Great install! Really impressed! Two things stood out that make your shop extra special: 1 -You took the time and effort to protect the car with wrap. 2 -Your shop has a closed off area where the material cutting is done. Helps contain the dust and keeps the install bay (and cars) clean.

I love this work as well but for 20gs seems like a little much but in any case i say thats a come back 10 cars per yr atleast 100+ thousand i may switch professions...those machines pay for themselves 20 times every few yrs

Depends on what type of system you are looking for. Not many high-end integration and tuning specialists, but rather more simplistic, large bass and output type of shops. Hopefully these videos can inspire more shops.

Your work is top tier and I love watching your strategies and execution. I was an installer for over 20 years, on and off. But I was the senior installer at a premier shop for 9 consecutive years until the 2008 recession. EVERYBODY in town closed!! We lost Sound Advice, Circuit City, and half a dozen independent shops including mine. I don't know what kind of MDF you're using but I used a material called Trupan Ultralite from Chile and it was lighter and more dense than typical home improvement store stuff. It machined and sanded easily and wasn't prone to splitting. One practice I always had when building boxes was to paint the internal portion of the box with latex paint to prevent material 'breathing'. Even today I dabble because once you've done car audio - stock is never adequate. I am a fan of JL Audio and Focal and to this day I still utilize both in my own vehicles.
It's the small details that add up to quality. Just things like putting plastic protective wrap on the vehicle FIRST, before you ever remove a panel And vacuuming out the sub box after you've drilled holes. Can't tell you how many pounds of sawdust I've found inside sub boxes supposedly made by "pros." Really nice shop, btw. Great design. Having the woodshop physically walled off from everything else keeps the dust and noise "over there" so the installers can work in peace and the sales floor portion stays clean and quiet as well. It all adds up!
Live in middle Tennessee....never knew one of the highest quality custom audio shops was so close ....although I could never even dream to afford the kinda stuff your working on or the components....it is nice to see the little tricks and such you use with the router and other equipment to just make the install a little touch above.....I am currently restoring a 1998 S 10 et.cab ....and doing all the work myself....stated on the inside of truck gutted it.....sanded primed and sealed all metal surfaces ....then done as close to 100 percent coverage of all panels with sound and heat shield....floor pans, back of cab roof,and doors ....As I said I couldn't afford components you used but I did add a single din alpine cd multimedia head unit ....made some custom inserts to do 6.5 mids in door and a 3in tweeter in door panel added 2 more 6.5 in rear of cab along with some 6x9 co axles in custom box replacing the old fold down seats ....added a 8 in memphis mojo 900rms 1600 peak sub with ported enclosure....running 1 4 channel orion class a/b amp for all the mids and his and a skar audio rp1500.1 mono amp for sub ....built a custom floor in extended cab to level the floor and hide all wires.....of course did 1 gauge ofc into a distortion block with digital read out with 2 strands of 4g ofc to amps ....and used ofc wiring throughout the build .....plan on adding more later ....so I am so glad I ran across this before I did any of the finish work like the carpet ....I know my build is no where in the same class as the amazing stuff you do but one can still learn from watching even if your not able to afford the type of gear you install....so thanks
Just did an install on my 21 Mustang GT...same interior as the Shelby. You guys did a great job! That sub enclosure was hot! I loved how you make it look so easy pulling panels and wiring the system. It took me a day to do the doors and A-pillars, which I may open up again to install some foam around the 6.5s. Keep up the great work!
Not changing of hands, but rather adding people to the team. We transitioned from a high-end retail store to RUclips and online sales. That transition is hard for some people but the core is what Sounds Good Stereo stands for has always been the same. Just finding the right team members that fit this mold is a challenge.

The plastic rivets from the tweeter panels you should take a large drill bit and drill off the extra it looks good and it makes it way easier and cleaner.
the reason the FD21 works with the B&O amp & and the sony systems is because the factory radios are all the same, the CAN signals the radio uses to control the amps are exactly the same between the two different branded systems. Since Ford makes the radio, they have their vendors build them to their specs.
I only made it 9 minutes into the video and can tell that while you guys do probably build a killer sound system, it’s overkill, you don’t need ALL of that to have a really good sounding system
You do not need all of this for a good sounding system, that is correct.. But we are not building just good, rather remarkable system that pushes the envelope of stereo reproduction in vehicles. So all of this is needed to make this happen.
Of course you don't NEED it. That isn't the point of this install. Just like the customer didn't NEED the Shelby version of the Mustang. People that can afford to have nice things like to pay for them. But yes, you are correct. This video is NOT intended for someone that is just looking to have a cheap upgrade from their factory sound system.
I've got a 2005 GMC truck with foam surround speakers and they are still running strong. They don't use rubber because they don't need to in order to get them to last a reasonable amount of time.
@@SoundsGoodStereo Maybe that's a ford thing? I've worked on plenty of older cars and trucks and driven them and never had factory drivers fail like that.
I love you guys we’re able to do this without cutting. I’ve been told mustang could be done with no cutting. Happy to see that’s true. I need to get my mustang to you 😂
You will have to seal off the backwave of the subs, which means the rear deck lid, quarter panels, etc. No sound can go into the trunk or you will have acoustical cancellation. It won't hurt anything, you will just have a massive reduction in output.

Nice install. I'm was an MECP Master Certified installer for about 12 years. I got out of it because the economy took a crap. My questions is, why did you go with the perforated wood grill instead of a prefab perforated sheet metal grill. I've tested the wood style, and there is a lot of sound lost with that. The carpet, over the speakers, also deadens a lot of sound. Just curious why you chose that route?
Usually we will use sheet metal, but in large openings like this, the metal would resonate and not much you can do to stop it. We tested our panel/perforations in the first Mustang (two of them in this video) and it did not effect the bass performance that much in a negative way. The end result we did not feel it lacked in the bass department at all, so it was a great compromise/choice. Great question and observation by the way!!
Gotta find it at a car show or come to our facility. No way possible for us to showcase how these perform, even the customers agree when they hear it in person.
Love the work Sage.... although I disagree about what Black hole Stuff does. It doesn't trick it into thinking it's a bigger enclosure. When the heat dissapates from the woofers it cools the air inside the enclosure faster to keep the woofers more efficient. We had a huge discussion about it years ago on the 12vinsider and Bill Basore who started Q Logic back in the day went into deep detail and showed it all charted on a graph. Oh my goodness brother stinkin awesome clean and very professional build! But no sound sample😲, very disappointed with not gettin any sound sample. Maybe with some Binaural mics you could give us some cleannsound samples on builds after your done with them from inside the cab of the vehicle! Thay would be awesome!
Thanks for checking it out!! In the future, we will explore more options for the sound sample. For now, 99.9999% of customers have no way to hear the difference as their gear cannot reproduce the articulation, space and sound stage of these systems. But I understand. I really enjoyed this video and great job on the Cobra. I have some thoughts and questions. You said it was a Sony amp powering the factory system. Was it B/O speakers or Sony speakers masked as B/O? What wasn't the factory system giving the customer that he wanted? Did you guys listen to the system before the install ? It would have been awesome to get your customers reaction of the finished sound system and what he loved so much better about than the factory system. I look forward to seeing the other videos. The speakers are not anything special in either factory system. The factory systems leave alot to be desired and those that have experienced high fidelity sound, factory systems are borderline unusable. We wish we could show the customers reaction, but for privacy reasons, they will not want to be on camera, with there car and showcasing $$$$$ they spend on their "toys". But maybe we can work on filming other people experiencing the system and their face is always something of shock.

First time coming across your channel and I did enjoy the video and the breakdown. I think you guys did a great job. Do you guys ever deal with other DSP brands? I happen to be partial to Helix at this current time and have a Helix Ultra DSP, I love the interface for tuning them and making adjustments. Can't say that I have had the pleasure of dealing with anything from Mosconi but now you have me interested so at the very least I'm going to stop by a dealer and see how they function/sound. Not that I can actually afford it, but it would be nice to see and hear.
Most of the higher end DSPs are good, Mosconi, Helix, Arc Audio, etc. But these are just tools and requires hundreds of hours to really learn how to utilize these to their potential. For us, we have around 10 years of experience tuning Mosconi and every single project we do receives one. So for us, we can push the envelope of what's possible with a Mosconi, but you hand us another DSP and it will take hundreds of hours to get to the level we are now with the Mosconi. 50:40 what does the stuffing even do? I always wondered what it was for and the only time I have encountered it myself was in my Realistic Mach Ones witch was a sealed enclosure (Not Ported). Something I have always wondered and never looked up really. (edit: lol The second I pressed play after pausing the video to type this out my question was somewhat answered my question in the video.)
Hard to explain, but simply put, as you go up in series in the Focal brand, not other brands, it is a substantial performance jump across the board. Everything is better, just cost more $$$.
Great video, just curious .... why you didn't run new 16g wire from amps to the speakers , instead of using the factory wiring and using something like the adapter interface by pac that hooks to the oem radio .
No need to upgrade beyond factory wiring on AC current. This is one of the biggest misconceptions in the car audio world and that's why we posted this article/post from Tony D'Amore from D'Amore Engineering. Until you reach 1000w of music to that speaker, no need to ever change it. To add to what the OP said, since the OEM wire is plenty heavy enough for what they are doing. modern cars use large connectors where the wiring exits the body and it is very difficult to add new wire to these. most of the methods required to do so also cause damage to the factory connector and then you can no longer easily remove the door and reconnect it.

So, the small midrange speaker shares the same volume in the door with the 6.5 woofer. Why do I have the impression this is not a good thing and ideally the speaker volumes should be separated?
Recently got a Silverado SS, had to change a passenger side speaker, and found out it had a full focal speker system what do u recomendo to use in subwoofers to make a good compliment with the rest of the system, was planning to run 2 8" subwoofers in a under seat ported box.
I had a guy in a older gt500 showing off his 10K stereo, saying it was the best in town. He was pretty upset when he heard my 3K all JL Audio system in my 94 F150, lmfao.
You won't win the battle against this Mustang, but stereo systems are only as good as the tuning.. You can have the best ingredients in the world, but if you do not know how to cook, it wont turn out that good.
It it's tuned with a DSP, fully active setup, then I believe it will sound better than most aftermarket systems for double the amount that lack a DSP/tuning. If you are just talking about more bass, it comes down to who provided more internal airspace and designed a better enclosure.
@@SoundsGoodStereo yes I'm running JL Audios DSP. Plus I'm fixing too upgrade my C3's too the C7's not cause I need them, just cause I want them. I can literally play anything on my stereo and it sounds amazing.

Yes, on most of the systems, delete the center. We recreate the center "image" by using a digital signal processor. Only when we cross the $20K mark to we entertain upgrading the center channel. To do it correctly, we need a good speaker, a good amplifier, and a DSP that handles the center channel appropriately. Awesome build….but, $20k!!! Come on guys. You must’ve had to change out amps, unless the ohms on the fox Al’s matched the output from the oem amps? I’d personally like to see an Audison sound processor for this money.
Install should cost about as much as the product if not more. $300 rockford mono costs like $200-250 to install. Should you really expect a $2,000 Audison Voce mono to cost the same? Would you trust a $60 per hour mechanic on your $300,000 Lamborghini?
At $250-300, you are probably not building a custom amplifier rack to house the amplifier. That is labor for wiring by itself. You add in 10-channels of active amplification, complete sound treatment, custom CNC and laser cut speaker adapters, CAD designing, false stealth floor enclosure, hours of DSP tuning and now you have your labor cost. Yes, the labor is always the same as the gear and the difference is higher end gear requires more to setup and many time more custom labor to match the customers lifestyle.
I’m confused why does the focal 3 way look like a k2’s my wife has the same focal 3 way in her jeep wrangler and the cone material and even the tweeter look different , the subs look right.
1:17:26 I would have thought that you would leave them flaps on there and stick them down as well to give it extra material to stick to for added strength and hold. Glue must be really strong.
Not needed with our process / glue choice we are using. I thought the same thing 15 years ago, but Sage explained how it could actually hurt the final results by leaving it.
We have some on order. The problem is the guys will grab and use it so its hard to keep it reserved for "sale". Give us a few weeks and we will have it ready. You need the exterior and interior protection?
I see the 2 cars.. no mention of any other system going into the other car earlier in the video or in the description so kinda threw me off. Wondered if the customer changed their mind or if the flax didn't fit. I have the k2s in my Flex but was curious about the flax is all .
We started the first one and another customer of ours begged up to do his Mustang.. So it's identical systems, gear, etc except interior speakers. Made it very efficient for us and the two clients benefited from this to help reduce the custom fab costs.
Some videos we play the system, but unless you have a $5K pair of headphones, not sure what kind of "Sound Quality" you are going to hear. It's like watching a live concert on RUclips that someone recorded on a GoPro, not the same experience as being there in person.
Okay video 🤔 need to change the title to custom subwoofer system for Shelby gt500. Since that’s what the video was mainly about. I was interested in how you did the door speakers and stuff and you skipped right over that stuff 🫤👎. Then again I wouldn’t do this to a Shelby, my stereo system would be the exhaust lol 😂

I have a 2019 mustang convertible I have 2 runs of xspower 0 gauge one power one ground going back. I have the same focal 3 way front component set in front being it's convertible I had no space had to run neo 6.5 in the sides of the back. I have a crossfire 800.4 running the mids and highs and a crossfire 800.1 running a single sundown x8 @ 1ohm. Now I have factory battery under the hood plan on doing a big 3 and have a xspower d1200 for for in the trunk but I don't see any one doing builds in these mustangs and using extra batteries. What was used for electrical in this car? I know the 2 runs I have are over kill but do I not need the batter in the back? Do I have to do a big 3?
We design our systems for efficiency, so no need for electrical upgrades. To do this, you will need to use efficient speakers, amplifiers, enclosure design along with setting the levels with a Oscilloscope. Then the final tune with a DSP to ensure no wasted energy is transferred to heat that is not needed to be.
Sometimes its best to mix brands. Imagine if Pepsi created a car, breakfast cereal, manufacturing shoes and started building houses. Would you buy EVERYTHING Pepsi? Probably not, some companies just excel at different things and it takes experience to know how to mix these together properly.
No, in this vehicle we recreated the a phantom center with the Mosconi 8to12 Aerospace DSP. So you would never know the center channel is not playing and customers always swear there is a center channel....
I almost always get rid of the center channel. most aftermarket equipment is not setup for it and most audio is recorded in stereo anyways which means that the factory center channel was made up and not how the sound engineer that did the mix intended it to sound.
I dont think B&O has actually built anything themselves in decades. They just design. Someone else makes the stuff. Philips/Magnavox built their stuff from the 70s-90s. Maybe in the 00s too. Makes sense they'd just slap their name on Sony gear.

Yes, but if it is a true B&O, the FD21 will not work. We use the Zen A2B or PAC has a new FD coming out for the true B&O system 👍
I only made it 9 minutes into the video and can tell that while you guys do probably build a killer sound system, it’s overkill, you don’t need ALL of that to have a really good sounding system
You do not need all of this for a good sounding system, that is correct.. But we are not building just good, rather remarkable system that pushes the envelope of stereo reproduction in vehicles. So all of this is needed to make this happen.
Of course you don't NEED it. That isn't the point of this install. Just like the customer didn't NEED the Shelby version of the Mustang.
People that can afford to have nice things like to pay for them.
But yes, you are correct. This video is NOT intended for someone that is just looking to have a cheap upgrade from their factory sound system.
I've got a 2005 GMC truck with foam surround speakers and they are still running strong. They don't use rubber because they don't need to in order to get them to last a reasonable amount of time.

No, if you go front firing, be sure to understand the acoustical challenges of this. Sometimes it is not as easy as it sounds
Dang, even with the rear seats down you think? Firing the subs into the cabin?
You will have to seal off the backwave of the subs, which means the rear deck lid, quarter panels, etc. No sound can go into the trunk or you will have acoustical cancellation. It won't hurt anything, you will just have a massive reduction in output.

Nice install. I'm was an MECP Master Certified installer for about 12 years. I got out of it because the economy took a crap. My questions is, why did you go with the perforated wood grill instead of a prefab perforated sheet metal grill. I've tested the wood style, and there is a lot of sound lost with that. The carpet, over the speakers, also deadens a lot of sound. Just curious why you chose that route?
Usually we will use sheet metal, but in large openings like this, the metal would resonate and not much you can do to stop it. We tested our panel/perforations in the first Mustang (two of them in this video) and it did not effect the bass performance that much in a negative way. The end result we did not feel it lacked in the bass department at all, so it was a great compromise/choice. Great question and observation by the way!!

Love the work Sage.... although I disagree about what Black hole Stuff does. It doesn't trick it into thinking it's a bigger enclosure. When the heat dissapates from the woofers it cools the air inside the enclosure faster to keep the woofers more efficient. We had a huge discussion about it years ago on the 12vinsider and Bill Basore who started Q Logic back in the day went into deep detail and showed it all charted on a graph. Pretty cool article if you want to ever check it out it's archived on there. Anyhow as I said awesome job as always guys
We ran some tests and filmed it. This video, at 4:58 when it starts. You can see how it lowers the tuning frequency of the enclosure by adding Blackhole Stuff in the appropriate amount.

Oh my goodness brother stinkin awesome clean and very professional build! But no sound sample😲, very disappointed with not gettin any sound sample. Maybe with some Binaural mics you could give us some cleannsound samples on builds after your done with them from inside the cab of the vehicle! Thay would be awesome!

For now, 99.9999% of customers have no way to hear the difference as their gear cannot reproduce the articulation, space and sound stage of these systems. But I understand. What wasn't the factory system giving the customer that he wanted? Did you guys listen to the system before the install ? It would have been awesome to get your customers reaction of the finished sound system and what he loved so much better about than the factory system. I look forward to seeing the other videos. The speakers are not anything special in either factory system. The factory systems leave alot to be desired and those that have experienced high fidelity sound, factory systems are borderline unusable. We wish we could show the customers reaction, but for privacy reasons, they will not want to be on camera, with there car and showcasing $$$$$ they spend on their "toys". But maybe we can work on filming other people experiencing the system and their face is always something of shock.

First time coming across your channel and I did enjoy the video and the breakdown. I think you guys did a great job. Do you guys ever deal with other DSP brands? I happen to be partial to Helix at this current time and have a Helix Ultra DSP, I love the interface for tuning them and making adjustments. Can't say that I have had the pleasure of dealing with anything from Mosconi but now you have me interested so at the very least I'm going to stop by a dealer and see how they function/sound. Not that I can actually afford it, but it would be nice to see and hear.
Most of the higher end DSPs are good, Mosconi, Helix, Arc Audio, etc. But these are just tools and requires hundreds of hours to really learn how to utilize these to their potential. For us, we have around 10 years of experience tuning Mosconi and every single project we do receives one. So for us, we can push the envelope of what's possible with a Mosconi, but you hand us another DSP and it will take hundreds of hours to get to the level we are now with the Mosconi. Hope that helps answer your question

Great video. Can you explain the sound difference between flax and K2.
Hard to explain, but simply put, as you go up in series in the Focal brand, not other brands, it is a substantial performance jump across the board. Everything is better, just cost more $$$.

Great video, just curious .... why you didn't run new 16g wire from amps to the speakers , instead of using the factory wiring and using something like the adapter interface by pac that hooks to the oem radio .
No need to upgrade beyond factory wiring on AC current. This is one of the biggest misconceptions in the car audio world and that's why we posted this article/post from Tony D'Amore from D'Amore Engineering. Until you reach 1000w of music to that speaker, no need to ever change it.

To add to what the OP said, since the OEM wire is plenty heavy enough for what they are doing. modern cars use large connectors where the wiring exits the body and it is very difficult to add new wire to these. most of the methods required to do so also cause damage to the factory connector and then you can no longer easily remove the door and reconnect it.

You will need to try it, might be better closed off. Every vehicle is different and we have not tried that in this vehicle.

So, the small midrange speaker shares the same volume in the door with the 6.5 woofer. Why do I have the impression this is not a good thing and ideally the speaker volumes should be separated?
The door acts as a IB setup. It works well in the Mustang and some other vehicles. Just do not put them next to each other or in a enclosure together.

Recently got a Silverado SS, had to change a passenger side speaker, and found out it had a full focal speker system what do u recomendo to use in subwoofers to make a good compliment with the rest of the system, was planning to run 2 8" subwoofers in a under seat ported box.
Depends on the rest of the system and the tuning capabilities. Just respect the subwoofers airspace and tuning requirements.
I had a guy in a older gt500 showing off his 10K stereo, saying it was the best in town. He was pretty upset when he heard my 3K all JL Audio system in my 94 F150, lmfao.
You won't win the battle against this Mustang, but stereo systems are only as good as the tuning.. You can have the best ingredients in the world, but if you do not know how to cook, it wont turn out that good.

It it's tuned with a DSP, fully active setup, then I believe it will sound better than most aftermarket systems for double the amount that lack a DSP/tuning. If you are just talking about more bass, it comes down to who provided more internal airspace and designed a better enclosure.
@@SoundsGoodStereo yes I'm running JL Audios DSP. Plus I'm fixing too upgrade my C3's too the C7's not cause I need them, just cause I want them. I can literally play anything on my stereo and it sounds amazing.
@@SoundsGoodStereo agreed. I've had people bring 5k+ installs into my shop that sound terrible and I've also made garbage equipment sound way better than it had any right to just by doing the right things for the install and using the right accessories.
What did you guys do with the dash center channel? Delete it?
Yes, on most of the systems, delete the center. We recreate the center "image" by using a digital signal processor. Only when we cross the $20K mark to we entertain upgrading the center channel. To do it correctly, we need a good speaker, a good amplifier, and a DSP that handles the center channel appropriately.

Awesome build….but, $20k!!! Come on guys. You must’ve had to change out amps, unless the ohms on the fox Al’s matched the output from the oem amps? I’d personally like to see an Audison sound processor for this money.
All of the gear we used is in the description, check it out and add it up. Then add 120 hours of labor on top and see what you come up with 👍
Install should cost about as much as the product if not more. $300 rockford mono costs like $200-250 to install. Should you really expect a $2,000 Audison Voce mono to cost the same? Would you trust a $60 per hour mechanic on your $300,000 Lamborghini?
At $250-300, you are probably not building a custom amplifier rack to house the amplifier. That is labor for wiring by itself. You add in 10-channels of active amplification, complete sound treatment, custom CNC and laser cut speaker adapters, CAD designing, false stealth floor enclosure, hours of DSP tuning and now you have your labor cost. Yes, the labor is always the same as the gear and the difference is higher end gear requires more to setup and many time more custom labor to match the customers lifestyle.

Not needed with our process / glue choice we are using. I thought the same thing 15 years ago, but Sage explained how it could actually hurt the final results by leaving it.

I see the 2 cars.. no mention of any other system going into the other car earlier in the video or in the description so kinda threw me off. Wondered if the customer changed their mind or if the flax didn't fit. I have the k2s in my Flex but was curious about the flax is all .
We started the first one and another customer of ours begged up to do his Mustang.. So it's identical systems, gear, etc except interior speakers. Made it very efficient for us and the two clients benefited from this to help reduce the custom fab costs.

I have a 2019 mustang convertible I have 2 runs of xspower 0 gauge one power one ground going back. I have the same focal 3 way front component set in front being it's convertible I had no space had to run neo 6.5 in the sides of the back. I have a crossfire 800.4 running the mids and highs and a crossfire 800.1 running a single sundown x8 @ 1ohm.
Now I have factory battery under the hood plan on doing a big 3 and have a xspower d1200 for for in the trunk but I don't see any one doing builds in these mustangs and using extra batteries. What was used for electrical in this car? I know the 2 runs I have are over kill but do I not need the batter in the back? Do I have to do a big 3?
We design our systems for efficiency, so no need for electrical upgrades. To do this, you will need to use efficient speakers, amplifiers, enclosure design along with setting the levels with a Oscilloscope. Then the final tune with a DSP to ensure no wasted energy is transferred to heat that is not needed to be.

Sometimes its best to mix brands. Imagine if Pepsi created a car, breakfast cereal, manufacturing shoes and started building houses. Would you buy EVERYTHING Pepsi? Probably not, some companies just excel at different things and it takes experience to know how to mix these together properly.

No, in this vehicle we recreated the a phantom center with the Mosconi 8to12 Aerospace DSP. So you would never know the center channel is not playing and customers always swear there is a center channel....
I almost always get rid of the center channel. most aftermarket equipment is not setup for it and most audio is recorded in stereo anyways which means that the factory center channel was made up and not how the sound engineer that did the mix intended it to sound.
Yes.. We are starting to use a type of upmixer which retains "stereo, but provides better dimension to the sound stage. It's very interesting.

Kreg is the brand name, Pocket screw is the name of the fastener method itself. similar to people calling facial tissue a Kleenex regardless of brand.

I dont think B&O has actually built anything themselves in decades. They just design. Someone else makes the stuff. Philips/Magnavox built their stuff from the 70s-90s. Maybe in the 00s too. Makes sense they'd just slap their name on Sony gear.
