I’ve been playing music seriously since 1987 (and of course listening for my entire life) and in that time, I can count on one hand the amount of musicians, not just drummers, that have absolutely floored me like this dude does.

I listened to the original version and then his..... WTF? Absolute perfection beyond any expectation imaginable! WOW!
It all depends on what you expect. No doubt than El Estepario has an incredible technical skill but for narration and musicality, Rammstein is without any compromise, vastly superior.
@@Stephane2718 Rammstein is a band! Estapario is an innovative drummer. I wasn't claiming his spin on the drum track made Rammstein's entire version void! His version of the drum track is definitely superior than the original, no comparison or contest to be disputed.

The technicality is, as always, ridiculous, but this track in particular really showcases how incredible your drum sound is. The voicing of the kit, for this track especially is so so good!

Finally Rammstein! When I saw the thumbnail I was a little worried because I've known the song by heart since it came out; but of course that was unfounded. Not exaggerated or too much of this or that or too fast - no, none of that came true. It's terrific, fantastic! Thank you for that, Groovefather! 🤘

@@tonypaella RIght? I love this guy, have massive respect for the skill, speed, and complexity, but he is the walking epitome of overplay. While I enjoy his takes on the songs he covers, and he does what he does extremely well, the original drums often just fit the song and style much better.
@@ucheehQ personally I watch it precisely because he is overplaying. He's doing it in a way that makes me laugh and clap because some of it is so ridiculous and skillful. It's well documented that he can play it straight but there are enough people doing accurate straight covers out there

Sounds sarcastic to me, because I would argue, it is overplayed, like many of his covers.
Sure it is insane what he can pull off, and I would never be able to do the same.
But for me, it is just too much, and doesn't fit the song or it's mood etc.
I'd rather prefer "I play it that way, because it fits", than "I play it that way, because I can" - covers.
Of course that's subjective, and everyone has a different understanding of "overplay", but that's just my opinion.

They always embraced minimalism, which is why the drum parts are usually very straightforward. But it's always great to hear and see someone with talent take that and really fly with it. When bands do this in live settings, it's so refreshing and it makes it so much more exciting.

Excellent choice my friend! I am a jazz fusion drummer. I don’t really care about popularity, just being good and doing original music. In fact, never waste another moment of your life playing someone else’s stuff when you can create something original. Ultimately more satisfying!

Well, he isn't doing 1 for 1 covers. He is creating his own drum tracks over existing songs which by essence creates a brand new song.

I absolutely love the bass drum work on this. It just feels so good in the song. Plus the fills man, the buildup to the "moneyshot" that starts around the 2:20 mark is almost orgasmic. Love this!

I am delighted I get to enjoy the mastering of percussion, and drums specifically through your videos. I used to drum myself and play in different bands, but only as a hobby. Kids, wife and a job took priority over this over time, and sometimes we just don’t have time for it all. I love what I do for work, and the people I support by doing it, so not drumming is a nobrain sacrifice I make. So thank you for letting me enjoy it through you sir!
