I compleately get it, about just a common food item being wonderful when you haven't been allowed to eat it for a while. Three years ago I had to have a stomach surgery, and before that I had to be on a liquid diet for four weeks, because you needed to loose a certain percentage of the fat in the liver or something so it wouldn't be in the way, and the day of the surgery I wasn't allowed to eat anything for 10 hours before, and after I couldn't have anything straight away either, so it wasn't until the next morning I could finally have a little to eat. My breakfast that day was literally just a cup of plain yoghurt, but that was seriously the best tasting plain yoghurt I've ever had.
When I got my tonsils removed. IT WAS THE WORST 2 WEEKS OF MY LIFE! I agree about ppl taking food for granted. I couldn't even eat the food bc my throat hurt so bad. I refused to take the medicine to help with pain for like a week bc it burned my throat. My dad finally came and made me take the medicine and eat... I ate like 5 spoon fulls of some type of soup.. I wouldnt eat verry much.. And also the second to last day of the first week I might have had alot of blood loss bc of scabs coming off my throat but thplplplplplplplpl I dont talk about that part

I’m very late to this but- I remember when I was younger I got hand foot and mouth disease. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a virus were you get rashes on your hands and feet, fever, and welts in your mouth. It was painful for me, I couldn’t really eat anything since it hurt to eat. I was stuck on mashed bananas, jello, and chicken broth for 2 weeks. And the only reason I ended up pulling through is I listened to angsty fanfiction readings on RUclips- Specifically a sander sides podfic reading called “every time we touch” It was about the idea of touch starvation, in the story Patton needed touch like food and when he’s touch starved, he literally starves. I still love it to this day-
I watch lovestorys and drama movies bc I want to live vicariously through the characters (there ain't no romance)(there ain't no drama (technically good, but drama makes life more interesting sometimes))

I actually almost had to go through this same situation recently with getting my jaw wired shut but the reason why I almost got into this situation because my wisdom teeth were coming in and so were my molers and apparently my jaw was misaligned because of my under bite I thought my under bite was just a normal thing in was born with but apparently when I grew up it got worse and now whenever I bite down it bites the back of my cheek and I couldn't even control it but a few weeks later my mouth somehow got better and of course I'm glad it sorta stopped hurting because my life is already a living hell from being bullied all my life dispite me being a gentle giant and me having to go through having my mouth wired shut I would rather kill myself than go through that.

First off the dentist needed an Impression to put on an attachment to slowly stretch my jaw. She basically said: "Okay, this ain't gonna work. Let's try something to help." And she put these little rubber bands between my teeth to add room. I could have just gotten braces but *NoOoOoO! I HAD TO GET FREAKING RUBBER BANDS!* Well anyway. Once I had them on for a week and a week of only jello, ice cream and ramen, she could finally take them off. Time to add the attachments! it did not hurt as much as I thought it would. I had to keep them on for like 5 months. So that was both my underbite AND my small jaw fixed! I still have my thrust tongue today but it has never caused any problems. I have not had any mouth problems since!
During quarantine, my mom came home when I was watching this and she was carrying something called a Roul's burger... try it... it tastes better than it sounds...
