- Follow the steps below to clean your behind-the-ear (BTE) style hearing aid.
- Gently brush the hearing aid clean
- Remove the earmold from the hook for cleaning
- Brush the earmold clean, then use the wax pick/wire loop to remove any stubborn debris
- Wipe down the hearing aid and earmold gently with a soft cloth
- As needed, you can wash the earmold with warm water and soap. Be sure to allow the earmold and tubing to dry completely before reattaching to the hearing aid. DO NOT use chemical cleaners unless they are specially formulated for earmolds.
Tip: Use a bulb blower to force the water out of the tubing to promote quicker drying.

I wear one in my right ear and I've been meaning to do this. Thank you for the demonstration
Thank you very much I’m still new to wearing hearing aids so I wants to keep them working
Thank you🙂 this video helped me a lot🙏🏼👍🏼
Thanks I've had mine for about 2-3 months and I didn't know how to clean them
I plan on adopting twice from China, and I want to adopt a girl and a boy with a hearing loss. I’m watching this so when they get their hearing aids I’ll already know how to clean them.
Thanks soooo much!! Blessings!!
Thank you for that information
Sir kindly make a video on how can repair or change my bte ear soft mould pipe and which type glue their used.
Please can you advise me why the tubing is slipping out of the mould when it is taken out of the ear. Do i need a thicker tube?
Thanks you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My wife creats an excessive amount of ear wax, and has profound hearing loss. I can't find an airvent, and there's no rubber dome to remove. Replacing the wax trap was the first thing I tried. The ear molds are not removable, you need a special tool, the receiver looks like it is inside the mold itself. I tried to fix it myself, she ended up needing a new ear mold. The audiologist she went to retired, and closed his office. We went to several audiologists, non of them will even attempt to clean or repair them. We can't afford the ~$4,000 to replace them, they're rechargeable. What's going on? HELP!
