We then head back down to Les Pelerins and Gaillands climbing area. This was the final hike of our trip and it was VERY hot.

A few runs from the excellent Chicksands Bike Park on my Ribble HT725 steel hardtail mountain bike. Some great runs here for all abilities, but this is not the place for a long ride... all the runs are short and take about a minute at the most. Then unless you have anice low gear, you'll be pushing back up again. We were having great fun until my bro twisted his knee on the 4X track when planti...

Riding the excellent Spooky Woods red run at Glentress in the Scottish Borders. Bike is Ribble HT725 steel hardtail, which was ideal for this run. This isn't a tutorial and I'm not an expert rider, but hopefully you can enjoy seeing what this great run has to offer.

Nice weather to try out this downhill run on My Ribble HT725 steel hardtail mountain bike. It's a steep and bumpy run, not ideal for a hardtail, but well worth the hike up to the top to experience it. This video isn't a tutorial, I'm not an expert. This is just to show anyone interested what the run looks like. Innerleithen forms part of the 7 Stanes area of the Scottish Borders, a great place ...

Nice video. What time of year was that?
@@JohnHicksDoP June- a great time of year to go. Fewer tourists, loads of flowers, and still a bit of snow on the tops.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Even the Chamonix town competes with Swiss alpine towns.❤😊
Hello Rick, is it possible to do La Jonction hike the last week of June without ice on the trail?
I would expect the trail to be completely free of snow/ice at the end of June
The path across from the Plan de l'Aiguille to the old cablecar station is used to get to the Refuge des Grands Mulets. There was risk of stonefall affecting the path 44 years ago when I used it. It can only be worse now, plus the state of the 'glaciers' is so much worse.
Albert premier (Albert 1er)
love your commentary! really funny and inspiring!
Ah thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Rick visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place. Moses peak thank you
Really enjoyed your hike videos! Heading to Chamonix around June 1st, could you recommend a place to stay?
Glad you enjoyed the videos! We stayed in a Pierre et Vacances apartment close to the town centre. It was great value and good location near the bus station. But there are so many hotels and apartments to choose from I wouldn't know where to start work recommendations! You could also stay slightly out of town somewhere on the free bus network to get even better value.
So happy tofind a "diffe 're nt" cham video, great memories of hiking in lockdown, aguille du midi lift free! ...cest magnifique
Thanks for showing these tents. I am wondering though, is it possible to pitch the Tarpstar 1 outer first?
Yes, it definitely is possible. You don't need to use the inner at all if you don't need it.
this is awesome! I just did this one yesterday and it was so fun. thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it, it's such an amazing walk
thinking of getting the radrunner 2 as price is 500 quid off right now - id definitely get the eggrider display though, as it lets you use the full power of the motor and no one any the wiser - The 250w is determined by the electronic controller and the control panel. I believe the motor itself is rated as a 500w motor, but it could kick double that out all day
Great video you have inspired me to go here
Just to let you know that when I visited the Alpkit Inverness shop they were selling the T2 inner, which the assistant said wasn't available online for sale. I bought it and used one of my £20 voucher's too. I've yet to try it out.
Is it 7005 alluminium?
I bought the Tarpstar 1 and a footprint too (for a bit of protection against ticks) but to be honest, combined they weigh more than the Tarpstar 2. I've had the T1 on a SwimCamping outing last weekend and it kept me dry through some heavy rain and it held well in the wind too.
Yeah, I didn't think I needed the footprint.
That tent looks really good
Yes, both are good for different reasons/uses. Ideal for bike packing. The tarpstar could be erected with a stick instead of a trekking pole if you want to travel mega-light
looking forward to seeing them in action im keen on the tarp 1, as Im doing the cumbrian way next yr. I think this would be ideal. thoughts all the best
Yes, would definitely recommend it for a multi-day hike. It's a bit compromised compared to a more rigid tent design, but it's so light and easy to put up that it's worth it
Hello good morning, I'm going to Chamonix at the end of next week and I would like to do these trails, is there a possibility of providing me with the Track GPS?? Excellent videos, thank you for sharing.Hello nice videos, is possible

How long did it take for you to get from the train station to the hotel?
I think about 2 or 3 hours. It wasn't too long, and we stopped for coffee on the way!
What point in june last year did you do this walk? Im looking to do it this year.
It was mid June... A great time of year where the Alps feel spring-like but warm and are "off season" so you don't need to worry about crowds or booking ahead.
@@BikeFlips that's great. Thanks for coming back to me. Due to go there end of this month.
@@CraigWalsh-j6n should be nice, and the peaks will look great with plenty of snow still
Hail, Ouch! Smart hiking moves. Always bring your rain and wind gear and getting shelter during storm...thanks for vid. Heading there this summer.

How is it in the rain
No problems in the rain, but the tyres kick up a lot of spray. I've added side panels and mud guards now which make a huge difference. I think I'll make a video of the accessories I have added soon!
Great videos.!..Going to this region in May 2023 , can i ask how many hours the walks are, give or take.?.Thank you in advance.
I think most took about 5-7 hours, but we were never in much of a rush and left plenty of time to enjoy the views. Have a great time in May!
can share the route map?
Sure, take a look here: connect.garmin.com/modern/course/104616182
4 months for delivery ? WoW !
Good decision not to cross that glacier. I came back from gare de glaciers across it a couple of weeks ago and the descent of the lateral moraine was super sketchy. The path drops down below the glacier and then climbs back up on the lateral moraine. Great video though.
Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for the comment, great to hear your experience too.
I found the same one and I love it . I have caprice as well. They working like Swiss watches … ❤
Great to hear, they are lovely bikes
Gorgeous shots folks, beautifully edited and composed video!
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!
this video makes me miss the queen
Forever in our hearts. And garages.
Nice review, good to see it in detail. Weighing up between the Rad Runner 2 and the Plus.
Is that a small frame? Great video thanks for the upload😎
No, I think a medium. Although I'm not especially tall, I don't think it would take anyone much taller than me.
Wow, that had some seat stem sticking out 🤔😉
Where did you start the hike? Parking wise :)
Well, we used the excellent free Chamonix buses to get to Les Bossons, but there is actually some parking at the base of the chairlift which isn't too busy outside of the peak season.
Hi how long did it take you round trip ? Love that last water dip 🤣
We spent a total of 6hrs 30 mins doing this one. It was a first hike of the week, so it felt like hard work!
Col de Balme, always windy! I went there from the croix de Fer coming from Vallorcine 15 days ago. Few clouds in the valley, I had no visibility, windy and raining weather on top. Nice to see the view I was supposed to get ;)
Yeah it's a nice view! At least you didn't get blasted with hail I guess!
Do you have a map of the route you did by any chance? :) And also total distance?
Yes! You can see all of that info here: connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/9029122983

Thanks for posting this vid! We are going on a hike this August with a group of friends. This was very informative and gave me an idea of the terrain. 🙏🏻

Very nice chanel! So, tell us, whats the best chamonix hike? Greatings from Brazil!
I have two more videos to add to this series, but I haven't finished editing them just yet. The best hike we did that week? Maybe the one in this video, despite the bad weather! It has lots of variety. La Jonction is also really good, but Grand Balcon Sud was the best for wildlife.
Amazing series, thanks so much for sharing!
