- This is a product review for the Carpuride W103. It's a great way of upgrading an older vehicle into the 21st century with modern handsfree and touchscreen, dual bluetooth and mirror link technology. The device operates via any IOS or Android device and enables you to make telephone calls, receive messages, e-mails, listen to music, watch movies (when NOT driving) and much more. It evens allows you to connect a reversing camera and external mic for enhanced comms.

Hi Dave, Certainly would bring on older car up to date and it looks to have a very sharp hi def screen which is brilliant 👍.
My car is two generations behind and it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay etc, I had the sat nav updated at Audi in May. My sat nav is HDD and I had to order / purchase a one time use code from the parts dept, then it went into their workshop for half hour. They send the code to Audi who then download the update. Interesting product Dave. If you are concerned about updating your in-car sat nav, why not buy another SD memory card and download the new maps on to that. You always have your original card to fall back on if something goes wrong.

I am with you on the updates for the sat nav my 2020 kuga is now slightly out of date sat nav wise, I think the caravan nut has the same issue it's hiw to update them as the don't have an sd card 🤔

Hi I’m interested in this item, the only question I have is we have a Toyota alphard campervan and the radio isn’t brilliant so not many channels, so I guess I will use it with my iPhone radio

My wife has a 2018 Kia Sportage GT line. Your correct about the silly satnav issue but!! She connects her phone by lead and uses android auto that allows her to use Google maps on the cars screen. We've used this multiple times while caravanning around Scotland and as it's through the phone the maps are Upto date. Just a thought for any owners who have the same issue and don't want to spend hard cash..

It's an interesting point that you have made and we have also used google maps on the iPhone but please be careful if you're doing this when towing the caravan. We have done this before and ended up down roads we shouldn't be going down because we cannot input the dimensions of the tow vehicle and caravan. We ended up buying an expensive sat nav to avoid that happening ever again. You can pick up truck style sat nav's that allow you to input these dimensions ( I have just done a video on one last Sunday). Thanks very much for sharing. Happy travels, Helen & Dave

Hi Dave I too own a sportage and have successfully updated my sat nav it's very easy but just takes a bit of time depending on Internet,just purchase a new blank sd card download the kia updater and its a breeze put in your model year sit back when update is done remove your original sd put in the updated one and the system does it all for you

Does it have a built in microphone when mailing phone call...ssxmy old car does not have mic
It looks amazing, but I haven’t been able to get my Bluetooth to work at all in days . So for its crap. Any ideas on where I might get some help connecting to the stereo speakers ?
That’s a shame, we rely so much on Bluetooth technology. Not sure how you connect direct to speakers but recall there is a mini Jack output so if your system has a mini Jack that would work. Just purchased one of these after seeing them widely on RUclips. Thought it would update things on my pre facelift Mercedes Sprinter Autosleeper Bourton.
Well if this is plug and play I must be doing something wrong. It doesn't want to connect with my older Samsung mobile (has android 11 which states is suitable) seems laggy and slow. Still cannot work out how to do the mirroring which replicates my Apps.
All appears a bit hit and miss. Incientally jumped at the chance to link up to my wifes aged Apple 7.
Now unsure what to do not the best £200 i've ever spent!!

Hi Phil, that’s not good. I only have apple products and was able to connect both iPad & iPhone 11 without any issue. Hi Karen, the bracket with the long arm has a very sticky pad and I stuck it with that. I took it off several times and it didn’t leave any marks or sticky residue or you can permanently fix it. Thanks for watching 👍

Hi Glen, Not through google maps but if you have an app on your phone for caravans/Motorhomes satnav then you can play that via this device 👍

Should only be £25 to update sat van, that’s all I have ever paid at my Kia dealer
Dealers did charge £25+ but, the updates are free now from the official KIA site. I did try to add the URL but, RUclips warned me that I was breaking their rules by trying to do so!
nobody non any review makes a phone call ,,,, great unit for everything else , but phone interaction with your car just doesnt work ... sent it back .... crap
Had no issue at all with hands free phone calling/messaging tbh, I didn’t include in the review for data protection reasons, displaying names and phone numbers etc but it works fine.
