Top-tier movie? Just because the cutscenes themselves are top-tier in production quality doesn't mean they'd make a top tier movie when put all together. This game's story would at best be a cheap knockoff Disney Kids movie. Like let's just be reasonable.

I actually do think Impa is still the coolest character after every character in the game. The tech lab in this game is the Royal Tech Lab, which no longer exists at the time of BOTW. You can find the ruins of it though, west of Hyrule Castle, just north of the Breach of Demise
And yet for some reason the narration said that they were heading to the lab in Hateno, despite it being in the exact opposite direction.
@@gamerfreak42 yeah, that was just a localization error. The cutscene in Japanese just says they’re going to the Royal lab, and never mentions Hateno.

Impa is a literal god in this game, if you just do zr three times to summon three symbols and then the YYYX combo you can get max clones all the time which turns her into a beast

My whole party was very underleveled for that one timed Molduga mission. I was only able to beat it with Impa and her shadow clones and she was the weakest member in my party at the time. She is definitely OP if you know how to use.
I was the stubborn one who flurry rushed, parried, and used finisher moves to beat the guardian first encounter. It was a long fight but...I was satistifed...lol

I can not wait to see your reactions to the cutscenes of this game. The voice actors did really well and really gave it their best.
And honestly, to have Nintendo give all this effort with the animations, storytelling and voice acting for it to not be canon is just a disservice.
And dont worry much about the gameplay, the game teaches you well enough, just dont forget to use a specific rune when the rune icon appears over an enemy.
It is canon (◍•ᴗ•◍)
I hope they take this quality and amount and transfer these elements into the sequel ...

The music and cutscenes in this game are SS tier! Also does anyone else love rewatching his BOTW videos to see his beautiful reactions?
I loved playing these games and seeing his reactions make me feel like I'm playing too, because I felt everything he did

Here's a quick geography check, because the maps, journeys and battle setups are probably the best part of the game in terms of accuracy. The "ancient tech lab" that Link, Zelda and Impa were visiting to talk to Robbie and Purah was in northern Hyrule Ridge, overlooking the Castle from the west; it was completely leveled in the BotW Calamity, and you can find it in Breath of the Wild as the "Royal Ancient Lab Ruins," basically a stone pavilion with a few tiny remnants of the walls. (One of the narration sections mentions Hateno, which is definitely incorrect, and I don't think that lab even existed yet.)
The thing is that in order to travel along the roads from the Castle to the Lab, you needed to go around to the south, over the Carok Bridge, and up through the Maw of Demise, the area in which the level takes place. You can't avoid it without going much farther south, or waaay around to the north in a big circle, because of the great elevation of the ridge; the Maw slopes gradually up until you exit into the fields of the Ridge area and turn northward. However, it's an enclosed area without an easy escape, which makes it a great spot to be ambushed by a Guardian, and working your way around to the upper ledges and attacking from there, as you do in the level, is the best way to overcome such an ambush. It seems like the area was pretty heavily fortified pre-Calamity, to protect against enemies approaching the Castle from that direction, but that's almost entirely gone 100 years later, due to wood rotting and enemies being attracted to the area as an ambush point for travelers. The whole thing is a genius use of geographical features and tactics.
(I don't know the Zora's Domain level map well enough to be able to compare it to Breath of the Wild very easily, but the southern entrance walkway bottleneck was certainly accurate.)

The only advice I’ll give you for now is take the time to experiment with each character combos ( Y,X combo 1 ... Y, Y, X combo 2 etc ). They all do something different and some are badass. It’s easy in a game like this to mash but it’s much more fun to experiment and do different attacks to find what you like!

The music that plays in Zora Dormain’s mission is an epic version of Mipha’s theme. It is glorious.

When ever you see a rune symbol on an enemy you should use it. 1, it does good damage 2,stops them in their tracks.

Something you need to know about Majora's Mask: The sidequests are MUCH more important than OoT's. That's all I'll say.

Mipha was my main, she is the best fighter in my opinion, fast attacks and almost infinite combos, it just felt natural to me to play as her 🤔

I got lucky and got high attack power with her weapon really quick (100+ before level 15) so she was a quick favorite

I switch it up a lot but I play with Impa a lot. Rhoam and link are my least favorite.
This game was so fun, the controls took me a bit to get used to but once I did man I was addicted. Was always the best leveling up a couple levels above the required amount per chapter because I would just DESTROY it was so fun

Recap of what you've seen so far in this stream.
The diminutive guardian (egg boi) has traveled through time along with malice. Link finds the guardian in hyrule field in the first battle. Zelda takes it to the lab to find out what it is. Purah and robbie find out it is from the future and find some pictures of the result of the calamity. Now Zelda, Impa, and Link go find the pilots for the divine beasts. While the malice had traveled to this new timelines guardian. Now the evil guardian (deviled egg) watches over..

@Crimson Xero There is no plausible explanation for the time travel shenanigans. Or if there is, it's not the one they provide. I'm not saying that time travel is implausible in this setting, it's just that the way they did it is extremely inconsistent and caused a lot of plot holes.
@@fearlessdevil17 Yeah I'm surprised by how many people think it sounds like this or that. Most of the time it's easy for me to accept other people's opinions, but it's harder with music because I have a good ear and I'm a little too proud of my musical knowledge and ability. Like, I hear a very clear descending fifth at the beginning of the Song of Time, and none of the tones the Guardian made right then were quite that far apart in pitch. I have to remind myself that it doesn't matter that much and it's more important to be civil and let people believe what they like.
(Although come to think of it, the four-note motif from the Age of Calamity main theme does sound very similar to one of the note sequences in the _middle_ of the Song of Time, so maybe that's where they got it before that. With so few notes, it could easily be a coincidence.)
Impa, Mipha and one other character which I will not mention because spoilers are my favorite to play as.
Also can't wait to see what we get with the DLC.
Characterwise, I feel that in May we'll see the debut of Robbie & Purah. Around Thanksgiving, we'll see Sooga/Astor for the fact that by E3 this summer we'll have the working title for BOTW2 and likely, gameplay footage plus an initial trailer for the game.

@Ben Fetchak I'm not saying that BotW will be undone or anything like that. AoC will still be an alternate timeline, and will only be relevant if Riju/Yunobo/Teba/Sidon happen to mention in BotW2 that they went back in time to help create that alternate timeline.
BotW and BotW2 will remain unchanged, AoC stated that at the end right before the future Champions returned to their own timeline.

I've just realised that the Calamity tapestry here has actually TWO champions per divine beast instead of one, to me that sells me more the idea of pulling an "Avengers Endgame moment" was established since early in the development

Normal is good for the power trip, but if you want to Calamity to feel like a genuine threat you should play Hard. I played on Hard on my first playthrough and did not regret it.
I went on Very Hard for the whole story, plus the post game up to a certain point. It was VERY hard to do, but it was so satisfying to do it. Now that I turned it down to Normal, it's like night and day, and after all I've been though? I don't mind it one bit XD
I doubt DeeBee has ever played a Warriors/Musou style game before so normal is fine for now. Getting a feel for the system is probably the immediate concern.
Fair enough, I guess. I do argue that he's a gamer so he'd catch on fast, plus he said he's planning to learn the combat off camera, and I've found you don't really need to know the combat to play Normal. But you guys make good points, too - people have fun in different ways.
And at the end of the day, I don't even care all too much, 'cause I'm here for the reaction to the story.

I feel like Hard is the best middle ground. Very Hard was almost too hard in certain areas, while Normal makes the game feel far too easy until much later content in the game. Like after you unlock the last unlockable character. I feel like Hard would be a nice middle ground, and since you can change it to a different difficulty whenever you want to, he could make it easier if Hard gets to be too much, you know?

So the whole combo system may seem a bit daunting at first, but in practice it’s actually pretty easy to understand when you know how it works. Let’s use Link as an example.
Your basic combo is simply pressing Y over and over, each Y making Link do another sword swing. When you press X at any point in the combo, Link will finish the combo early with a powerful attack, said attack changing based on when you press it. For instance, pressing X immediately does a simple spin attack, pressing X after your first sword swing does an upward slash, pressing X after 2 sword swings does a powerful shield surf, and so on so forth.
This may sound like a lot of memorization, but just a little bit of practicing will allow you to understand what strong attacks come out of when you finish off your combo. And even then, given the gameplay, it doesn’t matter too much if you accidentally pull off the wrong combo finisher, since most strong attacks will generally take out enemies effectively. It will come in handy if you’re trying to maximize damage in a short amount of time, but by the time that starts becoming important you should get a grasp on how the combo system works.
Dee bee, you can cut your boss battles in half if you use the sheika slate powers when the according symbol appears above an enemies head for example when there is a bomb above the lynels head it wants you to use your remote bombs to take it down, it is a way to decrease the difficulty, you will need it later, and shorten boss battles

The good thing is once you learn warriors style controls, you can play any warriors game! But for this, especially as bosses get harder, you want to use the runes when the symbols pop up. They help a lot
That was the Royal Ancient Tech lab near the castle, it actually has ruins in BotW, and this is where Robbie and Purah worked before moving to Akala and Hateno.
Also, this contradicts BotW's lore, as Mipha's diary says that Link obtained the Master Sword at the age of 11 or so, but now he much obtain it later on. This game does that a lot, unfortunately.

A bit of info that you might find interesting,
Mipha’s unique trigger move (like Link’s bow and arrow)
Utilizes the water geysers that she creates at the end of a lot of her combos, her unique ability allows her to teleport to those geysers and be in the air.
Essentially if you utilize her unique ability in combat she is an absolute beast.
Amazing game! Really nice to watch your reactions! We have a new Zelda fan! A tip for you, you should watch enemies attacks, they sometimes can be countered with specific runes. Like when they will run to you with a spear, you can use crionisis so they hit the ice block and then their attack gauge will show up.
I still have to play this game, got it when it came out but I've been working on the first Hyrule Warriors on the bonus maps. I just love watching his pure joy experiencing these Zelda games.

Tips: don't hold zl all the time because it messes up your combos. Clicking the left stick zooms in the map. Instead of just pressing x in the middle of a combo, hold it. This will add an extra attack at the end of the combo. Croton is a Zelda RUclipsr who made a guide on weapon fusion which I HIGHLY recommend!

Fun fact: the blue symbols that appear in botw and age of calimity are Sheikah language most of the time it says what the object is, location, something related to it, etc. in the case of the portal that was opened by the mini robot, the letters say "Gate of time"
You should pay very close attention to whenever an icon appears on top of a Strong enemy. The icons represent the 4 Sheikah Slate actions, Bombs, Stasis, Magnesis and Cryonis. Whenever one of those simbols appear, it means that the enemy is preparing for a Strong attack. If you use the corresponding Sheikah Slate action, you will stop their attack and put them in a vulnerable state.

My brother and I loved link's shield surf attack when we played this. We called it "bokoblin bowling".

deebee i know it's been hours since u posted this but i hope you see this, just trying to help out.
when giving orders send different characters to different objectives on the map, especially if it's a help the guard mission. you will most likely have them dying often if you don't later on in the game. You tend to send them all into the same objective and thats a bad strategy, though it's your playthrough so do what you want.
Im not going to say who they are, but there are 4 characters that you don't get by doing story missions, they are done by side quests.
Please use your special(A button) more often, it really helps a lot.
when attacking the bosses/mini-bosses, you tend to keep using Stasis, but use whatever pops up above them. if it's bombs use bombs. If it's Stasis, use Stasis.

Mipha’s section had me so excited. During the link and mipha cutscene, I was squealing and was just so excited. The music made me so happy as it’s Sidon’s theme. And seeing baby Sidon is always great. I was hyped during that battle. So far it’s been my favorite fight.

I was watching your second stream of this and chat was giving you a lot of confusing answers to weapon upgrading so I figured I'd give you a couple pointers. Without going into the weeds of it, the two biggest concerns are weapon type and seal type. Weapons give higher exp to weapons of the same type - so with Link for example, spears will give higher exp to spears than to broadswords. Weapons of the same type will have the same white icon next to their name.
For seal types, seals of the same type will boost each other and the power of the weapon, so in general you'll want to match them (I say in general because it's slightly more complicated for "best" weapons). Seal types are determined by their icon - so circles, squares, etc. Weapons can only take on new seals at certain levels, and the weapon that gets you to that level is the seal that will transfer. For example: say it takes two weapons to get your sword to level 5, it will always be the second weapon that gives its seal (unless it has no seal or a weapon exp up seal, then it'll take the seal of the next weapon), so if you want a particular seal make sure to watch the exp bar of the weapon you're upgrading.
Other than that, it's been an absolute blast watching you play this, BOTW, and OoT. Can't wait to see your reactions as the story unfolds. And try out different weapon types and attack combos on Link (which the game is balls at explaining), I think that will greatly increase your enjoyment of the combat!
If you recall the stone tablets in Zora's domain that King Dorephan had written, it documents the Battle of Zora's domain, and I was so hyped to actually get to play through it.
I'm so excited to follow along with your journey in Age of Calamity. I finished up the game a few weeks ago, and loved all of it. The combat gets very intense, and the varied playstyles for each character, and for Link each weapon type, is great. You're in for some epic cut scenes.
Some advice you haven't noticed with Link when he's using sword and shield. One, he is one of three characters in the game with a shield that can deflect Guardian lasers.
Two, all of his Heavy Attack combos you can charge up to add new moves to the attack when using sword and shield.
Three, Link's bow and arrow can deal significant damage by hitting weak points like headshots, and if you use them while in mid-air you get the same Breath of the Wild effect by slowing down time while you aim.
the fact the game takes place in an alternate timeline and the gameplay doesnt appeal to me very much, but i am excited to see dee bee's reaction to this
I hope this dosent ruin his experience tho. I agree with u tho. After i realized it was an alt timeline. I stopped playing. Came back just to beat it and nothin else and im not planning on ever coming back.

Yeah, those are the reasons why I didn't purchase this game. I would love to know the story through gameplays but I just don't see myself playing this game.
"I've no idea what I just did but it's amazing" is approximately 80% of the gameplay in this game
