Saulo I know your channel is just getting started, but it is INCREDIBLE. Your videos, thought process, explanations, and playing style are amazing. Keep up the great work my friend!
Thank you Saulo you're the best. I found myself very confused with 1/3 pot size cbets since they wouldn't generate many folds in my opinion vs regs and fish and I would find myself having to triple barrel vs regs to get them to fold but by putting in big bets versus their capped ranges on the flop and turn they seem to respond very poorly by either calling too much or folding too much. I find the big bet strategy much simpler to understand. I also didn't know about this timing tell vs 3bets i noticed it right away in my previous session vs a reg. He 3bet quick most times and then those 2 occasions he tanked 3bet so I 4bet with Q9o and KTo and he folded twice.
Your "play and explain" videos are very informative. I have noticed that you are putting so much attention on timing tells and fish exploits. Would be awesome to make a video around that topic.
I passed to join the meta team, but for personal reasons I chose not to join, even so I'm always following all of you and thank you for the work you've been doing you guys are insane!!!
One problem with having a good red line you lose equity in the pots where you’re not playing for a ton of stacks with your best holding after 3 bets etc. Sometimes have a bad red line earns you more profit
Obviously there is always somewhat of a tradeoff. Having a better redline means getting into more pots with lower equity holdings, but battling more and potentially winning more without showdown, due to position, isolating and other important factors. But when the redline isn’t important, you play nittier, don’t get in as many spots to win ‘free’ pots but when you do play a hand, the pre flop hand equity goes up quite a bit. You win more at showdown but less when hands don’t go to showdown. You can potentially thread the needle between the two and that’s what makes some of the biggest crushers in the game.
Appreciate these vids.... I've played mtts full time for the last 3 years, feeling very beat down from the tourny grind. Studying to switch to cash, your vids have been awesome. Ty Sir
I fixed my redline when I started putting all my energy into defending vs cbets and xr especially bvb, if you’re not careful you can’t overfold an insane amount
another great video, it's cool to see how you pay attention to the timing tell, I don't know if you remember or even used a software called "Timemojo", it appeared there around 2016/2017 where it was used precisely to mark how long the opponent took to react, and usually the longer it takes, the more bluffs it contains in the range, mainly preflop which was the most reliable street they had done this data analysis, too bad (or not) that the software was later banned by all rooms, very nice hand the shove from 44, GL!
Lol 20:40 i feel like you're kinda nervous. Lookin' down like "Shit, I may get jammed on here." Looking down, then scratching your head and having this look in your eyes. Maybe I'm completely wrong. But I know i'd feel like that playing the limits you're at. QQ sometimes just sucks. I was in a similar situation but jammed pre (probably shouldn't have) and of course, I get shown AA. For your hand, as soon as he jammed I said Kings out loud, and it sucks because folding is so gross on that board. It's almost like, for me, I kind of just know and those are the times I wish I had folded. Really like this channel a lot so far! You've given this old 25/50NL player back in the day some cool tips as i start back at 2 and 5NL. Poker is a simple but at the same time very complex game. I didn't necessarily know the extent of it back in 2009-2011.
Hmmm I would have called the 88 at @39:51. Seems like it would be an indifferent hand to call with in theory and in practice I can see many offsuit combos of QJo AJo and potentially AQ that would bluff, and not much value really once he only bets 1/3 OTT. On top of that, bluffcatching would be even better if he is trying to exploit a pool that checks back too weak OTF.
14:44 I feel that the pot sized flop bet is often a missed flop with AK or AQ. These pot sized bets are maybe better on low dry flops because it makes it hard to continue unless you have flopped a set, which only happens 12%. 3-bet pre, then when missing the flop, they bet pot C-bet. If they get 50% folds then it is very profitable, and few people float vs pot sized bets. As you said, you can overfold to these bets, so I think they are profitable. What do you think? Is it this or is it big over pairs and sets that are hoping to get it in?
Saulo you are a Brazilian guy and speak really good English... I wondering if you could choose this language just for content on RUclips or if do you born in Brazil and have been living your whole life somewhere else? Thanks for the video! Really great content!
Saulo has ZERO winnings in years on GG Poker, PokerStars, WPN, Chico, 888. I'd love to see him do a win 25k challenge to prove he can really make money playing online poker.
It's hard to believe that such a supposedly strong regular doesn't beat regular tables where the whole game revolves around a weak player. Therefore, he plays the zoom so that it would be impossible to break through his real results, but a beautiful graph in the program is done in 20 minutes.
I love your content. I have a question about this spot 8:50 I understood you are targeting their air region by betting small. But is it possible to target their Ax in pot turn and big size river ? I feel like with a small bet turn, we just can't never bluf river.
Hi Saulo, Like the content. Can you tell me where the content is hidden of the 28:41 minute? You are talking about some kind of spot and I really want to know where I can find it in your videos. Ty, glgl!
Can you please explain why you 3bet to 5x when out of position? I thought the conventional theory was to go to 4x when out of position, but I have been seeing a lot of players going to 5x recently - would love to hear an elaboration on that.
Hey mate! It's just what solver prefers. People used 4x in the past because no one had run simulations with 5x lol Check gtowizard, preflop ranges are free and they use the optimal sizings
@@saulocostapoker interesting, thank you. My 'poker Bible' is modern poker theory by Michael Acevedo, and he recommends using 4x when out of position. However, especially in the last year or so, I have seen many players online going to 5x.
Thanks bro. I think 3-4 tables of zoom/zone/rush and cash format is good number. For regular tables, something between 6-8 is good. As far session length, I personally prefer many short sessions rather than few long sessions. It's easy for performance to deteriorate heavily over long sessions
@saulocostapoker Nice one, brother. Hopefully can start crushing watching your vids. I used to grind online like 10 years ago, so haven't played online for a while. I'm learning a lot from you atm as the game has changed quite a bit since then. I'm going to start grinding again and was just wondering what limit you would suggest starting at and what site and format (fast tables or regular tables).
Heyy, hope all well! Wanted to ask you - in which video are you talking about the exploit that the guy thanked you about - where fish bet junk IP? Thanks
Thanks for the content. Around you mention and exploit you like to use with K9/KJ9r HUOOP vs recreational but don't finish your thought as you had time bank problem. I saw that you put this hand in the XC-XC-XC line. Is this the exploit? Can you explain this a little, please?
Nl40K is beatable. Every stakes is and always will be crushable. The room for improvment in poker is infinite. Linus and others knows not yet about poker.
Probably, yes. Pokerstars has become very reg infested due to recs migrating to GG poker and regs looking for rakeback challenge. But post rakeback it's certainly beatable
I saw that u use a software for gg hat puts colors to tables on the exterior and where can I find that RNG? I have to mention that I have followed you on RIO too. thanks for content
At 39:41 you say 88 is a straight forward fold vs the river OB when our opponent uses the X-1/3 turn-OB river line on KT72K run out. A solver has it at 0 EV. Do you think the paired rivers are under bluffed?
Yo saulo, bro. I would love to join the meta team, I watch poker nonstop and play it every day. I have dabbled in a few courses, but im still pretty bad. Basically, what should I learn that will give me the best chance of being selected for the coaching?
Hey Saulo at around 8minutes in you stab turn small with 76dd on AT4T into 2 players and say you would bluff the river because they are capped. Im curious because I would never bluff the river in that spot because I think they are capped but are Ax heavy and wont fold. So why do you think its a good river bluff situation? Thanks mate
How do people even get hands like this. I play for 12 hours and hit top pair once and the guy makes a set and I have to fold. I'm starting to think this isn't the game for me
Hey ffallenaangel! It's normal to have losing sessions in poker, it's part of variance. No matter how good you are, if you play 500 hands in a session, you will end up losing in about 50% of your sessions. But if you are a strong player, what you win from winning sessions far compensates what you lose in losing sessions. Hope that clarifies, cheers my friend!
Don’t blindly trust those who only upload winning sessions either.
