Total novice at car mods here trying to do this with my 2014 mazda cx5. I got Spyder headlights with an LED strip in them - but I don't know how to figure out which wire powers the LED strip so I can tap into it. Great vid man any suggestions would be helpful

My 2012 harness snapped and I need to hook up new wires to new harness. I can't figure out where the far end of the cables route to, and I can't figure out how to get the connectors deep enough in the harness to clip in with the metal tab. Thx for any insights! - Matt
Hey flexx I have a question. I currently have an illuminated star connected to my DRL. I’m looking to upgrade my headlights to these and I would like to connect the c lights to the DRL. Would I have to connect another t tap or can I connect both my star and the c lights through the same t tap? Im not too familiar with t taps. Love your channel keep up the great vids.

This is a great video id like to do this to my car but I have a 2010 c300. The drl is the headlight bulb. I have depo aftermarket headlights but would like to only have the xenon line on during the day only instead of the headlight bulb. Do you know anything about this or how to change it?

I hear that a lot. Sounds like a defect. I’ve had my headlights for over 2 years and I even wired then to run all the time and they still work perfectly fine. So yeah, I think yours is a defect. I haven’t really seen a way to replace them.
Kevin F I have the same problem, one DRL is not working neither the signal light on the opposite side. I replace both but still have the same problem. According to my mechanic is the SAM module. Also, I need to know if I replace the SAM module, the computer has to be reprogrammed. In case you have some experience with this.

Yup. The c-LEDs crapping out is the number 1 issue. I get so many messages a weeks from people asking on how to fix it. I wouldnt say that should stop you from buying them as long as you buy from a reputable reseller willing to provide a 1 year warranty. I got mine in the summer of 2017 and they’ve been fine even with me making them DRLs which definitely can decrease the life of the c-LEDs.

Hey flexx what’s your opinion on the 4door w204’s vs 2 doors? Which Would you recommend purchasing ?which do you think looks better? I know I’m biased towards the 2 door since I own one. My bro is considering purchasing one or the other and I’m trying to convince him the coupe is the way to go because I think it looks 100x better/manlier when modded properly(not that the sedan can’t but still.. lol). Any opinion you could offer would be greatly appreciated since he’d trust you more than I haha 🤙
So i have access to both since I have the coupe and my wife has the sedan. The coupe does look ALOT better but there are negatives to the looks. The coupe looks better because (1) They lowered the roofline...so it looks cool but less headroom in front and back seats. (2) The rear seats only seats 2 people whereas the sedan seats 3 in the back. (3) there's no leg room for rear passengers in the coupe because of the design of the car. (4) the coupe only comes in RWD unless you get lucky with a C350 with 4matic. The sedan is a great car and looks good but if you want a sportier look, gotta get the coupe but you sacrafice some comfort unless you are short like me (5'7") and you don't really give a crap about rear seat passengers. hahaha
I know this video is old but hopefully you can still help me. Is it ok to do this but from a 12v? I bought hid look headlight but there a different brand because this suppler dis not supply rhd vehicles so I'm not sure witch wire on the c led to tap into also its very hard to reach into a wire even if I knew with one it was. I did this, but when on auto mode and DRL is on, one of the C-leds always shuts down and error appears. If I switch to position lights it works, but the auto mode dosen’t.
Please help. I have 2013 w204 c200 with bulb halogen foglamp. I want to upgrade the foglamp to drl. The problem is the original socket for the bulb is h11 and i need to modified them to the drl socket type, and i dont know what type of socket that drl use. I need this info so much. Thanks.
Flexx, great video. I just installed the Depo HID lights that come with the projector housing all in one. Did the wiring correctly according to directions. I noticed the DRL's in the bumper also function as fog lights. My wife drives the car so I'm not fully familiar with the function however it seems the fog light sensing is reversed when it comes to pressing the fog lights button. When the fog lights aka DRL's are on with the headlights on Auto at night, the dashboard doesn't display the fog lights amber signal. When I press the fog lights button to "turn" them on, they go off but the dashboard displays the fog lights signal indicating they're on. Any ideas? Did I make sense?
I’m late seeing this but that fog light indicator you’re talking about is for the rear fog light built into the driver side tail light. Not the front bottom drl lights. But you probably figured that out by now.
Help please - Wired it all up, slightly different as I'm in the UK but wire colours are the same, C-LEDS flicker every so often and the the right side goes out. Using simple speaker cable with t-taps. Any ideas?
Yup. The US is dumb with some of our regulations. One of the dumber ones is every car must have an orange/amber reflector on the front corner of their car. Whereas the Europeans get the cool clear reflectors or no reflectors in or near their headlights. Looks so much cleaner.
You can’t on aftermarket xenon headsets that’s replacing halogen headlights. Mine are aftermarket. Has zero smart tech. You can only do it if the car came with oem xenon headlights.
I admire the effort you went through to do this mod. But totally unnecessary to tap or modify any wiring. I managed to achieve the same mod as you just by programming the coding in Vediamo. All my wiring remain factory and untouched.

Sorry but you will probably need new headlights. I haven’t seen anyone successfully replace the C LEDs. They are known for burning out. If you still have warranty, then I suggest you contact your reseller and see if you can get a replacement. Yes, it sucks.

sorry. I can't help. I dont know the details of that new headlight and what it can handle. Sounds risky to rewire them in any way.

Wierd because in my 204 When I turn on parking light drl stay on with c-led. Only thing is DRL has maybe 50% brigtness as auto mode at day.
My headlights are aftermarket. They are halogen replacement made to look like the oem projector lights. They are not OEM projectors with c-leds.

I connected mine to the parking light
Or you can just program that to DLR at any mercedes dealer... i did that with my C63

Looks like your DRL are flickering after the mod. Might have been better to put it on its own fuse.
They are not flickering. That’s the camera not being able to pick up the lights. That’s common in most RUclips videos about LEDs
