Hey guys!! Welcome to a brand-new episode.
So, this video was recorded at the food market of Tizapan on the south part of the city. “El Taquero” which is a typical food market stand where you can have some “cecina” tacos.
Cecina is a special kind of meat typically known for its thin cut and its process of preparation which is based dried on salt, this make Cecina a very well balance meat, super juicy and soft. Cecina can be served in tacos (just as we did) or just as steak with cream, avocado and salsa.
During our time on el Tizapan market we discover that some of the costumers ask for a combination of dishes, ordering “huaraches” which is a oval shape fried corn mass, served with beans cream, and withe cheese, combined with some Cecina meat, so we decided to do the same and the results where simple awesome.
If you happen to visit Mexico, don’t forget to try the food market experience, Mexican markets are full of life, colors, smells and flavors, talking about costs, here is a list of the things we had:
1- Cecina Tacos : $.90 US - $17 MXN
2- Huarache $2.62 US - $50 MXN

I think "cecina" is called beef jerky in U.S.
Not quite, beef jerky is a seasoned and dehydrated meat but the method for producing and preserving cecina(salted and sun dried) is different. Another food you might compare to beef jerky from a different country would be biltong from southern African countries including South Africa itself :-D
