Easty is definitely forever suffering, haven't seen a YT short where he isn't in disbelief when 95o calls him and cracks his Aces. It is a guilty pleasure tbh.
So the take away is, fold all your sets 👍 Recently discovered Carrot Corner and having been solely a tourny player for 7 years, I will come back to Pete's courses when its time to add cash to my game.
"fold all your sets" that's what you got from the video?? you sound like a complete nit. In a situation like the one with the pocket potato's, the turn card is absolutely horrendous for you and absolutely beautiful for villain's range. You need to think about your hand more than "fold all sets" and try to be a smart ass
When you are a content producer all your losses are underpinned by affiliate/YT income. It's almost like having a downswing insurance. Something us mere mortals have to suck up.
Agreed. It's not the biggest downswing objectively but I think Easty plays quite low volume and for low volume players it can feel much worse than it is for a grinder.
The wider the positions the more JJ becomes a mandatory 4Bet. TT is okay to 4Bet in many preflop spots but it's also okay to call. I agree that calling leads to more tricky situations than 4-betting but this isn't a reason to always 4bet it. Don't avoid tough spots, embrace them and get better at them - they're an inevitable part of the game and avoiding discomfort doesn''t necessarily equate to maximising EV.
17:00 are we ever allowed to click back with TT here when he big bets like this? because I do click back a lot of times with hands like 99/TT/JJ when the board is low like this but I usually do it against 50% bet sizing or if they bet 1/3 I raise it 3x
It probably amounts to a very similar EV in theory. In practice you could argue it performs better if you think people jam much wider with hands like AK than they call off a jam. I think you have to do both in theory at some frequency.
Yeah you're probably right. I do think that it's easy to underestimate the prevalence of straights when they're forme dby holding common offsuit broadways though. A closer spot than most think but vs a whale - yep I'm always betting too in practice.
fwiw, vs an actual whale whale I don't think the set of tens is close at all? He could easily have like K4o or a naked king, pair+FD or a peanut butter sandwich.
Don't understand how Easty has been playing for years now, and has access to some of the best poker theorists in poker still sounds like a 1/2 fish when talking about the game.
I was blessed i a way, i had my biggest dowswig right at the start, of course i was playign badly too, but i got wrecked early o so bad and nothing after has ever come close !
I played against him a few years ago and 3-bet pre and c/r’d him with TT on something like T72r. He called with AQ and shoved over me on an A on the turn and then laughed and sneered at me as a fish when I stacked him. I sincerely haven’t a clue what was wrong with my play regardless of the result of the hand.
Pete Clarke everything you said in this hand was wrong. He never has QT first hand he was in mp he doesn't have QTo. You don't ever raise the flop vs ep raiser on AK4 board either. No good player does that cause opponent has range advantage. Oh and lets see the river. No shit he has KK. It's not QT buddy. And he should not bet bigger on the river the opponent can't call with worse if he bets to big. His range is capped when he checks back the turn. You're blocking top pair and he checks back the turn. It is a tiny bet on the river to get a call from QK or TT type hand they might even turn into bluff raise. When easty bets big on the river he looks really strong and now this player can't bluff raise as often and only is going to do it for value. The river is a easy fold btw. I expected to see what I saw KK not QT. Who raises QTo in mp? I guess pete clarke does this -ev raise in mp. ☠
Well, pocket TT at 12:45 OTF - it can be 50NL, it can be 100NL, I would still get rid of the "fancy sizing" syndrom. Why is Easty betting 1/4? You wanna stack Kx and you wanna give draws a bad price. Definitely I would be betting bigger OTF. Checking the turn and unless the villain shoves the River, I'm making a crying call for almost any size till the pot size bet. Is that a bad idea?
I remember watching this carrot guy on twitch. I dont advise having him be your coach or any coach for that matter. I used to get banned because i pointed out how he doesnt bluff. He talks a big game and always makes comments like "he should call here" blabla but no why would someone call your river jam when you never shove air? Then he got me mad when he called other nits lol when he's a giant nit. I then got banned for life for his room because i told him to look in his database to show a hand history where he shoves a complete bluff on the river. He couldnt comply. Who wants a coach who just plays abc poker? I highly doubt he can beat todays games.
If you look through this channel, you'll find many examples of me bluffing like a madman - some of them spewy and bad no doubt. Variance can be deceptive. I might go through a Twitch stream doing very little bluffing if the cards fall that way and I don't get into too many spots where I think bluffing is good, but trust me; this has never been one of my problems. My main mental game leak is being too loose and call happy in fact, especially when losing. Regarding your experience on the Twitch channel, we typically don't ban people unless they're being abusive or disrespectful. If you're respectful on Twitch you won't be banned simply for saying that you think I play too tight. If you say 'LOLOLOLOL this guy is a fucking nit fish bro' then you will be banned because no one wants to listen to that while trying to play cards for money. Some streamers tolerate it, I don't. If you're nasty to me while I'm running bad, you are very lilkely to incur the wrath. I have no memory of you asking me to show you a bluff, but go through this channel and you'll find many. Expecting a streamer to stop what they're doing and start proving themselves to you mid-session is a little egotistical. You're not the poker police and for most people, when they don't 'comply' with your demands, it's because they don't want to and don't have to; not because they can't. The idea that I cannot show an example of ever bluffing is quite amusing 😀
Thanks a lot for the review mate! Pleasure working with you as always.
Pleasure as always my guy
The guy is god awful don't ever as for his advice again. I think this is why you have 2bb win rate at 10nl. Its from bad coaches like this.
Easty is definitely forever suffering, haven't seen a YT short where he isn't in disbelief when 95o calls him and cracks his Aces. It is a guilty pleasure tbh.
you're not alone lad
Yep there's something quite satisfying about him losing right?
Always been a fan of Peter Eastgate's hand history reviews.
Nice video and format. I wouldn't call $1k a huge downswing for someone playing 50NL and 100NL though.
I agree but RUclips is RUclips.
So the take away is, fold all your sets 👍 Recently discovered Carrot Corner and having been solely a tourny player for 7 years, I will come back to Pete's courses when its time to add cash to my game.
Great to hear. Don't fold ALL of your sets though. Sometimes they're decent hands.

Can't keep a good man down! Eastyyy22 will rise like a phoenix from the lava pits 😂
NIce video. Love the confidence of easty!!
What's the % next to your pseudo at the table ?
he plays Nl100 and losing 1k is his biggest downswing ever :D HE DOESNT DESERVE TO PLAY THE GAME!
yeah i just checked and i lost 2.5k over a 3 month downswing earlier this year. maybe i should start streaming so i can cry about it

I lost 150k playing 250-300$ avg MTTs (still had 15-20% roi over 30k games)So I wouldnt worry 2much about ur 1k swing :)
I especially like these speed reviews!! ❤
I think the Easty downswing video is the best video and I can't bear to watch it all in one go!
prolly not the correct video to ask this under, but do you have videos on tourney advice as well?
Hey just wondering : what about 4betting JJ CO and TT BTN ?
I feel like when calling, even in position we will never have an easy spot to play
The wider the positions the more JJ becomes a mandatory 4Bet. TT is okay to 4Bet in many preflop spots but it's also okay to call. There will be a Part 2? How cool 😎

14:00 mandatory bet vs whale, no way u should check. Maybe not pot it, but certainly good B75
I would bet big there for sure, which means its definatly a check lol !

Pete could be a VoiceOver for a horror movie

What stakes does he play?
Replayer Background is perfect. lol
I drew it myself...
I was blessed i a way, i had my biggest dowswig right at the start, of course i was playign badly too, but i got wrecked early o so bad and nothing after has ever come close !
Also lucky that it didn'y put you off forever I suppose.
Was up 10k in .25 / .50 over a year and a half and in 2 months I lost 4k, this is nit a down swing
I played against Andrei at 50nl today! Won some against him! he's sticky for sure
Love to see it!
which site are these games in?

1k downsqing mhhh i have to switch to cashgame!?! Very nice vid as always!!!
Poker Gods reward good play especially aggression :)
Surely a $1000 downswing at $50 is only 20 buyins? Almost nothing. Not a serious downswing at all.
What is this 100NL Zoom?
I thought it was his 10nl challenge. and he plays on 888, I believe.
mostly 50NL, some 100NL (and I think a small amount of 25)
that set with 10 10 is 100% AQ
Christ. He runs worse than me. Confidence restored

We can’t all be ballas like you.

Easty. For future reference, you get defensive about your play when others are trying to help you. Please be less overreactive. Thanks.
Yeah he was a total dick.
Ahahahahaha@@CarrotCornerPoker
all the amazing info and this video and I just want to know the results of the AJ on Aj99
down 30k that’s genuinely nothing
