Hi Lee, about twenty odd years ago I was working on the outskirts of Dallas Texas. Around the corner from my hotel was a barbecue restaurant who served up enormous jacket spuds with a side order of brisket beef and baked beans. Fantastic I was there for about three weeks, I frequented the above restaurant about six times.
In U.S we call em baked potato or loaded potato if you add a bunch of toppings to it , standard is butter , salt pepper, sour cream cheese as a side with steak
Thank you for spending all the time to heart comments. It’s a lot of effort but it’s a very nice gesture other RUclipsrs smaller than you don’t bother doing.

Well Lee its a long way to travel for a potato with filling but guess you like a challenge at the end of the day. Have noticed the last lot of your videos your not wearing your various tea shirts have they worn out ?? Regards Keith x
The skin is full of vitamin C, if I remember correctly. Definitely the healthiest part of the spud. When we had a Spud U Like, I loved cottage cheese and pineapple, but also Coronation Chicken and cheese. Chicken curry was another popular filling. Chilli and cheese, too. Happy days
The first thing we made at school cookery 61 years ago was Baked Stuffed Potato. I have Jacket potatoes often either with cheese or cottage cheese. Usually plain cottage cheese but I have had it with pineapple.
Lee you was on the “flag market” and the big building with the columns is “the Harris museum ” We used to get spuds from a guy on the flag market years ago who did new potato size spuds in a brown paper bag, I just used to put salt on mine. Also there was (might still be) the parched pea man, parched peas in a tub with lashings of vinegar 👌🏼 The big car park you walked across to get to spud bro’s is a free car park, unless it changes on match days ? That spud was a giant, beans and cheese is a go to standard, the coleslaw looked a bit mainstream though, if the chilli is spicy it’s a win from me, the curry looked wazzy and from a tin. 8/10
Curry is from a local Indian chain and authentic curry . . Different dishes offered made by other local businesses . Local sourcing and transparent supply chains is so important to this business as a family due to my own work . Coleslaw is the same one for years and tried to change it once but regular customers so used to that taste for decades so reverted back. The guy you talking about is Keith Roberts a close friend and in his family since 1955 and he sadly died hence asking our family to carry it in . RIP spudman Keith 😇
Filled potatoes are rare here, but we used to have them in the cafe at work one day a week. They would bake massive potatoes (choice of white or sweet [yams]) and provide a self-service filling bar, so we could try different combinations. We had beans, chili, broccoli, shredded cheese, cheese sauce, spicy salsa, mushrooms, chopped bacon and a rotation of other toppings. Alas, we have downsized and the cafe is no longer. The cottage cheese and pineapple would likely be better in the sweet potatoes.
37:51 The trouble with most British motorways is the lack of turnoffs. In Germany, because the Autobahn has heen around since the 1930s, turnoffs come thick and fast, so there's a much better chance of finding an alternative route to avoid a traffic jam.

Not sure how you can give 10+ to the last spud shop when he had bags and bags of spud pre coked and sat sweating in silver foil on the floor of his van waiting to be reheated in the ovens, and you said those were the best spuds you've ever had 😂 funny man

Some friends had an accident several years ago with their caravan. They were coming back down a motorway from Scotland and the wind turned their caravan over, taking their car with it. They weren't badly hurt but it shook them up.
My first jacket spud was in American. I love how people will say I can make that at home cheaper.all eating out is more expensive than eating at home. The same people will not hesitate to buy a coffee.
Hi Lee ! You're quite right, my friend. Among us mere mortals, there's nothing original. Yes, the humble spud as served up by The Spud Man is an essential food for the masses. Carbs + protein. We love you, Lee ! We consider you a true friend ! I also subscribed to Gary Eats when he first started his channel, and he's going great guns, because like you, he has that all-important likeability factor. Okay. I'll go back to watching the rest of the video. All the best !
For me it's either chilli or cheese and beans, can't decide which one is my favourite. As long as the cheese and beans has loads of butter that could possibly come out on top.
Spuds are such a simple food that can be made fab by adding toppings. My favourite topping is cheese so a bit boring. We should be encouraging competition in food outlets so the customer receives cheaper prices. 👍

Hi there my favourite filling on a jacket potato is Coleslaw and prawn's and Mary rose sauce and my husband favourite is braising steak and onion's or BBQ pulled pork.🙂
