No average fish keeper can afford such a light.
Yowza! They are really pricey. $439 to light my 4 foot aquarium.
They are certainly high-end lights.
Jason isn't telling you to go buy one. It's just a review of the item.
That’s not true if you’re good with your money
Ty Capt obvious @@barbarastrohmenger6123
Wow, almost $500 for a light for my 75gal, my wife would murder me in my sleep 😮
Just make sure there isn't a price tag hanging off of it when you bring it in the house. : -)
I don't want any WiFi/Bluetooth connective appliances in my home, so even if this cost $2.99 at Lowes, I'd buy it for nor let it in my home.
My Hygger lights are just as good & cost a fraction of that one!! Rip off!
I like the Hygger too, but they aren’t in the same league. 😀
@@PrimeTimeAquatics yes I get that but many fish keepers aren't in the Blade lights league as it's so expensive. My Hygger lights do a lot of the same things & get the job done with plants & fish ect. Even if I had the money I don't think I'd pay out hundreds of pound/dollars on a light. Great video though Jason. 😊
Wal-mart Led..... 20$...... timer 4$.... the rest is just bells and whistles..... expensive bells and whistles at that.....
When you see these lights in person the difference is quite dramatic, but totally understand that for some people it’s not necessary.
$200 bucks for like, 15 watts of light? Geez, I can buy four or five Hygger lights for a total of 80 watts of light for that money. To each his own.
Ya, this is for someone who wants the features and the color spectrum that aren't available on lights at that price point.
Be carefully of the Hygger adjustable the one that’s has 5 strips of LEDs. I discovered that only the middle stripe was adjustable the other other strips would just change intensity of all the RGBW LEDs. Also bizarrely when changing the middle strip white intensity it would adjust the other 4 strips.
Definitely risk vs rewards in this hobby. Michael’s Fishroom did a harsh review on Hyger but he admits it’s only his experience. They asked him to pull down his review and he declined.
Great seeing you both at Greenwater. So much more chill. As always. Your advice saved the day!! I just ordered this light. Exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you again.
Thank you!
Price on point with quality. If I would have bought the Kessil lights for my planted tank originally instead of buying less expensive options I would have been money ahead.
“We’re too poor to buy cheap things” best thing my Dad ever told me.
Good point!
Learning a lot from your channel. Thank you. Upon watching this... my question has nothing to do with lights (my apologies) but where can I find those giant pieces of tree branches or whatever kind of driftwood it may be? That is sooo beautiful and I want to achieve that look in my aquariums. I have three 125-gallon tanks and a 75. I absolutely love the natural aquarium but have no idea where to get that branched out wood. thank you :)
We have fish stores by us that sell it. Thanks for being here!
I’m saving for one of the AI Prime lights with the gooseneck mount for the new tank I’m working on now.
I'll be reviewing that one too! Even more features!
@PrimeTimeAquatics that's the one I'm looking forward to. I'm in the market but waiting to catch your review b4 making the move
I was looking into a few for my three big tanks, they are very nice lights and would make the tank look a lot better, but I cannot afford to pay close to $1,000 to light up three tanks. I’m gonna say that 90% of people in the hobby can’t justify paying that much for a light.
Price is definitely a consideration. Take a look at the AI Primes too.
I’m srry but I love ur budget light
I’m never gonna spend that much on a light
And I don’t think u would of if u had pay out of pocket
Very much a sponsored video
I feel this video not much like u
For the gallery I would. It’s a very different purpose and look. Would I for the tanks in the fish room? That might be a little harder to do with so many.
$700 for the 6ft? No thanks. That’s another 125g tank instead.
Ya, just depends on the look you’re going for and the types of plants you have.
who can really afford to spend 600.00 bucks on an aquarium light that freaking crazy,,,
They are certainly not for everyone.
Once you use a high end light it’s really hard to return to cheaper lights. The richness of color in the fish and plants is incredible and not attained with lesser light spectrum lights.
100% agree : -)
Hi Jason. Good review. I was on the fence with the Blade. It was a toss-up between the Blade or Chihiros RGB Pro. I went with the Chihiros for my high tech planted tank.
I was the same and I bought the Blade because I was my local store carries them and I didn’t have to worry about shipping risks. I’m not certain it was a good call. The LED’s are too far apart on the Blade. My Fluval blends the colors seamlessly but presents as more yellow or green.
Does 1 strip cover enough 2 foot wide tank. My tank foot print is 5 ft by 2 ft custom 150 gallon
Thanks
Tom
Absolutely!
@@PrimeTimeAquatics Thanks for the reply I have an older twin strip set ~9 years old still works, but with the programmable features and different light features it may be worth the steep price tag! The video was quite informative and I do subscribe to your channel!
I have these lights. They are great lights. They have some shimmer which I like quite a bit. They’re high-end, high-priced lights. He said that in the video.
Do you have the freshwater version? How long have you had it running?
Yes freshwater for 2 months
Does it shimmer as much as kessil?
I have a prime atm but prefer kessil shimmer but setting a new 4ft and looking at these as an option
@@daves7104 No it does not.
Wished they would be IP67, would make it perfect
Great review ! But i got two 90g, three 125g, and one 500g not a dream i could chase need that money just for maintenance 😂
Would love to justify the cost someday. Very nice.
Thank you for the review. It really helps when we have a visual review. To me it looks like really good lighting.
How long is the warranty?
I believe it is one year.
I just bought a 12" Freshwater Blade for my Pico Macro algae tank. I'm excited to try this out!
Awesome!
I don’t think the AI blade is worth it. I would rather buy three AI Prime 16 Freshwater lights for the 125g as those lights would produce a shimmer effect. I would have to see an AI Blade lighting an aquarium in person, but I prefer to buy Chihiros lights. I like the RGB LED’s of Chihiros that combine into white more than the red, blue and cool white LED’s of the AI Blade.
The primes are amazing too!
Wow, $600 😂😂😂
Im honestly shocked this product became a video on your channel. I think you are one of the most educational youtubers in our hobby.
It's definitely a high end light!
can guppy live without heater? In winter
They need temps at least in the mid-70s.
Buying Kessil at that price point every time. Sorry AI.
Their pendant light is actually less expensive than Kessil with more features!
I bought one around Christmas time and I like it a lot. The color is great, easy to operate and makes my tank look nice and bright. I started with the smallest one on small tank to check it out and then saved up for the bigger one.
It’s tough to use anything else after putting these on my tanks.
If aquaillunination wants to send me one if these lights (or seven lol) I'd use them. Otherwise there is absolutely no way I would ever justify their prices for hobbyists. For the price of the light, I could buy a 125 gallon tank. This really seems like those folks who put edible gold flakes on their ice cream.
I’ve got the smallest version on a little tank. Overall it’s great, BUT due to low clearance in my shelf it’s on top of the lid. So individual LED’s don’t have enough spread. I watch the fish turn from blue to red as they swim and also the red clusters of light on the plants.
In contrast my Fluval does a much better job of creating one uniform color.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@PrimeTimeAquaticsI’m sure if I was able to raise it higher it wouldn’t be noticeable. I’m also running it at extremely low intensity 15 percent. Super powerful for its footprint. I’m considering my options for 4foot tank and it’s still a contender. 👍🏻
Love the look of your gallery 😚👍🏼✨✨
Thank you!
The gallery is looking amazing!
