It's a random number generator. You can use it when a decision is indifferent to mix between different strategies.

Hello! Thank you for the best poker content on RUclips! I'd like to hear your answer to a question I've been wondering for a long time: what sample size do you think is good for poker statistics in general? By good sample size i mean that sample size with low average deviation, not more than 5% (can be lower), so using that sample size i can say that that if specific stat on player is deviating more than on 5%, i can be sure that this player is deviating in this spot. Maybe 50 samples? 100?
It depends because some spots have higher strategic variance than others. But 300 samples is a good start imo. Below that its dangerous to make assumptions

6:36 Saulo you said "We have to fold" - Why? Don't we get implied odds? Half pot would be almost exactly the pot odds for a fd (18% to hit,25% pot odds), and this is 3/4 pot,not too far off.
No showdown value draws can't be profitably called OOP, most of the time. Would imagine thats the case there in that hand. Only way you can call is with some sort of exploit that increases your EV. In this case it would have to be the IP player putting too much money into the pot when we hit, which is not something we can expect from a rec. So yeah it sucks but gotta fold

I think you can go way bigger at 5:19. I Don’t think the sizing will be highest EV as rec’s might call bigger bets since all the draws miss. He barely has Qx imo since I think he would mainly bet turn to protect his hand. I would personally have gone for pot on the river.

12:45 the size choose is fine, you had marked as wrong but picked the BB option not the CO. I made with 2 sizes and prefer the size up.

Do you still find the ignition games quite good? There seems to be a lot of murmurs over at the 2+2 thread about potential collision and stables ruining these games.
I have moved a lot of my players out of there because results did get substantially worse in recent times (mid 2023 and forward). I don't know whether its due to cheating or not, but the fact is that there is less money to be made there compared to recent years.
Nice video love it. Is 200L R&C still beatable? Hand is it much harder to beat for example the 200L regular tables at the GG site.
Yeah its much harder for sure. Based on my experience I think the top regs of the limit can beat it for sure. Won't be a huge winrate pre-rakeback but what matters is post-rakeback money. The benefit of the fast format is that you play more hands per hour. So even with a lower winrate your hourly can be higher

Hey Saulo! beautifull as allways lol. Do you think that at 13:35, with set 22 in the deep SPR we should bet bigger on the turn to get stacks by the river?. You went 1.5x OTT, maybe 1.8 or even 2x so we could JAM rivers?.
I would ask GTOw or Pio but I am currently having some PC issues =(
It is kinda sad not getting his all stack if he has AJ. And since people under3bet beeing deep BB vs CO, he would have even more AJs. I dont know what he would do with KJ tho... maybe it is a decent spot to nodelock and see what amount of KJ he has to pay river for us to justify going allin. But regardless of that I do belive some 2x or 1.8x will do decent on the turn.

It could be that turn bigger bet is preferred. But even if it isn't, going all in on the river is the proper play. It's the optimal play to do and I don't think any overfolding tendencies would change this dynamic
Hey Saulo, just curious what you think of the recent online cheating scandals. Do you get nervous or ever suspect that opponents are cheating?
13:30 you know he is never raising but at the same time u can’t bet all in. So yeah your sizing was a good compromise. However if u bet small he can raise. KJ has to raise against small. The only problem is certain ultra nitty players will literally check back or just call river no matta what. So it is player dependent. Overall i think betting small woulda been the best possible decision. 💰

My most uncensored and not politically correct opinion is that the community massively overreacts to it. And the main stream media and influencers/creators are the ones to blame. But it's just how media works - negative news sell more than positive news. Negative news generate more clicks, more views, more comments, more engagement. So creators and the media push them 24/7 cuz that makes them money.
At the same time, these things trigger emotional responses in people - fear, anxiety, insecurity. And it's hard to rationalize over those feelings.
But the truth is that cheating has existed in online poker since day 1. Where there is money to be made, there will be people trying to obtain it by all means possible. If some poker sites are failing to address the issue properly, then the most likely outcome is not that the whole industry will collapse, but rather a competitor will take advantage of its peers recklessness to capture a bigger slice of the market, forcing the reckless to adjust if they want to remain competitive.
There is just no way cheating is a serious threat to the online poker industry

9:45 I got a question. Is bluff raising a good strategy even tho people tend to have strong betting ranges on river? Do they overfold even tho they lack bluffs in their betting range?
Yeah, data shows that regulars fold too much to river raises, particularly when they bet small. So attacking those is good, even against recs

I saw you Open Raise QTo from UTG and J9o from CO. Were you playing that loose intentionally?
Those aren't really "that" loose tbh. Pretty much 0EV in theory. You can find GTO Wizard sims opening them sometimes even. If facing tight players preflop or if postflop edge exists, then they become profitable opens very quickly

I study with solvers since mid 2016, so a good 7 and a half years now...(jesus Im getting old wtf). And I study population tendencies since 2017. That's basically what I have been doing all this time - figuring out what solver does and comparing to what humans actually do to find leaks

Wouldnt 910 bet turn where you had J10s and bluffed river....isnt that a good candidate to bluff turn and river? You say you get to the river with with that but why?
It's very rare that a draw hand like that should be played as 100% bet on the turn - that's typically not a thing at equillibrium, specially when there are many other bluffing candidates. So I said that I get to the river with that because I was pretty sure I would check it back sometimes if I had it

If you're playing solid enough, then it doesn't matter how your opponent perceives you. The assumptions he makes about your ranges won't have any impact in the profitability of your strategy.
That being said, yeah I would expect a reg to perceive me as potentially having T9s there

Doesn't seem like a great candidate for bluff raising. Doesn't block much value and blocks some bluffs. I'd prefer having a heart or a jack to bluff. Or both if possible

Thanks mate. Its undeniable that its gotten tougher over the years for sure, but still plenty of people making a (very comfortable) living out of it. It just takes more effort and study than in the past

Every time I see an expensive bluff on the stack, at the streamers or at myself, the opponent has a stake with nats or a stake on super weak stuff every time and we lose. In my opinion, these expensive bluffs are not justified from the point of view of maximizing profits, since opponents do not know how to discipline the hands they should fold.

I'm not gonna farm clicks and views with the cheating topic, too many creators already doing that.
And my personal view is that cheating has always existed in all online platforms. The moneytaker guys is just another one. I stake hundreds of players across all platforms across the globe, and my players have received refunds from many sites over the years.
Despite the cheating that undoubtedly exists in online poker, games remain profitable for professionals. So I don't think there is any reason to panick. Sites should of course strive to improve their security, and that's about it.
