Nearly 20 years ago my children gave me a piece that was finished to a matt polish. I have worn it ever since. It has polished up over the years against my skin. I doubt you could achieve this result with a machine. Good things take time it seems. Thankyou, really enjoy your channel
Ngaa mihi maioha Campbell! I love the matt look! I was just asking about the process the other day! I got quite a complicated answer and then I came across your video! Your time and knowledge is valuable and appreciated! So much time and effort can be spent high polishing but so very rewarding is the end result. But I still love the matt look!
Super helpful video! Im actually doing pounamu sanding today and was worried about taking away to much material, im going to try start at 220, was going to start at 80 😅 Thanks for the upload!
Chur brother campbell🤙 i just subbed to ur channel cause my pounamu string snapped and i need to learn how to re string my pounamu, thanks brother❤🎉🎉 ur the man
Ngā mihi nui Campbell! I've also found the quality of the polish varies wildly with different stones. Have you tried the diamond electroplated or resin bonded cloths for sanding?
Hi, yes the stone has to be a good quality to make a good polish, some will not polish no matter how much you rub them. I have got some diamond cloth, I cut it into strips and use it for the inside of curves and rounded shapes.
Thank you so much my Friend!!! Really informative video !!! I wish you were next door to me so I could take classes from you , but Seattle is quite farther then that !!!!
Hey Campbell 👋 I see you're using a micromotor. Could you tell me which one you're using and where you sourced / any recommendations with micro motors. Cheers
I got a marathon one off aliexpress, with the best hand piece, the costs are pretty reasonable. If I was going to invest and my next step would be to get a foredom one probably.

Very informative. Do you recommend Tin
@@darlene7461 Tin oxide is a great polishing powder, a lot of carvers use it.
Is there anyone you could recommend to get the super shiny polishing please? Thank you for your video on binding!! Absolutely brilliant 😊
Not that I know of, polishing super shiny has not been a focus for me. I do know that you need very good stone to get a good polish.

If use jade vibration polishing machine will save you lots time.
I have looked into those before but never had the chance to try one.
