the Touareg, but it's not a big deal. The Passat in Europe is more fancy and powerful on top trims, along with a very high price tag, which would put it up against the A4/A5 here. We still get one of the more powerful versions, unlike Europe, where most Passats are small diesels, or 1.4T, 1.8T gasoline engines. Only reason we don't get all these models are because of stupid brand snobs! It is the only reason why Lexus and Infiniti exist, because in Japan, there is only Toyota and Nissan, and people don't have a badge obsession, unlike other countries.

    You guys are the best! Always great reviews! I am torn between the Telluride and the Cross Sport. I drove both. I liked the Telluride better. However, I have a Passat 1.8T with the APR upgrade which transformed the car from "OK" to "Wow". I am considering doing the same thing (APR upgrade) to the Cross Sport 2.0T (if I get it). I would be happy with the base model Cross Sport.

    12:22: This engine does have direct injection. It's a further improved version (that first came available on the Audi Q7 in 2005) from the original VR6 that launched in the 90s. The FSI branding in the technical details VW provides is another clue. They only use that badge for cars that posses the actual technology. So it's not for marketing purposes.

      Atlas’s look out scores any of the other names you mentioned. It’s so American clean look and masculine. All the other ones are just either ugly, soccer mom looking or old. atlas is the only 3 row suv that feels sporty but family friendly at the same time. And it has German engine Japanese transmission. The RLine makes it look like luxury car. Going to get one for myself. Sweet!

      but please be aware that again our engine has been used for many years, our transmission has been tested and tried and the features and components are shared across our MQB platform meaning that the tec in these vehicles can be trusted. it is the first year of the cross-sport, but not the features. whereas many of these new 7-8 seater SUVS and brand new in every way. always keep that in mind when looking at long term finance.

      Koreans to me still seem plasticky and do not hold up well with timw due to cheaper materials used , from shocks thru switches all the way to engine parts .... Kia and Hyundai improved a lot but are still like Samsung and LG electronics and appliances - they do start breaking quick and parts quality is on a cheap side also seemed designed every 1 to 2 years in bit of a hurry for another redesign with out much needed attention for R&D .
      I would not buy Kia Hyundai or VW but would lease VW.
