they brought these out at the right time for me only because i want to get some diffused ceiling lighting but i didnt know what leds id get to have rgb and white colors
6:28 MUCH BETTER BRETT! Music is the #1 reason to buy these things! I’ve watched practically all vids on govee and everyone ignores music. This is literally the only one that showed music sync patterns and not just flickering, often with just voice and hand clapping. Thumbs up! But too short. Does the COB do this too? Or their other products? Nobody knows…
I'm glad you liked it! Yes the COB and every Govee product I have has a music option. There are two ways to have it go with music. The onboard Mic or the music from a phone. I'll have to do a better tutorial on it.
I'm definitely getting some of these ones with the diffuser. Thess not only look amazing. But when I'm doing photoshoots in my space, these can add cool effects. My question though is how do you connect them? I'll need at least 50 or 60 ft of them. So I'll be connected a lot of them together.i seen you cap the end of one. I'm assuming connecting them is similar
Not sure if you are still monitoring this video but I have a question if you are- I want to add a mesh wifi system to my house and I am currently on the Verizon Fios G3100 Router/Modem combo. Can I simply use a switch between the Verizon G3100 and the mesh satellite or will I have to make some setting changes?
Hey Brett i have those Govee mini “can lights” behind our couch and im ready to ditch those for something better. They’re pretty darn weak and outdated. Which one of these in the video would you recommend behind my couch firing up at the wall
They look great, and will fit most use cases I want strips for. Don’t have any yet. Want to add some under a few pieces of furniture, I’ve always seen you want them diffused regardless so would it be better to just get the COB lights or is the diffusion really that necessary if the strip can’t be seen?
If you can see the strip you would mostly want diffusion. If you have a reflective service you definitely do. I have some under cabinets and the floor isn't very reflective and I have never even noticed individual LEDs. Light Strip 2 is also a bit more flexible around corners.
Do they worked connected to laptop/pc to sync with monitor? Been wanting to buy a Govee LED light strip as well but unsure if they have an app for PC version too.
hi there i want to have one strip under my tv on the tv cabinet and another one on the other wall above curtains how can i have two strips talking in between aswell as a motion sensor for both???
Bret, can you help me please. I do love my Govee, and I have invested in their products. But sadly, their motion sensor is not worth mentioning, and I wanted t9 get the Aqara presence sensor, but how can I get them to work together. Do I need Home Assistant? Or what would be my next best option to have a motion presence sensor. I don't want to change all my light switches as that will cost me a fair amount to get the back box all replaced and then buy new smart switches. Or would I have to sell my Govee product and invest in Aqara? Love the contents as always.
@@TheoFennel lol ok, that’s why they not selling them anymore. But they are “matter” compatible are they not? I don’t have any smart devices which is why I’m looking into it now. Edit: I wrote some stuff but realize I don’t know what I’m talking about so nvm :)
Hey since you seem to have a relationship with Govee now can you let them know the only reason I don't buy their stuff is their lack of care to support Home Assistant. My string lights which stopped working way to early never got LAN control support (makes no sense) and now the rock lights I have on my camping trailer (which they don't make any more) one of them no longer can produce warm white, which is a shame because those really made my trailer functional and cool. I guess that's to say I'm a little miffed about their longevity too which hinders me from wasting more money on their products. I like how they have offerings for many different scenarios now which is nice, but their path lights and other things are way to modern and plastic looking. They have a lot of potential but just can't seem to push it over the edge for me. Have fun with the goodies!
I had a similar problem, one ledstrip stopped working, sent them a message and got a replacement within a week. Best support I have ever had with a company
@@EpicGamingNL Good to hear. I just assumed I was past support window on mine. I wish the string lights where the type where each one has a weatherproof screw connector so I could see if there was one that was causing the issue. I may have put them in my bathtub and sprayed the spiderwebs and filth off of them... which may have allowed water to enter them in a way that they were not designed to protect against... They should have been sealed better though imo....
I have some installed on my shelf. Way better than my old LED strip as I can change the colour of each individual LED. Govee are really neat strips
Hard to say something is the best if its a paid video
It's definitely the best I have seen, and the best Govee has to offer.
@TechWithBrett you definitely seen ... not too much
The Govee M1 are the best.
@@equinox95not even close to these new ones

Since this if from 3 weeks ago, im going to see if that video is up yet. Definitely a big selling point for me also @TechWithBrett

They do, it’s alright but when it comes to desktop app nanoleaf and hue takes the win. But the govee desktop app does sync with your monitor
How many colored lights do you have?
My collection is growing. I now have a lot!
Would this mimic the color from a tv screen?
There is a seperate kit you can buy which does this

@12:27 What is the light you installing? sorry could not understand what you were saying :)
I'm going to use a Govee TV Backlight 3 Lite. This has a camera that can change the LEDs behind the TV to what is on TV.
@@TechWithBrett You mentioned Cove? after the Backlight 3 :)
Like the little hole my TV is sitting in.
The real question is do they have to be connected to WiFi in order to use it correctly on the app?
It can function directly over Bluetooth on the app. But you might miss out on some features like automatic scheduling.

I’ve also wondered about this. The only have one outdoor motion sensor available on their website.
@TheBooban I bought thr in door one and set it up on the bedroom and it was trash.

It feels like the other day I reviewed their first WiFi connected light strip and now they have hundreds of products.

Why I don’t buy smart ceiling lights. How to change the “bulbs”?
Maybe so, but they ruined their app
Agreed, one of the worst UI interfaces. To many confusing options and things are not labeled in straight forward manner
