I love when Alex is here because he shows so much personality!!!! He has such a great sense of humor that we don't get to see on his channel!!!
I just bought one two weeks ago and I'm in love with it! I chose the midnight blue exterior and peanut butter leather interior. I have the R-Line series with a V6 engine and my rims are black. Gorgeous vehicle and such a smooth ride!
How is suspension? Stiff or soft.
This into was so good the ppl sitting next to me though it was a movie trailer 😂
Not sure why I keep watching these videos. We bought a 2021 VW Atlas Cross Sport this past Wednesday. Love, LOve, LOVE IT !!!!!!
We got ours in Tourmaline blue, BEAUTIFUL COLOR !!!!
As far as the “fake” exhaust tips, the salesman said that if the exhaust did come out the opening, it would discolor the chrome around the opening. Well, the exhaust discharges right behind where the “fake” openings are, so there will probably be discoloration eventually. JMHO.
I want one but the fuel economy is pretty bad. Upgrading from my 2014 camry, I want an SUV
How's the reliability so far?
These videos have gotten way better over time! Great work!
I agree ☝️
Sofyan does a great job with editing his videos and his introductions are second to none. The fake exhaust outlets are not cool VW!
The real credit for that intro and editing goes to our videographer, Rob. He works hard and really pushes himself to do better with each video :)
@@theredline I love it man! Tell him to take a break!
@@theredline It shows, he's amazing! 👌
Neither are their shit ignition systems that seem to be an issue on all their newer cars. After my car wouldn’t turn off I was charged $900 to replace it. VW told me this is normal maintenance. I’m waiting for the class action to force them to fix this. They outsource everything to Mexico now so that explains a lot.
He’s second to the person sitting on his right.Alex I think is one of the best if not best in the field without question. My statement is not meant to take anything away from redline.
5:14 because I know you want to see it again
I am forever scarred
20:38 in case you missed it ;)
A sexy Alex appears
WTH is going on here?? On to the cake baking video.
That was traumatizing.
Love it! Looks gorgeous. You can definitely tell the plastic, trim, and many other touches are straight out of the Audi Q5 (which is awesome). Tune the 2.0T with an APR+ tune, and get over 300hp/300tq, while being covered under a powertrain warranty. A regular stage 1 tune will probably yield around 320hp/340tq.
It's overpriced, crossover junk that is very uninspiring to drive. I take it you've never driven one? Idiot.
I’m glad y’all hired Alex to clean the camera
The guy in the back- Are we there yet?
Just got my fiancé the Atlas Cross Sport SE 4motion, not all the bells and whistles like on this one but still such a beautiful car that has all she needs. She loves it and so do I! Plus, my wallet did not hurt to terribly bad!
This is a car for idiots. It rides poorly, gets bad gas mileage, less room in back/storage, no offroad capability and its a bland, generic design. Another loser who wants a shitty crossover.
@@PS987654321PS so what would be your recommendation instead?

You know, Sofyan, I've been watching your videos since I think, 2016 or so. And I have to agree with the majority of your fans, that both your intro's and the editing has risen to a "par excellence" status. ONE MORE THING! I also have to tip my hat to you, for having Alex along for the ride, and allowing him both talk time, and "eye camera-i.e. "cameo intro time", in YOUR video. You have matured to a level of professionalism, that FEW in your field, will ever attain.
alex and redline are my favorite engineers on car reviews for six years.
Me too. Didn't know they work together. Give Alex some love. He only has 40k views for the review this very same car. Redline has almost 200k.
As a real owner of this car but in blue the color of the outside makes a huge difference on the looks. Overall it drives like an Audi and it’s really nice. We got ours for 0% APR and we negotiated the price of the top spec model with the special blue color down to 47500 plus that interest rate. Would definitely recommend at a good price.
wow! 0% APR that's awesome.
Hope you had a great time in Vancouver, Sofyan!
We have a silver Atlas with black wheels and it is STUNNING. The interior is so wide, and the outside so masculine, VW needs to make a truck version of this same vehicle. I need to buy a full size pickup soon, and I'd rather have a truck version of this than anything else on the market.
Nice video 👍!! This Volkswagen Atlas is on good price and condition too. I remember when i got mine out of my investment funds. I felt really achieving because it paid out real good and even currently
What investment are you talking about please? Can you share your idea?
I got it for my wife on her birthday and she loved it. Volkswagen is really a strong car
Big success can be achieved through investment. I am a perfect example.
@@phillipsmatus1014 By investment, am talking about FOREX INVESTMENTS, it's very lucrative and pay off quickly.
I have heard so much about Forex and Bitcoin investments,Can you give me a guide? Am really interested.
The mew Toureg is far more gorgeous inside & out than this cut-iff Atlas Hopefully VW brings the Toureg back to US
I agree with u. The Touareg was nice, but not a chance that happens. It wasn't well received in North America. Our market won't pay 60k for a VW. That's why this Atlas exists. They did the same thing with the Passat.
@@garynembhard7433 If anyone has ever driven or been in the new Touareg, it's nicer than an Audi Q8, no joke! In Europe and Russia, the price tag goes up to $105,000-$110,000 for the higher trims.
@@DMCarReviews the only European made VWs we see in North America these days are the Golf R and the Arteon. I haven't seen not one commercial ad for an Arteon, which leads me to question it's marketing, or if they're selling! VW occupies a weird space in North America. The moment they're priced over 40k USD, we put it against the Audi, which will always be more expensive.
@@garynembhard7433 Not really. What about the Tiguan, which is in both USA and Germany? The new Jetta, Tiguan, Teramont (Atlas), are found in most Eastern European countries, Canada, Mexico, and more. Each country has a different set of popular models. The only car which America lacks is the Touareg. In Europe it can cost over $100,000 well equipped. They offer the Audi Q8 as an alternative. I would still likely take the Touareg, but it's not a big deal. The Passat in Europe is more fancy and powerful on top trims, along with a very high price tag, which would put it up against the A4/A5 here. We still get one of the more powerful versions, unlike Europe, where most Passats are small diesels, or 1.4T, 1.8T gasoline engines. Only reason we don't get all these models are because of stupid brand snobs! It is the only reason why Lexus and Infiniti exist, because in Japan, there is only Toyota and Nissan, and people don't have a badge obsession, unlike other countries.
@@garynembhard7433 pretty much this... because Americans associates everything with BRAND image. The Touareg and the actual Passat are built on much more expensive platform. the NMS Passat are still on the basic old platform dates back to 2005.
If they want to replace the Touareg with this, then they need to up the power! Now, the actual new 2020 Touareg looks gorgeous! I wish it were still here in the US.
Jeff S Yeah, I bought the last generation Touareg, but the new one is so gorgeous and high tech I'd have to consider trading. As is none of the new VW stuff is of the same grade.
Loved the intro and the editing in this video today !!!
Absolutely dieing over Alex's cameo! 😆😆
Nick S me too! He just cracked me up! Love it!
so hilarious 🤣
Keep on Turning of Great Videos Redline Reviews!!!! You are one on my Favorite Car Review Chanel!!!!
I don't understand why Every Car Reviewer Complains about the so called "Fake Exhaust Pipes (Tips)". They place on the vehicles to Enhances the Look of the Vehicles. Which is a Good Thing!!!!!
The problem is they send reviewers the top end $50,000 vehicle. Most people buy something towards the lower end closer to 35,000. It's barely the same vehicle.
Dude I love Alex when he does his guest surprises lol 😂
Great review Redline crew. Alex is hilarious. Always great to see you guys working together. I also never knew Vancouver was so beautiful.
Where I’m from in Knoxville,TN,these are all over the place. Well the three row I mean. Beautiful vehicles.👌🏽
Also the steering wheel hasn't been used for the past 15 years. In fact in the past 15 years they've gone through like 4-5 different steering wheel examples, depending on the model.
Correct
The last steering wheel design came out on the mk7 golf in 2012
The Alex on Autos cameo at 5:14! HILARIOUS! He also is rather skilled at camera cleaning at 5:29. WHO KNEW! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
For the record, the VW Touareg was not discontinued. It is still in production however it is no longer sold in the US. If you look at the design that is for sale in Europe, China, etc., the new interior for the AUDI Q7, Q8 and Cross Sport was inspired by the Touareg.
13:55. 5 inches shorter and 150 pounds lighter. Exactly what I am looking for in a woman.
HA!
That's too funny
Lmao
I think Rosie O'Donnell is your perfect match!!
Lol
Kudos to VW for going with port injection. That price point is insane however.

So happy to see you review this crossover. Great job thanks as always.
Yes finally I’ve been waiting for a review on this vehicle...👍👍👍
I love that Alex was there. Great cameo.
They have the worst suspension I'm an owner of a 2019 Atlas premium I got 10k miles and the suspension feels worn out already making noise and feeling like my shocks are out the bad thing is I live in a city I couldn't imagine if my roads were bad this thing would be done by now out of all the vehicles ive owned this has never happened I usually trade them in at 30k miles and they still feel great except for this one first time buying and last time prolly
Haha love the fact that Alex is in the video again!
That AoA cameo was too perfect.
Hey, Sofyan I am very pleasure to see you in Vancouver BC. I’ve been watching all your videos. I love you channel please keep up your great work. Thanks
In Europe there's a new model Tuareg and is way more premium than the Atlas, it's more expensive but it's Audi level quality especially the interior, this looks a bit cheap in comparison.
We seem to get crappier versions of their cars in the US. There's cars that VW and the other major German brands produce that we can only dream about. At least Audi was nice enough to throw us a bone with the RS6.
@@PhillyFan20 you are not getting crap cars in us. You are getting your money worth. Yes the European touareg is better but it's more expensive as well. If the Americans were presented with the price tag of the European model they would complain and say how it's outrageous to pay that much for a volkswagen.
@@alecempire8982 Agreed we need to keep price reasonable and quality high. will we be more expensive yes. but we also have a name to uphold and Volkswagen will never sacrifice quality to gain the majority of consumers. because those customers usually come threw our doors eventually because they are sick of the brand they came from.
@@alecempire8982 That's VW's fault for America's perception. And its by design.
Getting a base or mid level trim on the V6 will be just fine. 37K and they'll still give a significant number of incentives and discounts. That said the incentive in buying a VW was completely shot for me when they stopped the 6 years/72K miles warranty.
Really enjoyed the conversation/driving segment with AlexonAuto. Overall, great review.
Good review as always and good to see you and Alex together. I would actually consider this but not fully loaded. Im sure there's some options on this I could live without. I would still want the V6
The “old” steering wheel came out on the golf and the Jetta refresh back in 2015. And as far as the window switches feeling cheap, they don’t feel cheap compared to some of the new Hyundai’s and Kias I’ve been in.
If you’re ever in the market for a used car, get a V-dub with the 1.8T. They call it the he mini 2.0 for a reason. I’ve had two and they are fun to drive, with some giddy-up!
Quick note, just because the Touareg is not available in the US, doesn't mean it completely stopped existing.... This is not even close to a Touareg replacement either. I am however impressed that you managed to get through the video without comparing the Atlas to a Tesla.
This would look very nice in a sport trim with smoked out gunmetal Wheels gunmetal trim to replace all the chrome trim and smoked out headlights and taillights as well as a dark red leather interior.
I’ve always loved the VW group design language. VW makes some beautiful cars.
$51,000 for this? Shiiiiit! No thanks.
You can get them in the low $40s this one is loaded out. And consider a Porsche Macan with a 4 cylinder starts at $50k and a Stelvio with a 4 cylinder is $45k starting out
@@richardbutton1179 that sounds better. I like the design.
In Germany, this car would like 75k at least, 51k is nothing.
Thomas Rupp Yup, but that difference is thanks to our 19% VAT
Andy 19% Vat? Somebody is getting rich off the ppl.
Still have my 2004 Touareg and bought a new 2019 Tiguan last year...getting Double the gas mileage in the Tiggy!! Touareg has the biggest comfy-est seats ever though!
Very good looking suv but wish they would offer a performance version with more power.
They still make the the tourareg just not in the USA it has the best interior of all the vw
I've owned two Touaregs. Yes, sadly, discontinued here in the US. The US market has a hard time getting their arms around a high-quality car with a VW badge priced at $55K. They flock to a $60K Audi Q7 instead. That's what killed the Touareg.
@@zoso73 well really it was the atlas that killed the touareg after the atlas came out sells when down for the touareg cause they were wanting the 3 row suv
@@publicneucence VW decided to discontinue selling the Touareg in the U.S. with the 2016 model year, so the last U.S. Touareg sales were in 2017. The first Atlases in the U.S. were model year 2018 selling in Fall 2017. So, it wasn't the Atlas that killed the Touareg in the U.S. It was the Touareg being a luxury-level VW that the excessively badge-conscious U.S. market wasn't willing to pay almost-Audi money ($45Kish to $55Kish) on that meant sluggish Touareg sales. VW needed a longer, wider, more "American" large-size SUV to attract American buyers that will are much more willing to drop non-Audit money ($35K to $45K) for what they perceive as a non-premium VW badge.
Being discount Audi wasnt moving any volume. Wasnt that part of the reason they moved the Passat to a cheaper platform way back when? To chase volume by making the cars cheaper?
Great video! Informative and entertaining. Looking forward to watching more of your recent videos. Excellent job
Looks really nice, you could also see it as a "budget" Audi Q8. But its a pity that the new Touareg isn't available in the US anymore...even it's a fantastic luxury SUV
Damn not a fan of VW but this looks pretty great! Love it!
It just looks good! shallow reason to buy a car
$50,000 for this thing V6 and NOT ONCE do they compare it to Lexus RX V6 @ $45,000
Ok let the simpletons buy it & $50k & I'll wait until it depreciates to $10,000 that is if it still has any quality left in it like Lexus
It was great to see Alex in the vid. Two of the best reviewers in the biz on this one!
Touareg was not discontinued ... it just was removed from US market!!!
I love this car.. im thinking of trading in my 2019 BMW X4 for this car
Dude I traded my jaguar f type for the cross sport, I absolutely love it, best vehicle I've ever owned
@@rod253 anything you dislike about it ?
@@cvhashim the fake exhaust outlet, but I got over it.
Lol 13:27 reminded me of Airplane when they said 'ladies and gentlemen I'm sorry but we're out of coffee' :P
I like the rear bumper reflector that goes thru the whole bumper.
I understand they want to piggyback on the success of the Atlas, but my question is how many Atlas owners thought that they wished their SUV were shorter in length and lower? Didn't they already try this with the CC which was a "sleeker" Passat? Who knows it's an SUV so I may be completely wrong and it may sell great. Seems like they want something to compete with Ford Edge?
some of use want a mid size SUV but dont want or need the 3rd row.
The old steering wheel. Hell, those climate control knobs and CD player/SD Cards in the glove box are about a decade old. But it looks like the new GTI will have all new climate control buttons.
Love my 2017 Touareg!
S Such I have the same generation bought new in 2015. Love it.
You guys are the best! Always great reviews! I am torn between the Telluride and the Cross Sport. I drove both. I liked the Telluride better. However, I have a Passat 1.8T with the APR upgrade which transformed the car from "OK" to "Wow". I am considering doing the same thing (APR upgrade) to the Cross Sport 2.0T (if I get it). I would be happy with the base model Cross Sport.
Sorry to say, all Korean cars look ugly. And the logo? Pew.
$50,000 for this thing and NOT ONCE do they compare it to Lexus RX @ $45,000
Ok I'll wait until it depreciates to $10,000 that is if it still has any quality left in it like Lexus
I like it and I like it even more that it comes with the VR6. V6! PORT INJECTION! NO TURBO! Perfect match for me.
You are absolutely right about the new VW key. Compared to my switchblade key, it feels way too light.
Thanks for this video, it was great to see this car in so much detail, I'm hoping to jump into a used 2020 over in Kingston Ontario in the next couple days!
You can't really call it a successor to the Toureg, the Toureg still exists in most markets as VW's flagship SUV.
This thing is perfect for an Uber or Lift driver. I would not trade my Touareg for this. Both Sport Cross engines are equally weak, I don't get it.
Get this one in black, put a set of black 22s with a 295 tire on it, limo tint the windows and voila, you have a killer SUV coup for 36 K.
12:22: This engine does have direct injection. It's a further improved version (that first came available on the Audi Q7 in 2005) from the original VR6 that launched in the 90s. The FSI branding in the technical details VW provides is another clue. They only use that badge for cars that posses the actual technology. So it's not for marketing purposes.
I can think of 3 SUVs that are better and 15k cheaper and way more reliable:
Pallasade
Telluride
Highlander
How can you speak of reliability when (most) of these cars are in the first year of production. let's let time decide. knowing Vw these will age like fine wine.
@@keaneder true. People jump into reliability cause of the name. Hyundai and Kia aren't the most reliable honestly
Atlas’s look out scores any of the other names you mentioned. It’s so American clean look and masculine. All the other ones are just either ugly, soccer mom looking or old. atlas is the only 3 row suv that feels sporty but family friendly at the same time. And it has German engine Japanese transmission. The RLine makes it look like luxury car. Going to get one for myself. Sweet!
Genesis/Hyundai, and Kia has set the bar way too high. All these new SUVs are very underwhelming. Look at it once and it won't be even in my mind anymore
but please be aware that again our engine has been used for many years, our transmission has been tested and tried and the features and components are shared across our MQB platform meaning that the tec in these vehicles can be trusted. it is the first year of the cross-sport, but not the features. whereas many of these new 7-8 seater SUVS and brand new in every way. always keep that in mind when looking at long term finance.
Keane Derkinderen put 220 HP 2.0T in 2021 tiguans, most of the people will come back
Koreans to me still seem plasticky and do not hold up well with timw due to cheaper materials used , from shocks thru switches all the way to engine parts .... Kia and Hyundai improved a lot but are still like Samsung and LG electronics and appliances - they do start breaking quick and parts quality is on a cheap side also seemed designed every 1 to 2 years in bit of a hurry for another redesign with out much needed attention for R&D .
I would not buy Kia Hyundai or VW but would lease VW.
@@poctukkk put 2.0T from atlas to Tiguam? I want Tiguan. Underpowered Tiguan
2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is two thumbs up ! Likely exterior would look better if the mid height body line was phased out. A cleaner look to this vehicle. Cheers ! Slainte' !
love the AlexOnAutos cameo :)
Hi There! Please make a review for 2021 Atlas Sel premium with Rline package.
What are the difference now with the 2021 Rline package. This is gonna be interesting topics.
Coz The 2019 Atlas SEL premium with Rline package, got deleted features.
Like the power folding mirror, Area view / 360 camera and Park assist, all of these are gone.
This model trim is too expensive. I'll take the Telluride.
Kia can't touch German engineering.
@@DMCarReviews This is nothing near German engineering. It's a too big, slow, two row SUV that doesn't have a target market. This will sell just like the Arteon, very slow.
@@Jimmyjam33 Best bullshit I read today. What's not German? Uses GTI engine, no? Who said it's slow?😂 Stage 1 will put the 2.0T at ~317hp, and stock V6 is 276hp. Still faster than similar competitors, and way more sexy.
@@DMCarReviews I currently have that 3.6L in my 2016 Touareg and trust it's not blowing anyone off the line. The Touareg is German over engineering without speed and the SportCross is an attempt at a American SUV while decent but not worth 50k for the top end.
@@Jimmyjam33 It's a low 7s 0-60 car. That's plenty of power to leave the majority of daily cars far back. You either don't know how to drive, or your car has some issues.
The intro, that is an odd place, between the trees, for a shot. LOL!!!
Where can I get this musical score for my morning showers.
WHICH ARE EPIC!
Alex is a celeb now.
I think the exterior looks great for what it is. A mid size suv. But the interior needs more icing on that cake. Taste a bit dull.
Terry Smith VW are experts at boring, but quality interiors
@@dp4auburn no, that honor goes to Toyota/Lexus.
Damilola Akanni nah Lexus has some pretty interesting interior design
Contemplating an SUV, or truck. I like the gladiator but I hear keeps break down a lot of they’re not a grand Cherokee, so maybe a telluride or F150. This suv looks nice too
$51k?! But the Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade offer more for less. Hyundai/Kia are really swaying me.
Those beasts are much larger.
HOLY CRAP that EPA is 16/22 HWY? That’s the lowest I’ve seen for a new V6 with less then 300 Bhp
VR6 is old as dirt..
Beautiful car. This is where Volkswagen needs to stay. Just waiting for them to redesign the Jetta and Passat.
So its another $50k+ SUV that is not competing with luxury brands...mmmkay.
Hey brother always good to hear your reviews You're amazing

Because that thing looks unbelievable I just don't know how it does off-road

Nice to see Alex !
Tuareg is not discontinued! It is selling in the rest of the world! Ind it is not even comparable to Atlas!
I'm sorry but these chintzy Chinese market SUVs have NOTHING on the new Touareg, other than being gigantic.
These Cross Sports are actually created in the USA. quality is top notch, correct it does not compare to a Toureg but neither does price tag.
Keane Derkinderen it’s a rebadged Teramont X sold in China, look it up.
So the atlas 3 row has full LED front lights but this doesn’t but offers full LED in the rear but the other Atlas doesn’t
Ok
Also the rear reminds me of a venza
@5:14: was that a "meaow, bitches!" moment? 😂🤣😅
That was hysterical!
I still think it's a "meh" design, especially the front... so pedestrian. The rear 3/4 view with the sloping roofline looks sleej though. Interior: yawn.
Good colab video again. You guys are funny.
Would be pretty cool if they would quit it with the turbo 4’s
Touareg still around just not in the USA.
Still an awesome car.
