  • 1/5 - A short series of videos about some of the best hikes in the Chamonix valley. This is the first in the series and takes you from Les Bossons, just to the south west of Chamonix Mont Blanc, and climbs 1,600 meters to La Jonction, an incredible viewpoint between teh Bossons glacier and the Taconnaz glacier. Enjoy the ride.

We spent a total of 6hrs 30 mins doing this one. It was a first hike of the week, so it felt like hard work!

Hello Rick, is it possible to do La Jonction hike the last week of June without ice on the trail?

I would expect the trail to be completely free of snow/ice at the end of June

What point in june last year did you do this walk? Im looking to do it this year.

It was mid June... A great time of year where the Alps feel spring-like but warm and are "off season" so you don't need to worry about crowds or booking ahead.

@@user-fe8em5gw3i should be nice, and the peaks will look great with plenty of snow still

Where did you start the hike? Parking wise :)

Well, we used the excellent free Chamonix buses to get to Les Bossons, but there is actually some parking at the base of the chairlift which isn't too busy outside of the peak season.
