@memabige I'ill do a tutorial on my mum soon..shes 70 in March and looks amazing. No lines (and absolutely NO surgery injectables etc). We must have good genes I admit, although my mum has always been OBSESSED with skincare and looking after her skin which she drummed into me at a very early age. We both always had very oily skin and when I used to complain about it she would say "you will be thankful for it in the long run" - I didn't appreciate what she meant as a teenager though lol! X
@liisilu depends what effect you are going for, dramatic or more wearable/relaxed. I dont think it would be too much because I'm really toning down the red in the berry shade with the bronze/chocolate colour. Blue eyes and red hair are an awesome combination ; ) x
I’ve watched this one at least 500 times, I LOVE this look !! Bring it back !!! The fact that we can be transported back to this time brings me such comfort but more that , the sheer fact that as I have gotten to know makeup techniques more and more over the years, I realize now this is a masterpiece!!!!
Lisa, you completely blow me away with your skills. We are so lucky to have you here on youtube. I am addicted to your videos and have watched all of them over and over. I'm 38 years old and really appreciate your videos on more mature women - and really, all your videos work for me. You have changed the way I do my make-up and think about make-up. Thank you from the USA. Thank you!!!
@celenacassandrarose1 ooh that really depends what you want the foundation to do (coverage, skintype etc). Difficult to advise with so little info. Also its dependant on finding your correct shade within the range too... you may find that the high end ones dont do your colour! Armani have some very impressive foundations if you want something high end and good. Start there and if they dont have your shade you can move onto Chanel, Bobbi Brown, Dior and Estee Lauder etc. Have fun shopping x
I almost fainted when I saw the finished look! You look AMAZING with these colors and your hair in that pony tail. Thank you so much for sharing and including the pictures at the end. I much prefer the softer version on you. I will be giving this a go.
@makeupbydel I'm not the biggest fan of facial self tan...I always prefer to use a tinted moisturiser to temporary gel bronzer (st tropez is good) for face. Also it depends on your skintone...I find some brands give a more yellow based fake tan (L'oreal Sublime for example) which is good for olive skin whilst st Tropez works well for the cooler skin tones. X
@PinkPromises I work with lots of models and actress who have heavy lids and they are no less gorgeous. Its still possible to wear loads of different looks and have fun with make-up. Please dont be down on yourself, you are in good company with some of the most admired and beautiful women in the world : ) X
@berggorilla1957 I often use Mac's Skin Finish Natural Mineral powder in my tutorials as i like how natural it looks. I dont use loose mineral powder foundations very often as some of them go on too heavy (only looks good on TV) plus its messy and gets everywhere. The solid/baked formulations are easier to use and i prefer the look of them on the face. x
thank you so much for addressing the light hair/eyes vs. dark hair/eyes. I have blue/green eyes and used to have bright blonde hair but its now very dark brown/red so its great to be taught by someone like you where to pay attention to different methods. and thanks for reminding us of these colours, they're gorgeous!
@annpchlr it depends how dramatic you wanted the ned result to be. As you can see in the final frames of the film the darker the tones with pale skin and dark hair/eyes the more dramatic the look. For a lighter look keep the tones softer and more berry/chocolate. Not too red plum against your pale skin though (which would be a bit harsh) x
when i started watching your videos i thought they were too long but when i sat to watch from beginning to ending i realized it wasn't boring at all as i thought cause you say so interesting stuff and your voice is so calming and peaceful!!
@Michelleyboo18 make sure the berry shade isnt too red (as this can make eyes look bruised on very pale skin tones sometimes), keep it more bronzy berry and it should look great x
@nejedlydia thanks...I felt a bit scary as I'm not used to wearing my make-up like that lol! Although I do that type of make-up a lot for shoots etc and really love it x
@yoshikitana maybe your blending brushes are big and fluffy enough to actually soften your shadow. They need to full and bushy. Have you tried a Mac 217? Also put less on to start off with and build up gradually...much easier x
@lizberry2 The RMK one is really good but has a slight curve on the angle and, from what you say, i would (if you are in the UK) recommend the Suqquu one for you - from Selfridges (London and Birmingham). Is very short and firm with a flat angle. Perfect for filling in x
I absolutely love this look Lisa. I am going to recreate it tonight in your honour. In my opinion, you are every bit as pretty as the models you make up, if not prettier. Look forward to your next tutorial. Would you consider replicating Kylie's make up the night she switched on the Christmas lights on Oxford Street? It's super festive and a lovely look for all. 💋
@MagicMirrorOnTheWall i dont think it would be great with sensitive eyes as the 'Naughty' side is very thick and clumpy. Best to try it in store and see how you go before you consider buying x
You are simply amazing Lisa. I have literally learned so much from all your videos. I renewed my drivers license on Friday and because of your tips, MY PICTURE LOOKED FABULOUS for the first time! Now I can be proud to hand the police my drivers license!! Thanks Lisa!!! ;)
See, this is why I love your work. You've already done it on another person, showing that you can do it on others... then come on YT and do it on yourself showing you can also do it on yourself. I appreciate that you share HOW you did those amazing magazine looks with us and provide links to the materials and appear as a really down to earth likeable lovely woman :)
You are such an incredible talent.........I love all your tutorials........they are so percise that it really doesn't matter how old one is.........you make it so easy to follow........Thank you for sharing your talent with all of us!! Tammy
Absolutley beautiful, all your looks are so fantastically on trend, your ability to create and push these looks beyond fashion forward is genius. Your approach to using colour pigment and texture are akin to a painter. I am not suprised in the least why you are chosen to create so many cover looks. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am that you share your skills and ideas with us XXX.
I'm always so excited when I see a new video of yours on my subscriptions page. I've learnt so much from you and I will always be grateful, Lisa! You are the best!!!
The nail polish you are wearing looks like a dupe for my all time favourite winter brick red... Chanel Rouge Fatal. Thank you so much for sharing this look! Your creativity & generosity in sharing your knowledge & skills in all your videos is such an inspiration. Donna xoxo
@Iivelaughlovelust I usually start my videos with absolutely no make-up but this one starts with a face full of Diors Hydra Life Lifting tinted moisturiser...that may have helped lol! x
@LolaRose02 be confident, friendly and smile... its the best combination. Plus a lovely fresh make-up wouldnt go a miss either. Good luck! I hope you get the job...you can do it! X
this is definitely one of my favourite looks you've done so far! absolutely stunning, I must say both alternatives look great on you and I'm definitely trying this look, you're right, it's perfect for this dreadfully depressing weather we're having, very rich and sophisticated!
I absolutely love this - the chocolate and berry shades are just gorgeous and I think the heavier look at the end of the video looks fab on you too. I think I may even attempt to replicate this look on myself! x
This video is just perfect! Thank you for demonstrating so carefully each step and even providing us with a softer and more wearable look, while at the same time showing us how the stronger option would look on us. I don't know if the angle of your face on the "stronger" picture made it look more flatter than it would have done if you looked straight ahead in the camera ... But both looks look absolutely stunning on you.
ABSOLUTLEY GORGEOUS!!!!!! UR SO BLESSED WITH UR TALENTS AND AWESOME AT EXPLAINING HOW TO APPLY MAKEUP SO WONDERFULLY!YOUR SO CARING FOR TAKING TIME TO SHOW ALL OF US!GOD BLESS AND UR A NATURAL BEAUTY INSIDE AND OUT!
Hi Lisa, just a quick comment to say how much I enjoy your tutorials! You are so easy to watch and all your tutorials are explained wonderfully!!! Now I just need to sit down some weekend and practice and hopefully I can achieve your results. Your stunning! X
I think I even liked the stronger version better on you, though it's definitely more dramatic. It's such a warm look, I love the idea of fighting the weather with makeup. I have blue eyes and as you said I think this would be a good combo! Thanks for being so inspirational, Lisa xx
I've just tried this look using MAC's Paint Pot in Artifact and Benenfit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Busy Signal and it looks amazing!!! Literally makes brown eyes luminescent! Mines are quite dark brown and it's usually difficult to make them stand out with dark colours but this really works. My favourite look of Lisa's so far!
gorgeous! im really loving this too because it can easily be adapted - all you have to do is look for the right shades of chocolate/berry's! thank you!
This was devine, browns are beautiful. I loved both versions you did. I would definitely wear both shades buts not bring the colour up so high. thank you!
ive been watching your videos for the longest i cant believe i just came across this one how is it possible?! This is beautiful!!! it looks gorgeous on you hazel eyes
Loved the stronger look on you! I would love to see you do some tastefully gothic looks on yourself vs. models. I tend to understand your techniques better when you apply makeup on yourself. x
Stunning!!!...you are the best...For aprox 10 months I've been buying more uk magazines looking for your work in them...I always read Lisa Eldridge and I'll totally buy it. You should have millions of subscribers you deserve to be more popular on youtube...Go Lisa!!!!! ...Lots of love from Mexico =)

6 years on and this look is still as stunning! I don’t think you realise how beautiful you are! Plus every girl loves chocolate 🍫💖💋
@EstherofSuza yes it is really, you're right x
the softer really brings out the hazel/green in your eyes. They make them look really enchanting.
@Yrie27 yes sure, try ELF duo cream shadows....Berry Bliss and and Coffee and Cream both have lovely bronzey and berry shades in them x
@WalkThisLineTogether yes absolutely x

I am loving this dark smokey eye look. It is just so stunning and I think far more wearable than the brights.
I love the stronger version, it looks absolutely gorgeous on you !
Thanks a lot for these ideas Lisa !

@MsZee89 defintitely! Its just a case of time, friends/models and scheduling everyone in. Shouldn't be difficult I know but it is lol! X
@ggrrish YES absolutely...I meant to say that in the video but forgot! x
