TMNT has done cross-overs with DC before. We had other non-DC comic characters as DLC. Bigger surprise was back in the day with Spawn and Link being in Soul Calibur 2. Tekken has NEVER been a game that takes itself seriously. Most of the story endings are comedic, and characters like Gon, Alex, Roger, and Kuma exist in the first place. They've had unexpected and unorthodox characters for yeaaaaaars now.

Publicity. They have the fighting game characters in Akuma and Geese. Noctis and Negan are to attract fans of each genre, especially because of how popular they both are as characters. Besides, NRS have been using movie characters for MKX so I have no issue with it here. It's just a problem with the tekken fan base IMO.

Many people ask "Why?" when it comes to guest characters in Tekken but I personally do like it that they do something nobody else does and maybe not even expects them to do. I never watched TWD but I am looking forward to play that new character. Seeing all the other new and additional things my Tekken heart is beating stronger again :D

The creator actually said he wouldn't mind Kiryu being playable in Tekken but he's still not sure because he's uncomfortable about Kiryu fighting female characters. Though if i'm being honest, as much as I would love Kiryu to be in Tekken, but i think Majima wouls be a better fit.

Lucille would be considered a combo weapon (Baseball bat + barbed wire), so Max referenced Frank as a comparison to try to understand Negan.

Tekken has NEVER been a game that takes itself seriously. Most of the story endings are comedic, and characters like Gon, Alex, Roger, and Kuma exist in the first place. They've had unexpected and unorthodox characters for yeaaaaaars now.
