Oh I'm sold. I'm buying this set up. Yeah I absolutely hate changing the oil on my 6.7. I've done it both ways through wheel well or remove air filter. Both suck. I've got the oil filter plug or top hat whatever u wanna call it. It helps with the mess. I'm relocating. This seems awesome
I like how he states the torque specs as the other guy just uses wrenches and sockets. It’s just like parents telling their kids “Do as I say, not as I do”.
For certain. It's exactly when I go "crap, I don't have a crows nest wrench that fits this." Hummmmph. That should be tight enough. Many broken / stripped bolts before I got the art of this down.
They have to list torque spec for the novice that has no sense/experience of feel. If you think any hydraulic shop is using a torque wrench on hose ends then you're oblivious.
Parts appear to be of good quality, but I don't like the location. Small fender-bender could knock your filter off/cause a leak. Highway speed blowout could also slap that fender liner and cause oil loss too.
Personally, I would have put straight [JIC] fittings on the remote filter housings and have 90 degree connections on the hose.... but sometime space limitation can't go there as minimum bend radius creates a need for more headroom. Side by side 90's in a fixed housing can be awkward and sometimes impossible.
What's the pumping loss since there are 90 degree fittings and downsizing from 1 inch head to what looks to be half inch line? For the price, surely you have R&D performed on the function rather than just fitment.
@@garyrichards6041I know it’s months later but I just installed this literally an hour ago and I added and extra 1/2 quart to make me feel good inside. I check the level initially and it was on the safe area on the dip stick but barely. So I can safely say 12.5 quarts will do it on the 6.7 Cummins. Cheers
@@TexasDraped your statement makes absalutely no sense since the dipstick reads level from the oil pan. You would fill it before even starting it. Letting it run for 10 mins and then suddenly showing on the stick is hogwash.
Critical... no, but not something I would recommend to a friend. Most engine wear happens at startup, so I fill as the mount will allow on a remote filter setup. Of course, block mounted filters don't always accomodate that practice, but cold oil is bypassing on startup anyway, so its liveable. Between hoses and a large filter housing, that is something near a quart of oil capacity to account for.

A lot of ifs to rule out the benefits of this unit is it not???😮

On the kit HP10363 for Ram 1500 Classic 2020, will the filter remain the same as OEM on the remote head ?

The oil pump is a "positive displacement" type. The flow rate doesn't change regardless of downstream restrictions.
Anyone know if there will there be any rubbing issues for larger tires (37s+ or so) when full lock turning left?
Does PavPro make units for Toyota cars ?
How much extra oil is needed to fill the hoses?
same question
I third this question
No answer guys since I asked 8 months ago. They are fixed length hoses, I would think someone would have researched that out?🤷♂️

@@tlk2me24 have you noticed any difference in idle pressure?
CAN YOU TELL ME HOW TO CONVERT A late Model GM V-6 cannister oil filter to a Spin On ????
Is it critical to pre-fill the new filter with oil? any issue if you don't?
If you dont prefill filter then the engine runs dry longer until the oil pump fills the oil filter and then top of the engine
No. I've been changing my own oil in two different Cummins equipped Ram trucks and I've never prefilled the oil filter.
@@zash008 I installed this and it took about 10 mins of running the engine before the oil even showed up on the dipstick. I was a little worried

Ill add this to my 2017 6.7L Ram, I just changed the oil filter and its time consuming.
Awesome. These remote oil filters help a lot!
It still a pain in the ass. You still have to deal with the fender well. It would be better to mount it on the frame.
It does mount to the frame but some people opt to remove the inner fender well to make install easier.
Way easier to change.. you bust not have a ram with a cummins..
wish it was simpler
