Crazy enough, Noctis's reveal for Tekken 7 was released on the same day Cloud was revealed for Smash Bros 4 (November 12th). They knew what they were doing with this reveal.
Everyone's reasons for bitching are stupid, and can be countered just by naming a couple characters already in the game. "He doesn't fit because swordplay!" Yoshimitsu. Master Raven. "Doesn't fit because magic!" Kazumi. Devil Jin. Master Raven. Eliza. "Doesn't fit because of his look!" Really? He looks like half the people on the roster. It wouldn't surprise me if he was secretly a Mishima. "Doesn't fit because different universe!" Akuma. Geese. "Well....it's just a marketing ploy!" So? I don't think you get the concept of a guest character.
Yoshimitsu and Raven barely use their weapons and still have a ton of unarmed moves and combos in their movelists. In fact, Noctis his weapons way more than they do. Yes, the Kazama/Mishima family has superpowers, but they all still use martial arts. Even the final fight between Kazuya and Heihachi came down to just fisticuffs even though they were powering up and transforming. Akuma and Geese are also still martial artists. Noctis is _not_ a martial artist in any stretch of the word. The fact that he only kicks while exclusively using weapon attacks begs the question of why he isn't in a Soulcalibur game instead

I'm kinda glad they didn't add a FF7 character. I don't need another reminder that FF7Remake is just a fever dream, but I also expected Noctis to eventually show up when there was a mountain of Cup-Noodles near the tourny monitor desk Lol.
@ikon It's a fever dream. It's been reported numerous times that they were/are struggling with development. I believe it was said once that they even had to scrap everything and start over due to said problems. For the longest time, they were confused on how the game would even play! Make it turn-based, or free combat just like XV. And we don't even know which they chose. The remaster has been going through hell since day one, and still is. So it's definitely a fever dream as we haven't a single clue if all these struggles will result in cancellation, or many years of delays just like XV.
After thinking about it: 1. FFXV makes sense because of its upcoming DLC, and it's the most recently released ip from Square. 2. I would rather have Tifa but FFVII is still a long way off :( 3. The next Yakuza will be localized around the time of EVO so I'm thinking that would be a more appropriate time to add Kiryu. 4. Arc is focused on DBFZ so any Sol announcement won't be until we hear about the next GG installment. 5. A character like Lei wouldn't be announced until the King of the Iron Fist tourney in Japan. 6. Harada is kind of a troll which we saw with the Kuma reveal and as long as he's happy, he'll listen to our outrageous requests :) 7. (Most important) Noctis is great for getting new players interested who haven't picked up Tekken 7 yet.
While you're not wrong per se, wouldn't Ignis have made more sense? He fights closer to a Martial Artist, and its actually HIS dlc coming out soon. That's what sort of bugs me the most, it's not the fact they put in an FF character its the fact theres more fitting characters they could have used but just went more with....brand recognition I guess. I can't completely hate on it, but its sort of hard to get hyped for because it seems so corporately driven a decision you know what I mean?
Sol Badguy won't fit with it's realistic artstyle Akuma transitioned so well because there 3d models go more for realistic with some anime. Guilty Gear LIVES in anime artstyle like a realistic Sol sounds like a bad idea not only for aesthetics but gameplay style too. Noctis never was in a fighting game so he can work, Geese's fighting game is sort like Street Fighters which made the Tekken transition well. Guilty Gear in Tekken would just not work no more air dashes, Roman Candles, Green guarding is redundant, most of his special moves have him move full screen, and Guilty Gear is just a way faster pace game so you would slow him down.
Personally getting sick of ff7 so while noctis isn't my first choice I'd rather have him than another overhyped ff7 character I wish ff 6 or 9 got more play but this ain't a perfect world.
I'm fine with it too. At least it's way better than what Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite can bring out. We got guest characters in Injustice 2 and this game. Capcom needs to step it up.

IMO bringing Noctis to Tekken is a good idea (not great or best, just good), it'll attract the casual players and FF fans to buy this game. the gameplay is cool,fun and kind of refreshing. STILL i hope Tekken7 bring back the other characters like Lei or Anna

From Tecmo/DoA I would say Ayane, Raidou, Ryu and Kasumi, in that order of probability. Ayane is the "Mario" of the company. Raidou fits perfectly in Tekken (more if it's Cyber Raidou). Ryu is...Ryu. And Kasumi is pretty much the signature character of DoA. Even so, it's quite hard to see any DoA character to appear in Tekken or viceversa. Tekken and DoA have a no sense competition with each other. I get it when Itagaki was, but at current times is bullshit

Solid Snape - Except DBFZ already has Golden Frieza and SSBGoku and Vegeta. They've acknowledge Super and haven't even revealed the full base character roster yet, let alone the dlc. There is practically no way they won't have at least Beerus, Whis and Hit (minimum), there aren't enough Z characters left to fill the roster, especially when you take into account they smashed the entire Ginyu force into one character, combined Androids 17 & 18 into one as well and didn't make Saibamen pointless stand alone characters either. They've basically only got Dabura, Gero, Gotenks and a Kai left, maybe a second form of Buu (Bulma, Satan, Saiyaman if they push it), and they've already announced an 8 character dlc roster. 3. The next Yakuza will be localized around the time of EVO so I'm thinking that would be a more appropriate time to add Kiryu.
4. Arc is focused on DBFZ so any Sol announcement won't be until we hear about the next GG installment.
5. A character like Lei wouldn't be announced until the King of the Iron Fist tourney in Japan.
6. Harada is kind of a troll which we saw with the Kuma reveal and as long as he's happy, he'll listen to our outrageous requests :)
7. (Most important) Noctis is great for getting new players interested who haven't picked up Tekken 7 yet.
Problem with points 3 and 4, is that Noctis is the last guest character. After Noctis, legacy characters will come to the game.

While you're not wrong per se, wouldn't Ignis have made more sense? He fights closer to a Martial Artist, and its actually HIS dlc coming out soon.
That's what sort of bugs me the most, it's not the fact they put in an FF character its the fact theres more fitting characters they could have used but just went more with....brand recognition I guess. I can't completely hate on it, but its sort of hard to get hyped for because it seems so corporately driven a decision you know what I mean?

Sol Badguy won't fit with it's realistic artstyle Akuma transitioned so well because there 3d models go more for realistic with some anime. Guilty Gear LIVES in anime artstyle like a realistic Sol sounds like a bad idea not only for aesthetics but gameplay style too. Noctis never was in a fighting game so he can work, Geese's fighting game is sort like Street Fighters which made the Tekken transition well. Guilty Gear in Tekken would just not work no more air dashes, Roman Candles, Green guarding is redundant, most of his special moves have him move full screen, and Guilty Gear is just a way faster pace game so you would slow him down.

IMO bringing Noctis to Tekken is a good idea (not great or best, just good), it'll attract the casual players and FF fans to buy this game. the gameplay is cool,fun and kind of refreshing. STILL i hope Tekken7 bring back the other characters like Lei or Anna

From Tecmo/DoA I would say Ayane, Raidou, Ryu and Kasumi, in that order of probability.
Ayane is the "Mario" of the company. Raidou fits perfectly in Tekken (more if it's Cyber Raidou). Ryu is...Ryu. And Kasumi is pretty much the signature character of DoA.
Even so, it's quite hard to see any DoA character to appear in Tekken or viceversa. Tekken and DoA have a no sense competition with each other. I get it when Itagaki was, but at current times is bullshit

Solid Snape - Except DBFZ already has Golden Frieza and SSBGoku and Vegeta. They've acknowledge Super and haven't even revealed the full base character roster yet, let alone the dlc.
There is practically no way they won't have at least Beerus, Whis and Hit (minimum), there aren't enough Z characters left to fill the roster, especially when you take into account they smashed the entire Ginyu force into one character, combined Androids 17 & 18 into one as well and didn't make Saibamen pointless stand alone characters either.
They've basically only got Dabura, Gero, Gotenks and a Kai left, maybe a second form of Buu (Bulma, Satan, Saiyaman if they push it), and they've already announced an 8 character dlc roster.
