I have a Frigidaire gas wall oven that took over 30 minutes to preheat, quit maintaining a high temperature and it smelled like there was unburned gas while baking. I checked the oven igniter resistance and it was low so I replaced the igniter with a $25 replacement from eBay. Now the oven works better than it has in years!

Those igniters can burn out pretty fast.
It just depends on how much the bake feature is used.

..my "Sears/Kenmore-range" shares-similarities-- it had "become slow/reluctant" prob 6 mo's-ago-- Id have to "pre-heat ( try-to ), multiple-times", 3, 4, 5 X..?..I looked-under-oven in broiler-area--- "yes--> my ignitor still "glowed"-- but--> apparently, "not "hot-enough", as I found-out--
--watching "some other vids"--- they were all helpful--def helped in "diagnosing"--BUT-- most all of them, quickly "mired-up" with, "rather-confusing/intimidating" & differing-ideas on "the replcmt-wiring"....I understand some "basic-electronics-concepts", still-- most of those other-vids, kinda' convinced-me-- " I needed to have this done by a "Tech-person"..?..
..Id bought the "ignitor-part" maybe 2 mo's-ago-- but "findin a Tech", (reasonably) in WV, as "we emerge from the "pandemic"--was "discouraging"...
..meanwhile-- it would "sometimes work, sometimes-"not"...lol...def discouraged "use", and def had an impact on "meal-planning/menu's" for the household !

There is the clicking once I select bake, then no sound of gas flowing or glowing from the igniter itself (no response)

Hey Scott, quick question, i recently replaced my Igniter and that seemed to fix my issue, but all of a sudden my issue has come back. let me describe:
1) turn oven on 400, cook a frozen pizza to completion, ingitor does a its job and start way quicker than my old one.
2) turn off
3) wife gets home and tries to cook something, turns on for a min, then shuts itself down.
4) retry starting the oven and the ignitor doesnt even glow, oven shuts itslef off again

Might just check the leads coming to the new igniter. Might be a controller that’s wearing out.

Great vid..havent recieved igniter yet but did take apart to make sure wires didnt come apart... and since this igniter wasnt spliced in , i no this is the original part and needs to be replaced thanks for the vid

I am having this issue with mine but i can see the ignitor glowing below the oven. Does it not have to be completely out to still be faulty or not strong enough to light it?

Very often an igniter will glow but is too warm out to let gas flow.
A new igniter will fix it👍

Thanks for the upload! I have a question My oven stopped working and I replaced the temperature sensor. It's working again but it take abt 2mns for the flame to fire up.Before I could gear it light up within seconds. Should I return temperature sensor and just replace ignitor? The other issue I was having is a error 31 when I use stove top and oven at same time. I hear the click when I turn the oven on but it takes way longer to fireup.The model # is Lfgf3052tfa.

Replaced igniter with a new one still doesn't glow... stove top and broiler work great is just the bake igniter that doesn't glow when turned on you can hear the click when oven turns on do you know what could possibly be wrong??

Might be good to recheck your wire connections👍
Try smacking the upper console when the oven is supposed to light.
It might jar the relay and send power to the igniter👍

I have a frigidaire range oven for more than 12 years. but I do not use it every day. I have baked my turkey only twice in so many years because the oven baking part is not working anymore.

It’s very common for an old igniter to glow but not allow the gas to flow in.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel so what's the best way to distinguish if it's the igniter or the valve that lets the gas flow in? Other than using the meter to test the ohms in both to broil and bake function?
How do you know that the igniter is bad if the igniter's heating elements are not roken, melted with the gap on them ?
If they glow but never light the oven, you should replace them 👍
I have an additional black shelf/tray beneath my heat deflector preventing me from accessing the wire connector/splice area of the igniter. This lower black (painted) shelf doesn't appear to come off. I have no access to screws.
Any suggestions?

Since I have an older model I had to access the ignitor and pick my splice location by pulling out the heavy drawer beneath...
Sometimes, the answer is right under your nose (or stove in this case.)

I have the same oven. My oven would cut off after baking for 10 minutes or so. Now the digital display doesnt even light up. I can still cook on the stove top. But the over doesnt even display to even turn on now?
If it does not heat up or get warm on BAKE. Will it still turn on and heat up on BROIL? This is the problem I am having... does that mean it's my igniter???

If it is the control does that mean it is not getting power because when I attached the new igniter, it sparked slightly. A handyman friend said it might be the valve. What are your thoughts?
I had one of these ovens. The igniter died about 4 years after. The replacements only lasted about two years so I tossed it and got a regular oven.
this is a couple days, when I turn my oven on, the electricity key get down and disconnected, but doesn't do the same thing when I just turn on the stove, I didn't know what is the problem.
Sounds like the wire that goes to the oven igniter is touching metal and causing a short circuit. See if you can find where the wire’s insulation has rubbed off.

My oven will not light the same time when I turn the gas knob on and push it in there is no click click click sound and it will not ignite by hand

My igniter works fine. Just doesn’t ever heat. Gas never comes on. Broiler works fine
Time for a new bake igniter.

The igniters with the plug just cost more.
So when I turn on the oven I can see the orange glow through the slots which I believe means the igniter is working, but the oven is still not heating up, what could it be?

Bad igniters will still glow but they won’t allow the gas to come in. A new igniter will make it work😊👍

My Frigidaire oven igniter glows but doesn’t make any gas hissing and so no flame😖This rental was always occupied by Vietnamese who never used it!

It’s super common for a bright glow but no gas.
The new igniter solves it.
The igniters are cheap and easy to replace.
I’m assuming that there is gas lighting the surface burners.

Don't glow and replaced the ignitor
That means the bake relay located on the control board in the upper consul, needs to be replaced because it is not sending power to the safety valve and igniter.

Eight years? aaahahahahaha My 9 year old Frigidaire gallery has burned up three already - number four going in. OEM parts!! $120 each - the $30 jobs won't fit because they changed the houseing mounting tabs. Do not buy a Gallery - you pay more to get hosed better.
I feel like that’s the problem I’m having. The “universal” one I ordered off Amazon for $40 looks a lot different than the one I just took outta my stove.
You can bend the metal housing of the old one and fit in the new ceramic igniter and then bend the metal case in on the new igniter.

This video is worthless. How do you even know if that's the problem? You showed no troubleshooting you just threw a part at it and hoped that fixed the issue.
98% of the time it’s the igniter.
2% it’s a bad relay on the control board.
Start with the obvious and cheapest👍
