    just found this video on your channel. I've been hired to dj at two events where these were being used. I think the person that was providing the service needed help with the setup, audio quality was not the best that night, not bad but not great. However, the system was brilliant. We did a silent beach party on Miami Beach where there's a sound ordinance, and not sound at all after 11:30p in some areas. We had three dj's on a small stage playing three different genres. guest were either dancing, or lounging or sitting with their feet in the water. best type of event I've thought about using these. Been trying to brainstorm on ways to use it, but they are a hard sell. I think for something like a beach party, at a museum or other place where "quiet" is the norm i think these are an easy sell. The system was simple. hardest part I find is handing them out and setting up a system to secure their return, in our case a drivers license was held until the headphone returned. I'm sure there are a million other ways to use these, they work well and bring a pretty cool factor that makes it easy to sell, but only for the right event.

    As much as I prefer the more bass heavy setup of speakers and subs, I think silent discos have their place considering how many venues get warnings and fines for noise violations.

    Weve done quite a few pf these and theyre always a massive hit. We do 3 djs and battle it out on who can get the most people on their color. We started seeing quiet clubs in NYC 5 years ago and in Philly 4 years ago. I’ve danced with them and spun through them. It’s a lot of fun. Large, multi, genre room clubs have been replaced by small lounges. This allows you to have 3-5 different gendered/DJs in one venue.

    I've been to 2 silent parties. The first one had 2 DJs on 2 channels, and I'm not a huge fan of that because there is still only 1 dance floor. If half the crowd is listening to 1 channel, and the other half is on the other it's disruptive.
    The second one I went to was 1 channel and it was outdoor, and as you mentioned I figured it was a noise level thing. However I guess the headphones were cheap as they got static and lost connection not that far from the DJ booth, which is idd as the party was in Japan which is the mecca of technology.

    • @ClevelandTerry
      @ClevelandTerry  4 года назад +2

      I’ve done it plenty of times with 2 channels. I wouldn’t call it disruptive. It’s definitely different but it adds some fun to the party. And yes, there are cheap headphones out there.

    I still don't understand, as a dj, how you can mix music because, without silent party, you can hear music coming out from the speakers and use headphones for mixing the next song. But in silent party you use only headphones, so how can I mix the two songs without using speakers?

    Do you occasionally get static in a headphone channel from one transmitter trying to push a signal through to another channel if the transmitters are too close to each other or too close to the guest? The transmitter manual says the "transmitters should be 10 meters from the guests/headphones". I bought 50 ft. RCA cords so I can spread the transmitters out which seems to fix the problem. I always wondered if other Silent disco users had similar issues.
