- In this episode, I ride my motorbike to a local shop to get Hawawshi, which is a traditional Egyptian street food dish. As I am leaving the shop I meet a bunch of guys on the street, one of whom is a very talented singer. Follow along with me to find out what this delicious food is and hear some beautiful local music and talent of Egypt on the streets of Cairo.

That's maybe the best channel about Egypt. I really admire your courage by walking alone without speaking arabic to show us the real face of the egyptian streets. Wish you a great 2k23 from Brasil.
Thank you Ibrahim! I have a lot of fun doing it, and people are so friendly😁
Wallahi poor people but wallahi they are happy more than the rest of the world trust me that’s why I love Egypt ❤️🇪🇬🥰 I'm in UK but I hope this year to visit beautiful Egypt inshallah 🤲
Thank you
Despite being surrounded by a group of at least ten to 13 men, the lady remains completely safe, which challenges the notion that Egypt is unsafe. Oh my goodness! 😱
Thank you
Hey Gisselle, Another great video, never tried hawawshi before, in fact I didn't know it existed, but guess what, yes, I will try it now because it really looks delicious. The guy singing has a beautiful singing voice and deserves recognition, hope someone see's this video and give's him a break because he really is as good as any other professional singer out there, I may take a trip there just to listen to him sing and learn more about him, yes, he's that good.
Wow, so happy you enjoyed this video, thank you! I am pretty happy with the way it turned out and yes, the man singing is the best part of this entire video, and I'm so lucky I was able to meet him randomly! Really happy that he was willing to sing for the camera too. He is definitely very talented and 100% deserves a lot of recognition. I wish I had connections and could hook him up with a gig! Because he could easily get one with that kind of voice.
No 1 content in cairo
Hell yeah man, that guy singing was amazing! Loved it 😍 I was very honored and we are lucky for him to sing like that for us, now we all get to hear his beautiful voice!
الواد صوته روعه احسن من سمعته ليفل بجد جميل انت اكتشفتى موهب والله هههههههههه
You've gotta love this American, she's quite special, very respectful of the local environment.
the food is delicious and the guy's voice is amazing🥰 thnx Gisselle
Yes this guys voice was amazing. Raw talent
اللى بيغنى صوته جميل بجد
So good
I like your videos! Your video feels like i’m traveling with you ❤
Haha, that's awesome. Thanks so much man!
i found hawawshi in Alexandria better then in Cairo, it seem to be more common in Alexandria, people are bringing the integridients they want to have in it, with them and let it be prepared at the "shop".
Yes, but Hawawshi Eskendrea is not as traditional as the one shown in the video. Even having the cheese in it makes it less traditional or typical, and I wanted to show it as it normally is eaten all over Egypt. But I had the cheese added anyway because I think it makes it a bit less dry
Correct
Amen to that and not just cause I’m biased towards my home town. It really is better cause in Alexandria the ground beef is cooked with the raw dough vs in Cairo where it’s put in already cooked bread.
Really awesome video that captures a unique side of the Egyptian population! You’ve been wading waist deep in the culture and I’m glad you’re enjoying it. So have you learned all the hand gestures yet? 😂 the palm on the chest and on the head and pointing at their eyes. All those have really deep meanings if you know..
I have learned some of the gestures, but not all of them, there are so many! For sure I know the palm over your heart, and the eyes (ayooni). Not sure I am familiar with the palm on the head though. I am still learning 😅
Love your channel
My husband and I are arriving in Cairo sept 29! Can’t wait

Unfortunately, I won't be able to meet because I am in Bali right now! I am traveling here for a while before I return to Cairo. But Egypt is incredible and you are going to have the best time ❤

@@Anam-cn3ks Ahaha, that's badass, I love that those are the vibes you get! I aim to authentically show what I am experiencing, no fluff or bs, so I really appreciate your comment! Hope I can continue to make decent videos and always looking to learn more and improve, so let's hope it continues that way! Cheers! 😁❤
Great video. I want to call your attention that Hawawshi traditionally (minced beef+ minced onions+special spices. mixture is put inside a Balady bread) but doesn't have cheese in its recipe. it's a newly made addition. The thing I liked most in this video is the voice of that man. He has a sweet voice. and sings professionally and sweetly.
Yeah I know, but I like the cheese in it because it makes it less dry
God bless you I too love Egypt and have been going to Cairo since 1976
Must try these places from myself

Hi Gisselle! Thank you for your another amazing video! Lately i've watched almost all of them and they are super nice. Me and my bf we are coming in Cairo soon and your videos are helpful. Maybe you can give us advice how to celebrate Xmas or New Year in Cairo? If there are any events? Thanks in advance :)
Hey Anna, thanks for watching, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the videos and especially that you are finding them helpful! You know, I am not actually too sure what to do for NYE or Xmas here in Cairo. Last year I didn't do anything 😅I know some people like to go to Cairo Tower for NYE, but it is EXTREMELY crowded then, packed with people even outside the tower. Other people may go to Tahrir Square, but not a crazy party happening there either, just people driving their cars around honking and some teenagers lighting off firecrackers/fireworks. Otherwise there are likely many organized events and parties that you may find online, though I have to admit I haven't even begun searching those articles yet. I still don't have plans for NYE either 😅 I should probably start looking around. Anyways, here's one article talking about some places to celebrate NYE, I haven't read it yet but maybe you'll find something interesting in it: allevents.in/cairo/new-year
@@Gventures Thanks Gisselle!! Im really exciting to visit Egypt 😍😍 And thanks one more time for your videos
The people in Egypt are so generous. You’ve sometimes have had to argue with them to take your money.
Very true!
The signer is good . He will be famous
Inshallah. He is fantastic!!!

Elgaw saaa means it is cold.
Yes, I know that now. This was quite a long time ago, before I knew those words in Arabic. Now I do, thanks 😊👍
@@Gventures You welcome.
Looks so good. Btw I sent you a message on ig but don’t think you read it yet. Wondering if you have seen Frankincense for sale there? I’d like to buy some when I visit but I’d like to know which shop to go to find it and what price I should haggle down to in your opinion
Oh sorry, no I haven't seen your message. I get a lot of messages on IG so it might be lost in there. But you can find frankincense at almost any oil shop. To be honest, I don't usually buy oils, so I'm not sure what the going rate is for it. But on the rare occasion I do buy oils, I usually go to this one place in Khan el-Khalili bazaar. The location I am about to send you is where the little shop/stand is, although it is labeled as something else on google maps. But you'll see a small oil stand on the corner, and right on the other side of it is a slightly larger little shop (where this location is). maps.app.goo.gl/oqx1wASnfBqJidQt7
My suggestion is to barter and pay what you think is appropriate. Alternatively, you could stop by several oil shops and ask about the price, bartering at each one, and then take the best offer. Most Egyptians do this when buying products. Best of luck! 😁
❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed the video! Did you understand anything from his singing?😀
Haha, no way. I understood a word or two here or there, but I really don't understand much Arabic at all, and trying to understand someone singing in any language is always harder than just listening to someone speak.
@@Gventures 😁 Yeah that's true about singing
I like your videos I don't understand English. what is the name of that district? I have been to Egypt three times I love it you are a very kind girl with the Egyptians
The neighborhood of 'Abdeen'. Close to Abdeen Palace Museum. Thank you so much Veronica 😊🙏
