Imagine if he kicked that exactly when the clock struck midnight and brought in the new year by sending his team to the title game. Well, so much for poetry 😂
In case they find themselves in a situation like this. Up one or two points, but you have all the best kickers on your team so there's no way in hell the opposing team can win even if they get in field goal range with their average kicker. It's very strategic lol
Most of us can’t even imagine how that kid felt after missing that field goal. It had to be a long, quiet plane ride home for the entire team, but especially for that kid! I’d bet he sat by himself in the back of the plane. He will need some Ambien to sleep for a few nights! This happens to all kickers from time to time, but in this game?!?!?😢
I almost had a heart attack. What a game, Much Respect for Ohio State. Stroud and the OSU Offense were the best in the nation today. The stats are closer than any game I can remember. It's heartbreaking for OSU a dang missed field goal. I LOVE MY DAWGS they fought back hard against a heck of a team. OSU had a bad game vs Michigan. It would have been cool to see a rematch. Next year OSU , UGA, FSU and LSU. Go DAWGS!!! Gotta play harder than tonight. All 4 teams deserved to be here.

As an Ohio State fan, you knew Georgia was gonna score and you KNEW we weren't gonna make the game winning drive. That's how this year went. I'm not mad at Ruggles at all. Ryan Day put a KID in a spot to hit a damn 50 yard winner. He did nothing to push forward and make it easier. This is Ryan Day's legacy. Good enough to get there. Not good enough to reach the Top of the mountain.
If Georgia would have played like they are used to, rush 4 and kept the pressure on that kick never would have happened. I blame Dawgs defense coordinator. I mean you seen where Smart had to heel his chain at the beginning of the 4th, and we won by one.
The same legacy Georgia dealt with under Mark Richt for 15 years. Not good enough to win the big games. I was ELATED the day they finally fired him! Even more so when they hired Kirby.
One thing is for sure, the committee got it right this year. Two great games feature 4 teams that proved the deserved to be in these games. Think about how many games were blowouts by teams that should not have been there.
I will never be a Buckeye fan and will always root against them. I do as a man, feel for the Kicker. It's easy to say but tough to do, this was still a phenomenal game.
Georgia calling a timeout before they could get a “practice kick” off helped immensely too. Great call on their part. It’s a game of centimeters, because that kicker could be the biggest hero for Ohio if he hit in the right spot.
It's Georgia's time, has been a bit, but EVERY program (that matters) rises and falls. Someone else will knock um down shortly, then recruiting, coaches. Etc will shift and new power houses will rise. I don't think there's any honest Georgia fan that wouldn't agree that they were the loudest 8-3 fans for about 2 decades. They earned it, it's been a long time since Herschel Walker
As a UGA let's be objective: UGA blocks a decent amount of FG's in games. Every kicker knows this and kirby had the fast unit out with an unchecked guy to his far right and 4 jammed in the middle. The kicker knew he had to go left upright and pulled it.
A bunch of calls go UGA’s way in this one, and as good as Stroud played, he choked the possession before. Then the coach shows zero confidence in him with two timeouts left and settles for a 50 yard field goal. Day blew this one.
I don’t know what game you were watching but I seen a shit ton of no calls on Ohio State. Didn’t see any bad no calls on Georgia. The refs tried there hardest to give it to the buckeyes for sure.
4 penalties on osu 4 penalties on uga Uga had more penalty yards against them. Since when was 4 calls "a bunch"? If anything there were a lot of missed calls, both ways.
In the pros. many kickers kick a PAT the same strength of a 45-50 yarder so they never lose the feel. Ruggles usually puts far less power into his PATS and he was out of sync for the 50 yarder along with all the pressure which made it worse. Poor kid.
I switched to this broadcast with a couple minutes left. RUclips tv stopped letting me watch the main broadcast and this was the perfect stream to watch, great change of pace for a crucial play
It was one player, one play. I remember a dozen plays the coaches called that were completely ridiculous and other players that couldn’t catch or keep control of the ball at the right time. The game was lost after Harrison was pulled from the game.

As an OSU fan, I didn't think we even stood a chance. The team made us proud.
As a UGA fan I felt like OSU played the better game and probably should've won. I honestly feel bad for that kicker.
Big Ten record in CFB play-offs...... 3 wins, 7 losses
SEC vs Non-SEC in CFB play-offs... 13 wins, 3 losses
Big Ten record in CFB play-offs + BCS Natty...... 4 wins, 9 losses
SEC vs Non-SEC in CFB play-offs + BCS Natty... 21 wins, 4 losses
Big Ten = overrated.
@@carlmarks8170 Do you root for an entire conference, dude? lol
"Welcome to the rest of your life..."
Poor kid. 21 years old and knows it's not going to be anywhere near what the last 4 have been.
Imagine if he kicked that exactly when the clock struck midnight and brought in the new year by sending his team to the title game. Well, so much for poetry 😂
Michigan fan here. Buckeyes you played on hell of a game!!
so we both suffering rn xD
Why does Texas of all teams take all the clutch kickers and leave the insanely big schools the scraps
All 4 teams deserved to be here.
that game was insane start to finish, kirby smart is an amazing head coach
The laces were in ! THEY WERE IN !!
As an OSU fan, this game shouldnt have came down to this kick. We dominated all game.
Laces were out bruh the snap was perfect
You dominated for 3 quarters. You let the one that mattered get away, just like Michigan.
Yeah, and our defensive coordinator sucked. Dawgs should have ruled.
Seems odd how he started saying "oh no" a second before he even kicked it. Almost like he knew it was gonna happend
I think because the holder screwed it up first
it looks like there’s a bit of desync going on between the audio + pat’s video feed and the video of the game on the right. you can see the buckeye mascot react as soon as you hear the “oh no” but on the right side it’s barely been kicked. no way he could see it that fast
tape delay i think
@@blindamalgam7125 good point lol
@@aboutmillionsit was a perfect hold and snap
Greatest moment in CF history - ohio losing like that...
Soooo incredibly painful to watch. Still.... what a comeback by Georgia. Well done dogs.
Pat's face after the miss is like "oh shit, I jinxed em"
Nahh more like "I've been here before"🤣
One thing is for sure, the committee got it right this year. Two great games feature 4 teams that proved the deserved to be in these games. Think about how many games were blowouts by teams that should not have been there.
The build up and then the absolute shank is hilarious.
Feel for the kid. Glad see his teammates immediately coming to him side.
If they needed someone to completely take a shit at kicking a fieldgoal, i would have done it for $500 in NIL.
I hope they do coverage like that more often. Much more entertaining than the end of most games
I was watching this in a bar in Atlanta. Place went crazy then we did the countdown to new years. Crazy emotions.
I will never be a Buckeye fan and will always root against them. I do as a man, feel for the Kicker. It's easy to say but tough to do, this was still a phenomenal game.
I'm a BAMA fan but GA showed why they are champions just heart and guts
@Jamie Bishop Jr Did I say something wrong I complimented GA
There was no world where he was going to make that kick
Pat was saying oh no before the kicker even made contact with the ball. He knew something was off before he even kicked it…
unrelated but the blue eyed girl at 0:31 is fine as hell
I came to dig thru the comments to see if anyone happens to know who she is 🤣🤣
As a UGA let's be objective: UGA blocks a decent amount of FG's in games.
4 penalties on osu
4 penalties on uga
Uga had more penalty yards against them.
Since when was 4 calls "a bunch"?
If anything there were a lot of missed calls, both ways.
i always feel so bad for these kickers, man. the amount of pressure is enough to make a diamond.
Love that Pat was there with the guys AND with D-But! Love him on the show.
In the pros. many kickers kick a PAT the same strength of a 45-50 yarder so they never lose the feel. Ruggles usually puts far less power into his PATS and he was out of sync for the 50 yarder along with all the pressure which made it worse. Poor kid.
Ohio State losing is the best late Christmas present ever!
Yep. Made the Michigan loss a little easier to swallow
AJ Hawk took it like a pro. Props to him. I would have been cussing and bawling.
Pat knows the pain this kid is in. Plus the hell this kid will get.
CJ played the game of his life, only for his defense and kicker to blow it.
UGAs defense made stops when it mattered stop making excuses
My heart is broken… Congrats to Georgia. That’s a hell of a team.
Mine too😔
I knew that Ohio State would give us fits. And as far as I'm concerned that was the national championship game.. Go Dawgs
I switched to this broadcast with a couple minutes left. RUclips tv stopped letting me watch the main broadcast and this was the perfect stream to watch, great change of pace for a crucial play
His life has definitely changed!
It was one player, one play. I remember a dozen plays the coaches called that were completely ridiculous and other players that couldn’t catch or keep control of the ball at the right time. The game was lost after Harrison was pulled from the game.
AJ is definitely dying inside
Ray Finkle once said a million times " LACES OUT"
Missed by a mile but a phenomenal game none the less
That ball would have missed from 15 yards out. Terrible effort.
The game changed when Harrison got hurt. The other receivers couldn’t get as open as him.
Yep! Georgia cheap shotted him and got away with it. I just hope Marvin and Cade still have careers! What a f**king nightmare.
@@gregj831 Wasn’t a cheap shot at all
@@gregj831 he was inbounds trying to make a play in the end zone, were you expecting a high five?
@@gregj831 that was 100% a clean hit. Just cause his soft ass can’t handle the physicality of the SEC don’t mean you can make excuses for that charmin ultra WR. Gtfoh
@@ericduncan7266 You mean the cheating of the SEC? Did you WATCH the game? Ohio State handle Georgia VERY well actually! SEC is just a big HYPE machine! That was helmet to helmet, and no flag!
When the announcer mentioned he had only missed like 2 kicks I knew he was toast. That was comparable to putting his pic on the cover of Sports Illustrated.
0:31 What’s Her @ ?
Hold was great, check Ruggles follow through. This was the kicker equivalent to a golf shank, totally tightened up in the critical moment.
He hooked it!
I was sooo hoping OSU would finish Georgia off with that kick. Feel bad for the kids. Michigan fan here.
You are not a michigan fan if you were rooting for those clowns. That missed kick was the only good thing about yesterday
Would've been much better if the kick was barely missed. This is unfortunate. Lol
I get nervous and choke when I’m close to beating a hard boss in Souls games, I can’t imagine the kind of pressure this kid was under.
When they showed his face I knew he was gonna miss it ..
Of course. That man has the same face as Derek Carr

After kick: Never mentions him again...
Ouch. Poor guy
Me and ALL my friends were screaming on the top of our lungs after that. GO DAWGS!!!
“The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.
McAfee: “Noah Ruggles’life could be vastly different for the rest of his days!”
McAfee nailed it! If Ruggles lives to be 80 years old, he’ll remember that he cost his team from going to the National Championship Game!🤔

I feel so bad for the kicker rn. The people sending him death threats are disgusting. It’s such a shame people like them had to be born.
It sounds like you're saying it's a shame the KICKER had to be born 😂
As an OSU fan, I despise people who send death threats to Ruggles and we do not accept them into our community
