In this response video, I address the misconceptions raised by Keerthi History regarding the teaching of the Indus Valley Civilization. Contrary to her claim that children are only taught about the civilization's drainage system, I delve into the depths of history textbooks to showcase the extensive knowledge imparted about this remarkable ancient civilization. From its urban planning, trade networks, sophisticated script, and artistic achievements to its agricultural practices and social structure, my video reveals a comprehensive understanding of the Indus Valley Civilization that goes far beyond the drainage system.

The present day Hinduism wasn't followed by IVC people. But they practiced early stages of Hinduism. In other words, Hinduism which has changed drastically since the time of its origin actually originated in the Sindhu Civilization

In fact we had an elaborate chapter on Indus valley civilization in our NCERT textbook.
A few months ago I went to the national musuem. There I saw a toy kitchen set, about 4,800 years old. 4,800 years ago someone took the effort to make them for a child. And she played with it, much like how young little girls play today. There, I felt a direct connection to people who lived so long ago.

I clearly remember that my history textbook had information about Communal bath, Granaries, developed roadways and many more from The Indus Valley Civilisation chapter. The fact that I can recall these even after so many years is a prove in itself of how proud and fascinated I was when I read the chapter for the first time. Maybe Ms. Keerthi did her schooling from a different board of education.. NCERT and ICSE history textbooks have Indus Valley details in separate chapter of ancient Indian history.. even most probably fnyhe State board HSC history textbooks mention in detail about it.. so which board did Ms. Keerthi do her schooling in? Even if that's not the case she's a history graduate, I'm sure she would have had classmates from different school boards.. she could have atleast asked them 🤔

I'm a Civil Engineer. Building an efficient drainage system to suit the needs of the city is in fact very challenging. The fact that they did it that many years ago without the knowledge of metallurgy is very commendable. So there's nothing to be ashamed of.

I do remember watching this short of Keerthi like months ago (now her videos don't come into my feed anymore 😁) but as far as I can remember people in the comments section did point it out. People did take a notice of it and explained that the very mention of an extensive drainage system, public baths, two storeyed building and well connected roads was indeed an indication of the advancement of the civilization.

I learned about IVC in 4th grade and even did projects about it. I was in IB board. I also remember studying Egyptian and Sumerian civilization. I made a snake and ladder sorta game as a project. Some 15 years later those memories were revieved when i saw that game board in Berlin's State Museums where they have a great collection of Egyptian items. It literally brought tears to my eyes. I never imagined i would even think about that game again.
We should not just take pride in IVC but also other civilizations of humans. Your genetic descent shouldn't matter when taking pride in history. We are all humans and are related.

These things history books didn't tell about Gandhi Nehru etc. Like abhijeet chavda , beer biceps and all...I don't think Ranveer has ever seen a history textbook of class 11 and 12... I think it depends on the state and also in CBSE there is not much about it in the texts as far as I remember while my sister studied and in my state syllabus it was just a short chapter.
In my ICSE syllabus, I was taught about Indus valley in 7th standard and then again in more details in 9th standard

In our WB state board Indus valley was covered in depth in class 6 history book. From that book we came to know that Indus had trade links with ancient Persia and Sumer.

It's the person's viewpoint and thinking which makes him/her become egoistic and bigoted with their religion and culture... pride is good, but when u say it forcefully it shows ur staunch mindset. I personally think there is nothing to be proud of...it's a fact that they used such technologies at that time which is still surprising but it's also a fact that we don't know about it completely as we couldn't yet decipher the language, but attaching our feelings corrupts the fact.
