    📜 Video Description 📜
The good news is that very soon you have the chance to find out exactly how your opponents are misplaying every important spot in the game. Grade E of The Carrot Poker School is going live this month on www.carrotcorn... The bad news is that there is a real dark side to poker. The game can be incredibly greuling at times. In today's hanbd review format video we discuss how to hang in there and play well during miserabke runs of variance. Let's conquer the dark side of this game together.

You have played a decent sample now (200k+ hands of rush and cash). What has your win rate been so far? There’s no more reason to hide it under some “low sample” excuse.

I think that the river spot at 24:46 is really interesting and can be arguments for all the options we have (xf, xc, and xjam).
I'd have bluffcatched double blocking the nut straight, even thou vs that size is close to indifferent! But, you should know better than me that low boards are often overbluffed especially in 3bp. Finally, you unblock the entire brodway region that can float the flop with overcards and backdoor equity even vs a mid/big size (common mistake of most regs is to overcall flops vs big sizes in 3bp) and bluff the river with no sdv after turn goes X/X.
I think we also have arguments to check jam that combo. I understand that to regs look often difficult that other regs are able to properly protect their checking range ott and otr, but you can sometime play your T's, 8's and 76's just like that and balance your range with hands like 66's, 65's (as you don't need too many bluffs!).
Def a close spot and all options could be fine!

Does betting one's range help against microstakes players at 0.01/0.02 & 0.02/0.05 if they're not aware of who has the range advantage?

    Nice video!
How is that J8 close though? Has to be a pure VPIP with 10BB extra in there being OTB? Especially in reality if blinds are not jamming and ISOing aggressively which I’d imagine is the case at nl100.
Gl with BR challenge at GG. Will you update on it here? Would be interested to see how it goes. I found that GG is the site I’ve made the lowest net BB/100 on. It’s not a huge sample but still well in to 6 figured number of hands. It’s surprising because my initial approximation was way different given the player pool, rake structure and RB system (yes, I’m aware RB is scammy on GG).

Hi Pete. Just wondering with the AJo SB v BU (3bp). The choice to go b33 on turn could you elaborate at all because all the hands you named that you can fold out, you are ahead of anyway. I understand denying them equity and preventing him from bluffing are incentives however to me your hand makes a decent giveup on the assumptions that IP may try to realise with these hands and then potentially XB river anyway. Plus im not sure if pool is defending the cbet with enough 88-99 region to fold out on turn anyway. The hands you probably do fold out the most are like QX (which sadly you block), but to me that makes the spot Jam/Check from OOPs perspective.
I think I like a b33 at 100bbs a bit more because he is gonna call twice with Qx and then you can triple off at a decent rate (albeit probably not with this hand)

  • @joeolga116
    @joeolga116 Год назад

Question: The hand that starts at 29:10 where you have JTo, wouldn’t this be a mandatory bluff on the river or are you saying that in a splash pot, too many people are calling with bad hands?

21:05 It looks bluffy and might get some calls. You could easily have a flush, two pair or better, so he is repping flushes, most likely with missed flush draw K of hearts. My best guess is he has T8 or KT with K hearts and bluffed you off with blocker to straight and nut flush.

I think QTo at 8min against fish you could raise sized turn, some fish are capable of hero folding Kx but would not fold to raise + bet river.
They also have QJ,JT that could pay once

I thought the same, even thou we can argue that sometimes a NAI raise OTT with a decently low SPR looks stronger than a raise jam (especially on a draw heavy board like that). In the end, I think it mostly depends on the rec profile (more passive, more spewy, maniac, etc...) and both plays have reason to be there.

I must be improving because I watched the 76 hand and thought "surely that's a mandatory bluff".
When you x/r flop on an ace-high board in a 3bet pot, surely its either got to be a set for value or a flush/two straightening cards as a bluff.
Calling the 3bet from the cutoff generally means you have all the mid-suited connectors and middling pocket pairs that villain doesn't as often.
When the turn brings the flush and the suited ace is on the board, you know they have so few flushes.
Then, when the river brings so many straights, I think people at micro/low stakes fold almost everything if you triple.
That said...they probably don't fold a set of aces, so in that particular spot...I'd have lost a buy-in 😂

14:02 so bad check vs rec. bet fold like 10-25% on the flop and same on the blank turn. Check back river abd you can get exactly value from hands line this. Checking and playing quotation games if fish decide to bet is terrible
