    Probably my favorite incarnation of Ganondorf because just like Link, he’s been given a lot more personality than just “i’m evil and i want hyrule heh heh heh”. This Ganondorf had a lot more time to reflect on what he did. He got a bit more backstory. He even refused to kill Link and Zelda as he only needed their triforce pieces. And after his wish was stolen, he had nothing left to lose. He knew that he was going to die. So in a last ditch effort he tries to take Link and Zelda with him.

      Are we forgetting that he killed the 2 sages that gave the Master Sword its power, and that he kidnapped innocent children to find the Triforce of Wisdom?

    • @macnamaryb7773
      @macnamaryb7773 Год назад +33

      @@AkameGaKillfan777 well, yes he did. However, those were "necessary" acts to further his plan. Obviously, if the sages are powering the Master Sword, then Ganondorf is at the mercy of a blade that has defeated him before in OoT, and he's not going to let that stand. As for the children, sure, you could argue that he could just release them, but 1. I believe he feeds them to Helmaroc, which is likely how he keeps a leash on it, and 2. secrecy is important to him. If these random girls were constantly getting snatched up and dropped off, Helmarocs travel time would likely make it easier to trace to the fortress, never mind that the captives would have seen the defenses and, hypothetically, be able to plan around them. Yes, Ganondorf could move around the defenses of his Moblin patrols, but the searchlights are pretty set in stone. Not to mention, if he were to shuffle patrols for every girl, then he would spend more time reorganizing the defense of his fortress than actually pursuing the Triforce.
      As seen with Link and Zelda, Ganondorf clearly no longer derides pleasure from killing, and only does so in instances of the greatest importance or to maintain his weakened presence in the world. When Ganondorf snaps at the end of the game, that is his reawakening of his sadism because there is nothing left for him to do before he dies anyway, so may as well indulge in some good old fashioned blood sport.

    • @thefatass500
      @thefatass500 Год назад +12

      Yeah, this whole battle at the end was nothing more than a temper tantrum. I mean, Ganondorf already failed at this point, thanks to Daphnes a short moment ago; what did he have to gain from defeating Link in terms of his goal, other than "if I die, I'm taking you with me!"?

    My county lay within a vast desert.
    When the Sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night a frigid Gale pierced our homes.
    No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing. . . Death.

And ganondorf is just trying to hold on to the legend of hyrule but in the end everything including the master sword, hyrulean shield, the land of hyrule as we know it. None of it comes back. Not even the master sword. It's forever bound to the ocean.

    The spectacle of this boss fight is arguably the best in the Zelda series. This ancient conflict is about to come to an end, your fighting this ancient enemy who now has nothing left to lose, with hyrule being flooded forever with torrential rains falling all around you, the story of ancient hyrule is about to be closed forever, with the death of the king, ganondorf and even the master sword. What makes this fight so intense is the stakes. With the other Ganon/Ganondorf fights it’s always the fate of Hyrule or the world is in the balance, but in the game, Hyrule is already gone. So instead of Link fighting Ganondorf to save Hyrule, Link is fighting him to save your own life. He’s done with everything, he’s practically given up on life, and if he’s going out, he’s going to take Link and Zelda with him as well. That’s what makes this battle so great.

    This song really hit me hard when I facing Ganon.
    The theme really tells of the past dying. Even if you lost, Hyrule was still going to die. You then thought to yourself. "Oh my god, this is the true end. Should I push on and leave to fight on, or should I die along with the tradition." It's a great theme and for all you thinking Ganon is fat in this. He leaps like half of the battle arena. You think a fat guy can do that? And bear in mind, he looks big cause Link is just a kid.

    My favorite Ganondorf battle. He casts aside any pretense of magical combat in favor of two swords which he uses in an awesome fighting style. Then he changes up his blocking patterns at several points throughout the battle to counter what you're doing to hit him. No energy tennis, no pomp and circumstance...just an angry Gerudo demigod taking out his frustration on his nemesis.
    ...Zelda, please...if I can't see you, I can't tell when you're about to shoot an arrow. Wait until we're both in position!

    What a shame that this final battle was so easy, but I like that it was made easy deliberately (in my opinion) given 1) the moderately difficult battle before this and 2) Ganondorf knew he was fucked and basically attacked in a blind rage, causing any strategy to go flying out the window, making this an easy fight for Link and Zelda. Good storytelling, I hope to see the same in Zelda WiiU.

    Definitely fits. You can still hear echoes of the Ganon we all know, but it's more desperate, more fast-paced, and way more aggressive. He knows full well he's lost, and at this point he just wants to drag you all down to the depths with him. Nothing is scarier nor more dangerous than one who has lost everything.
    Also can I just say how annoying it is to land the parry attack from his jumping slash? You've got to be deliberately far away from him or your roll will carry you right past him for some reason.

    I always imagined 0:45 as the voice of the gods, highlighting how they've done all they could in this situation (technically with the Triforce's wish) but are still secretly cheering Link and Zelda on. However, the melody of the song descends, showing that while they cheer him on, the situation is dire.
    And there will be no Round 2.

    Ocarina of Time's final battle is still my favorite for its epic, cinematic, and mythological scale and style, but Wind Waker comes in a very close second (with all the other final battles trailing by a fairly wide margin). This is the most personal the conflict between Link and Ganondorf has ever been, given it was kicked off by Ganondorf sending his pet Helmaroc King to kidnap Tetra and Link's sister and then he personally confronts Ganondorf over it at the Forsaken Fortress.
    Now with water raining from above, drowning the land Ganondorf had coveted, you can feel the intense and bitter venom of a battle with a man that has lost everything he has sought to obtain. It also ends in one of the most spectacular final blows of the series, a plunging-from-above stab right to the head.

  • @phoenixchampion7
    @phoenixchampion7 Год назад +2

    Honestly, I really enjoyed this fight because of how hard it was compared to most of your other battles in the game.
    It's 2v1 and you're still on the back foot in this fight.
    Ganondorf blocks almost all of your attacks coming at him, and the Back Strike reaction attack is almost useless because he steps forward with his attacks moving out of range of your counter.
    He knocks out Tetra half way through the fight forcing you to need to find a way through his guard so she can't stun him for you anymore.
    Once Zelda does recover he dodges her Light Arrows effortlessly, even while he's blocking your attacks...
    Excuse me, I'm gonna go load up my old Wind Waker file real quick.

    It wasn't the first Zelda game I played, I've done a lot of them and heard their themes before I played TP, but for some reason if Ganondorf is brought up, it's ALWAYS that one I think of first (followed by the Ganon fight from OoT)

    I still haven't played Wind Waker, but this theme is just plain badass, shows how much this game must be good, I definitely want a Gamecube for my birthday, for this and Twilight Princess :3

      The game is as badass as the music makes it sound, I promise that!

      I know it was 2 years ago, but the Wii U has the better versions of both of these games, aside from the item controls in WW.

      I think that Game Grumps has run its course and that they need to move on to other projects, but they have their moments.

    I can't shake the feeling that this desig of Ganondorf reminds me of Aku from Samurai Jack. Huge black kimono, orange hair, GREAT FLAMING EYEBROWS.

    Por que Nintendo tiene que hacer juegos tan hermosos en todos los sentidos. Son las mejores historias, las mejores bandas sonoras y los de mejor jugabilidad, en mi opinion.
    A pesar de que estan equivocandose en los nuevos Zelda's, pienso que esta compañia es la unica que se preocupa por hacer un juego que agrade, que te sientas como un todopoderoso al terminar el juego, y no que provoque una puta adiccion solamente por estar matando y matando y matando y matando, no les encuentro sentido.
    Los temas de las batallas finales son increibles, la musica hace que el corazon te lata mas rapido, se siente tan bien. ¿Por que ya no hacen juegos asi?
    A veces quisiera tener dinero para poder comprarme todos los juegos que disfrute en mi infancia, seria feliz volviendo a transcurrir los momentos, las batallas y cada dialogo de esos juegos que me marcaron.

      Es realmente cierto los soundtracks de legend of zelda son los mejores. Es que cuando juegas y escuchas esta musica divina te entra un sentimiento de "yo puedo" y incluso te llegas a poner en la piel de Link. Nintendo ultimamente es cierto que lo esta fastidiando pero no me compares estos soundtracks con los de call of duty o GTA hay mucha diferencia. ¡¡ Viva Nintendo y sus juegos miticos!!

      xdan Zelda TP fue muy facil, si hermoso en historia y musica, pero muy sencillo.
      Zelda SS ha sido el 2do peor Zelda que jugue. Solamente no me dejo con ese sentimiento y los diseños de los jefes pudieron haber sido tremendamente mejores (Exceptuando a Demise claro esta). Y Zelda ALBW. Que para mi tiene una historia muy mala y es el juego mas sencillo de Zelda hasta ahora. En mi opinion.

    Hope they'll release you in HD on the 3DS too! You're my favorite video game hero of all time! (2nd is Mario and 3rd is Sonic) I'm a huge Zelda fan since I played Phantom Hourglass, which was my first Zelda game. You're definitely the coolest Link in the series!!!

    Kinda interesting how I just started playing Wind Waker for myself for the first time, even after having owned the game for six months and putting it off, and this theme pops into my recommended box.
