It’s wonderful to be able to hear in Cho’s own warm and low voice what is flowing through in his mind as it helps understand his current music making much better. Huge thanks to the Berliner Philharmoniker!

Wow, thanks for the upload, lovely!
Valery Gergiev, in an interview, said he was shocked to hear young Cho, 16 years old, play and demanded the International Tchaikovsky Competition organizer bend the rule. They lowered the age requirement from 18 to 16 so that Cho could enter the competition. This was even after they made an announcement for the competition. Cho, who barely turned 17, won third prize in the competition. Cho was 15 when he claimed the top prize at the 2009 Hamamatsu International Piano Competition. The second prize winner, Gasanov Elmar, was 26. Other previous top prize winners include Sergei Babayan, Alessio Bax, Rafal Blechacz-tied. Cho is still the youngest winner in the competition's history.

Dear Berliner Philharmoniker, thank you for producing this video and sharing it with us. I think the subtitle at 2:20 should be corrected -- Seong-Jin Cho meant "the music is an art of timing". Meanwhile, I LOVE the way that Cho narrates his musical trajectory, his appreciation of arts, and his openness to different interpretations (that may change over time and depend on varied contexts of the artist’s playing). The museum’s art objects and the background music (the 2nd movement in Ravel's piano concerto) beautifully embellish Cho’s narration, and together they make this video clip artistically inspiring. Heart-felt congratulations to Cho for being selected as the 2024-2025 artist-in-residence for the Berliner Philharmoniker and I am thrilled to witness your mutually reinforcing musical collaboration with the BP! Warmest greetings from the US!

    안단테는 "조금 느리게"로 알고 있었는데.
