I really appreciate the extra attention the wad's gonna get. on the topic of there being ways to get past that step in MAP02 - I put in a lot of different routes for doing most of these maps, and that straferun wasn't actually intentional but I left it in anyway, I think it's fun when you're allowed to do maps the "wrong" way (and it's a thing in some of Ribbiks' stuff.)
@@DinnerForkTongue it's named after a bossa nova album by Tom Jobim. I don't listen to a lot of bossa nova, but the name always stuck with me and it felt like it fit with the visuals.
Delightful! I always appreciate showcasing lesser-known wads. And it never ceases to amaze me just how unique maps can be for an old game like this. We are very blessed to have DOOM. All the pieces fit together so well that we're still benefiting from it 30 years later. Incredible.
I'm glad taviow drew my attention to this, makes me realise I'm not checking Doomworld as often as I should 😅 And you're also a big reason why I've been enjoying smaller wads or even single maps! Thanks 😄 I'm still here till Saturday, trying to prep the short 7-part playthrough for when I'm away.
I really like the cut of these maps. Then again, lean and mean maps where the creator does a lot with very little always make me weak at the knees. I know the other maps in other wads are credited, but man does this wad wear the Crumpets influence on its sleeve. Makes me crave a hot mug of spearmint tea.
Now that a lot of people have shown their appreciation for short wads/playthroughs, Crumpets is definitely something to add to my list. I've seen a lot inspiration being drawn from it, but I've never seen the maps! 😅

Inspired by Crumpets, Stardate, and Combat Shock? I have to play this now. Have you tried Paradise (7 maps for GZDoom that use the Supercharge mod)? That would be my recommendation.
On the same note, I can recommend Alienated. It's an Ancient Aliens offshoot made by Lorenzo for GZDoom, and it's only 10 maps (+1 secret map) long. Short, not very difficult, and plenty of pretty stuff to look at - perfect for a blind run.
I haven't! If any wad/mod is specifically for GZDoom, I basically haven't tried it. Corruption Cards is the exception, plus the Cameraman mod I use for my intros. But I think it's about time to broaden my horizons and try some stuff in the future.

Very cool! I like seeing Doom Browns being contrasted with Doom Greens. I think it can make a map more interesting to look at than Just all brown.
