I am in no sense of the word very good but enjoy playing whatever I can pick up. Your videos are amazing in that you break the music down into easy chunks to follow. You have a gift for teaching! PLEASE continue to make these videos. They are greatly appreciated.
That is so cool that your wife gave you a bass and you are learning how to play!!! Thank you so much for the kind words and I’m honored to have helped in any way🤘
It really speaks to Geezer's ability that a forty second solo takes almost 20 minutes to explain in depth... Gonna take a long time to learn this one. Thank you very much for the lesson dude!
@@BeholdenToTheRiff Lay's it way to hard sometimes, for someone trying to learn his bass lines XD thankfully there are great teachers like you, ready to bring it down a few notches, allowing us mortals to play like him.
geezer did improvise this tune. it is quite easy for the player but very hard to reproduce it it exactly. it is the same thing with basslines from james jamerson, billy cogbill ea. most of the stuff is a free floating impro. very hard to replicate. „son of a preacher man“ is not even 3 minutes, and it took me hours to figure it out exactly.
I always play some or all of this solo when trying out a new bass because it covers must of the strings and you can hear how the bass sounds. And that 5 to 7 fret area using pentatonics became my favorite spot on bass for me. Great lesson.
When ever i am jamming with my band and we are setting up recording equipment this is one of the riffs i play during my sound check, for the same reason.
Oh, one thing: I recommend playing over the area where the fret board meets the body. I find that gives that vocally “wub wub” tone from the first album.
