Great commentary Riley!!!! epic spot!!! glad to see sophs knee doing well?!?!?!? awesome the grandparents could visit!!! mike youre a legend as always!!! best channel on youtube!!!!! bring on 6k subs!!! see yah in the next 1 !!!
Really enjoyed this video. We came to WS today because of your posts on socials and we're not disappointed. A great free spot. We took the road in nice and slowly and it was fine. Looking forward to Maitai bay in a few weeks after the BOI. Cheers
Such beautiful beaches. That boardwalk is awesome, and not closed 😂 Health and Safety has gone too far in NZ and with DOC closing those bridges. Awesome video once again
Ha ha ya for open board walks. Health and safety has gone nuts aye feels like we're in another country sometimes when we see things closed for stupid reasons. Hows the rest of the family, the kids miss your kids.
Great to have another video from the Leopard family. Looks a beautiful spot. I’ve been compiling a list of all the places you’ve been to hoping to get to a number of them. Even though it’s been windy wet and cloudy it looks like it’s still warm up there. I’ve been cooking a number of green, red and yellow curries seeing you make it look so easy using chicken and fish and they are so yummy and so easy to make, one pan wonders😁. See you in the next video guys…safe travels👍
Yea mate when the sun comes out it's like January, nice and hot, just have to be patient with the clouds I think, apparently it's something to do with the warm sea temps and that creates more clouds. Curries are so good and a great camping meal away from home.
You make some of the best videos on NZ that we have seen. We lived in NZ for a long time and never replies how many places we had missed. thank you. 🙏🙏🙏😊
Thanks for another great video. I have spent time at Whananaki on pony club camp where they swim their horses in the estuary beside that bridge and ride on the beaches. It is beautiful there.
best time to be at a beach, when you don't have to share it, I'm always blown away when I'm the only person in site on a beach, def puts me in my happy place.
We're sitting in hoar frost in Twizel right now, the idea of being at the beach in shorts seems impossible right now. Amazing how you can forget how good summer is, when your in the middle of winter aye.
Welcome back to North Island. Great Whananaki! We stayed at Otamure Bay DOC camp site over Christmas and NY and it was a great place to stay and had lots fun! Amazing❤
Yea it's a stunning area, we might try head into Whananaki or Otamure still, not sure what our plans for Autumn will be or where we will go but we do love that spot.
That certainly is a stunning location. It could become busier soon with the great publicity you've given it.😆 Gorgeous video, thanks. DOC became obsessed with possible bridge safety issues following the Cave Creek tragedy in 1995 when their viewing platform collapsed. It's so annoying finding a bridge closed when there looks to be nothing wrong with it but sadly funding isn't sufficient for the constant upgrade of some high use bridges.
No where has ever gotten busy due to our publicity otherwise I think I'd keep some of these spots a secret... The amount of times we run into followers at camp sites even NZMCA sites are rare so far in 3 weeks in Northland we've meet 2 people who follow us. I reckon Cave creek was a real shake up, but some of the info we've heard and some of the situations we've witnessed regarding DOC seems like money is going in one direction, Bridges have a life span I understand and high priority areas should be well planned for... I feel sorry for the front of house DOC staff that likely wear any frustration from the public due to decisions from wellington which should have a well set out plan for infrastructure like bridges.
Who was that surfing?? Good job girl. What a fun time for the kids. Good job young man surfing. Love your videos. Great drone work. Great music. Good job all around.
Thanks mate, Jades doing real good with the waves lately, she's getting better at standing up and riding them till the end, good to see. Hope Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods.
Yea it's an incredible spot so well worth the gravel road in.. It must be pretty busy here at Christmas, that field is pretty big but it probably gets pretty full.
Nice, I reckon you'd still be able to get in for a swim in May, we were swimming at the last spot in may 2 years ago when we left our home... As long as the wind stays away, the suns pretty warm up here.
The company I work for we take take truck and trailers out thst road also hailes road joins both north and south roads very narrow road next road that connects is jubilee road gravel road but much wider
yea mate, pretty slow driving through those roads with trailers on, a beautiful spot to work though, I imagine you'll have a few good smokos out there.
It shows in the video it's restricted to self contained vehicles only at 33 seconds. I contemplated putting in the video all the locals who bring their dogs down to run on the beach, despite no dogs are allowed... One guy had 7 dogs who pissed on tobys sand castle and chased all the birds off the beach, but I guess I'll pick n choose what to show, I think there are alot of illegal campers who are very responsible.
Well it would be better if you didn't come in to whananaki south and park within 2 metres of another camper pushing them to move away from you then your friends come and take our spot Have some respect next time
Hey guys, sorry you felt we parked to close, was plenty of space still between us more than 2m for sure... No need to move away we are friendly neighbors, we probably could have had a great happy hour together yarning over stories and camping spots etc... Sorry the inlaws parked in the spot you moved from, but they decided that was the best spot for them and I was in the water with the kids when they arrived, i thought you might not have liked being parked next door to kids thats why you moved with no communications. Feel free to talk with your neighbours especially in free camp spaces, often we've found we've made some great mates in these kinds of spaces over our 18 months on the road... What a beautiful spot Whananaki South is aye, I'm assuming your local to the area and Ideally we would love to have parked well away from people, but we needed to consider solar, so under the trees wasn't an option for us, and in the middle of the paddock would have been awkward especially as we were planning 5ish days here. Thanks for watching.
I really like your showcasing all the beautiful parts of Aotearoa
Cheers mate, we have so many great places to show case aye... What an epic place to live
Thank you leopards go wild for sharing your journey this looks like an amazing place even if the weather wasn't playing ball ,we look forward to next week's episode
Thanks so much, weather plays such a massive part in camping and being in the outdoors as we all know... But we still really enjoyed this spot.
As usual, loved the content, presentation and the scenery.
Cheers mate, was a great spot to free camp way better than I expected.. Well worth the effort to get there
Another great vid.
Such a beautiful part of the country
Yea mate, Northland is so good, we love it up here, it's like Otago interms of low population but epic spots.

Cool kids are bro. Bring on those 6k Subs... Sophs folks are great fun, and pretty keen to get out and explore with the kids.

Nice so glad you made it out there even just over a week since we were there. It's a great spot Enjoy. How busy was it this weekend?
@@leopardsgowild about 5 when we arrived and a couple tents later on. Plenty of space. Beautiful sunrise this morning.
Once again an awesome adventure for the weekend and brilliant photography. Thanks Mike for a weekend fix. Team Kawerau

What an amazing spot. Exploring the shore and rock pools never gets old. Simple pleasures!!
yea mate kids had a ball just hanging out at the rock pools finding starfish and crabs, and looking at the water, the simple pleasures.

awww, thanks so much for that, I do try and show how amazing New Zealand is. Where are you living now?
Had a batch on north side for 20 years. Magic place.
oh it's really nice around there. North sides had a bit of development over the years aye
Thanks for another great video. I have spent time at Whananaki on pony club camp where they swim their horses in the estuary beside that bridge and ride on the beaches. It is beautiful there.
yea it's an awesome spot that hasn't been overwhelmed with development. Love it there.
I remember being there with friends and being the only people on the beach. So beautiful

What an amazing sunset! Beautiful place with an epic bridge. Would love to fish off there.
yea this is a beautiful spot, awesome sunset alright, we did catch plenty of fish but mostly undersized so they got sent back. thanks for the comment.

Triggered hard... You wait I'm gonna trigger you so much more with these Northland adventures... To much space up here.
BRILLIANT sand castle Toby 🎉😊

Might be good to put 'for self-contained vehicles' in the title or every man and his dog will be out there illegally.
