It's so obvious that Mr. Bungle was one of their biggest influences in the beginning. Mr. Bungle even had masks on the promo shots before their debut album. Love them both dearly.
After Corey got home from the hospital from his suicide attempt he saw Mike Patton on the VMAs and decided to continue pursuing music. Also if you go watch the music video for My Ass Is On Fire the resemblance is striking.

I really wish when Slipknot got super popular Paul was given a lot more time in the spotlight. He's an incredibly talented bassist and didn't get as much credit as he deserved.
John Adams I listen to anything and everything I can, but Nu Metal is definitely one of my top genres. My favorites are really any kind of rock, metal, or punk.
Paul Gray, the most underrated and misunderstood musician of all time. Gotta spread the word about his talent and stare with a bleak gaze when someone tries to laugh you off for naming him the best bassist. Don't make excuses, show them these songs, and prove your point. They might get angry and not talk to you anymore, but at least you won.
Some of the coolest metal is the music that grooves the hardest. Deftones, A7x, Pantera, all great bands that rely more on groove for the “heavy” sound than speed/aggression.
I saw someone’s post years ago that said Corey wanted to play this song again live and it never happened. I know it wouldn’t be the same without the OG members but this is one of my favorite songs from this time.

Totally agree, you'd be surprised how many times the band got lost on a song and Paul would just fix it without making him the star , just played his parts and was happy
I almost, ALMOST picked up this album. I found it in the used section of a local music store for $18. Knowing now how rare it is, I should have picked it up.
Man I love Corey, but I really wonder what could’ve been had Anders stayed with the band. His voice is crazy scary, I like it. And I like like that cattle bell when the main riff hits again, great sound! 🔥 Must’ve been Shawn’s idea

When you actually take the time to embrace Slipknot's start in music, you realize, they could have actually became a Funk band. Scary shit, but awesome LOL.
It still astounds me how they switched over from this jazzy style to their style in just a matter of a couple years. You'd think a little would linger, but not at all.
