Thank you. That is a lens I quite fancy getting hold of. I have the Samyang 14mm which is really nice but has quite a lot of fisheye effect. Its nice to get out with just the camera. Clear skies
Should have gone to specsavers!! Lol I found it gave better contrast but its a matter of taste at the end of the day. I think in light polluted areas the filter would be more effective where here I often shoot without filters with my osc cameras
Looks like a good filter, a sort of a contrast booster I guess. I use an L-Pro clip-in filter in my eos Ra, gives beautiful results. Thanks for making those interesting videos Glenn, keep up the good work
It did add a nice level of contrast and not too much in my opinion so a nice filter. I have the EOS R which I really like but whats the RA like? I did see one up for sale but it was like £4k which was way more than I can afford. Thinking of getting a 6D mk1 and astro modding it. Thanks for watching and your kind comments, clear skies.
@@Astrobloke Hey Glenn, yes I really like the Ra, it picks up a lot of nebulosity. I also have a normal eos R, and I am thinking on letting it fully modded for IR. I know the prices of the Ra are going through the roof, don't know why though. If you let a normal eos R modded than it's exactly the same I guess, or am I missing something ?
Yes - get out there at night with your DSLR!! A great public service message, Glenn! So far I’ve not used any LP filters for astro because I’d understood (maybe incorrectly) that it’s nearly impossible to filter white light LEDs compared to emission lines from the old yellow sodium lights. So this was helpful to see the impact that those filters can have; it looks like it enables you to capture in camera what might otherwise be possible in post-production, but without all the faff. Thanks for sharing as ever. Can I conclude you’re now a fully-fledged nightscape shooter? 😉
Thank you I found the filter to be quite good and gave a nice contrast without too much of a colour cast. I didn't really have much light pollution to test its ability to block unwanted light. I will try and live up to the mantle of fully-fledged nightscape shooter but I really want to start getting images like I am seeing you get. Will need to adventure further afield. Clear skies
@@Astrobloke tonnes of interesting locations for Astro in your neck of the woods (once it all dries out) so if you ever want to shoot together drop me a line. Hope you’re all safe.
@@nightscapejournals Paul that would be a great thing to do and would be a pleasure to meet you. Can you send me a message (Astrobloke@outlook.com) We can then exchange details and arrange something. Simon and I have discussed a few ideas because as you say there are some good locations here.
Great video. Agreed as I've been having the most fun lately with my Samyang 135mm.

Is it just me with my old eyes or were the photos better without the filter , great video

Looks great
Thanks
I’ve bought from them before and nice equipment. Will take a look at this filter now as loved your images. Clear skies!
Yes I like their stuff too. Thanks for watching, clear skies
Looks like a nice filter Glenn nice to see you out with just a DSLR because that's all I have for the time being,
Hi Tony. Nothing wrong with that mate. I really enjoy it as its nice and simple and you can sit back and enjoy the night sky a bit more.

Nice review Glenn and lovely images. Like you say its good to go back to just a camera sometimes, looks a nice filter, will have a look, thanks
Thank you Mark. Always good to get back to basics. Clear skies
nice mate, i have the xpro series i used for long exposures down cornwall in the summer for some daytime shots, will have to check this filter out 👍
Thank you for watching. I will be looking at some ND filters they do as I have enjoyed using this one a lot. Nicely made and not a silly price
